The work was to be completed in a six to nine month period. The work started out by the contractor asking for payment upfront for materials. Seemed reasonable enough. Unfortunately we only received a portion of the materials and the contractor insisted he had them stored in "his warehouse", which we found out was not true. The work that was supposed to be done was floor leveling on main level, installation of laminate wood, carpet, and tile flooring, installation of shower and bath wall tiling, glass block shower, granite counter tops. What we got was a terrible job of leveling the floor, whereas we had to have it totally redone by another firm. The tile work was incomplete and what was done was of extremely poor quality such that it needed to be redone and completed by another firm. The laminate flooring was poorly cut upon installation and needed to be recut and reinstalled. The glass block in the shower needed to be removed and totally replaced and installed correctly. The glass blocks had been deeply scratched by the mortar when installed and had not been installed with any anchor system such that it literally fell down upon inspection. The carpet, while having been paid for, was never installed or delivered. The contractor told us he had no intention of keeping his committment and finally never contacted us again. This will probably end up in litagation. Shoddy work, poor installation skills, basically stole our money. The contractor, At Your Feet is not trustworthy in the least.
Description of Work: Flooring - level main floor, install wood laminate, carpet, tile. Baths - tile walls of tub, tile shower, install granite counter tops and back splash, wrap walls with tile, counter height. Shower - install glass walls

This was a nightmare. I have I already contacted BBB, Washington State Labor and Industries, Attorney General, State of Idaho. KREM 2, Spokesman Review. His name is Aaron John McCormick, Idaho License RCT - 30366 working out of Coueur d'Alene, Idaho. My sister was referred to him by a local carpet store in Spokane, WA. My sister hired to him to refinish her hardwood floors in the fall of 2010. He did a really nice job on the floors and got them done in a timely manner. The only complaint about that job is he did some damage to the wall and never repaired it. (that should have been the first red flag). After that job was done in the winter of 2010, my sister asked for an estimate to get her basement bathroom redone, there was a mold issue and it need to be addressed. Aaron McCormick gave her and I and estimate and they went over the costs and she agreed. The next morning she emailed him and said that she was very unsettled about spending the money at this time and If she wanted to wait on the project until a later time (this was less than 24 hours after she had agreed to do the project). He told her it was too late and he had ordered all the tile and supplies and she would have to spend 25% of the total cost of the supplies to restock them if she did not do the bathroom remodel project. With much concern and hesitation she agreed to do the project so she would not be out thousands of dollars just on restocking fees and no work done. (I personally believe that she would not have incurred those costs, just Aaron McCormick strong arming her to force her to do the project). She paid him a thousand dollars for the supplies but they project was put on hold until spring of 2011. He started the project in June of 2011 and the bathroom was still unusable by December of 2011. Aaron makes a lot of promises he he going to work on the bathroom and then her does not show up and sends texts and phone calls he is on his way and then never shows up. Then he kept demanding more money from my sister although the job was not done and she had paid him over $9000. I thought contractors took 1/2 upfront and 1/2 when the job was completed. I asked him for an itemized bill because I felt my sister was getting ripped off. His bill had many mathematical errors and overcharges. His original bill and the amendments to the changes along the was were exorbitant and inflated. The first bill and second bill did not match and it was so confusing it was like comparing apples to oranges. He did not separate labor cost to supply cost. When asking him where he came up with these charges he got angry and defensive. The work dragged on and the final straw came when he came to my sisters late at night in October 2011 when he came over unannounced and demanded more money although he had not shown up for about the last 40 times after he would call and he said he was going to. When he did show up he would do an hour worth of work - not finishing anything and then ask for more money. The guy is a complete scammer. My sister finally had enough and hired another plumber to come in and fix all the work he did so her daughter would have somewhere to shower- since her upstairs bathroom only has a tub. He had done all the plumbing wrong, he had an Idaho license and was not licensed to work in the state of Washington where my sister lives. He did not pull the permits he should have, had workers in my sisters house that should not have been there because he had an Idaho license. The total cost when he was done robbing my sister was $13,000 and the tile was stained and incomplete, the toilet did not work, he never even brought the shower door over that he charged her $1000 for. The sink leaked, the vanity needed painting along with the whole bathroom and all the trim was not painted, caulked or fine finished. Each of these jobs were paid separately by different businesses who finished the job. I told my sister to take him to court but she does not want to. If it were me I would have. He is up to no good still because the state just called my sister in September 2012 and wanted more information about him saying he was also scamming other women in this area. He should be arrested. He also had this scam going in Arizona but apparantly each state doesn't talk to the others about scamming contractors.
Description of Work: Gutted bathroom - which included taking down drywall and taking out sink, shower, toilet and then tiling, putting in new sink, toilet, shower, new window.
