We hired KC Littlewood, the owner of KV Hardwood, to install a red oak hardwood floor in our new home and have the work done and fumes out by the time we moved in. He signed a contract with very explicit instructions on how the work was to be performed. He did not fulfill the contract and the workmanship he performed was the worst I have ever seen. He used white oak instead of red oak. He failed to stain the contrast border and it does not contrast. He applied the glitza unevenly. There are visible puddles, runs and even several spots with no glitza at all. He didn't clean the floor before putting down the glitza and there are fibers from a broom, cleaning rags and even a nail permanently in the finish. He re-installed broken baseboards, left holes and staples sticking out of all the baseboards and got caulking up on our walls over every baseboard causing us to have to repaint. He left spaces in the boards, used broken boards and didn't fill the knot holes. the hall floor is spongy, the boards are popping up as we walk creating a trip hazard with several gaps. He did not fulfill his contractual agreement to remove debris and left us with a garage full of garbage. He cut boards in our garage and covered our belongings stored there with sawdust. He left nails and tacks all over our garage and driveway which could have punctured a tire or even a foot. He went to my husbands work demanding to be paid before we saw the finished floor and kept the deposit we had given him on the second floor. he stopped returning our phone calls after repeated promises to repair/fix the horrible job he did with our floor. He refused to accept the return receipt mail from the small claims court for the case we filed against him.
Description of Work: Removed carpet, installed oak hardwood flooring to our living-room, dining-room and hallway. Accepted a check deposit on another floor which he cashed and kept even though we decided not to have him do the other job after the disastrous results on our first job.

Casey sold us on the idea of buying enough hardwood flooring to complete the entire kitchen, dining, living room and hallway areas. This is his own business, and he was referred by another company's local manager. The verbal quote included installing porcelain tile - had to ask to get written estimate. Owner stated would begin on Tuesday, and have entire job done by the end of the week. Indeed, this didn't occur. While the team began first thing on Tuesday, they did NOT work at the job full time; worked only a few hours, left for most of the day, and finished before 4 pm every day. 2 weeks to do job - sloppy work habits - every night materials, personal clothing, equipment & tools had to be moved (even off our furniture and out of the hallways). Never cleaned up after themselves. Then, the TOOK the rest of the wood without asking. Spent next 10 days every day on phone to get extra wood returned - which happened only after we said they'd have to pay for it.
Description of Work: Prep and install approx. 600 sq. ft. hardwood flooring in 7-year old home. Pick up & deliver hardwood from another company; will call dock & deliver to residence prior to work commencement date. Also, install approx. 200 sq. ft. porcelain tile in mud room and 2 bathrooms. Tile work included installation of backer board, and complete job including grouting and sealing. Tile pre-delivered by owner and stacked in garage at residence. Project included removal and delivery to landfill of old carpet and vinyl flooring in areas where new flooring was installed.
