Although, On the Spot was very prompt in their initial response to remove the water damage and mold, overall, I considered them to be very unprofessional and inconsiderate. And depending on who was doing the work, some was done very well, and some was not. Below is a list of some of the unprofessional situations we had to deal with: 1. We were never given a written, itemized estimate of the work PRIOR to the work beginning, even though it was requested from On the Spot more than once. So, we were left to guess what our payment portion would be. It was finally given to us, long after the work was done. (About 2 months later!) 2. On the Spot consistently and on numerous occasions, would not show up when they said they were going to be at our house, nor would they give us a courtesy call to let us know of the change in schedule. IN EVERY CASE, I had to call them to find out why they hadn’t arrived and when we could expect them again. The inconvenience of having to rearrange our schedules for them became more than a little frustrating. And as a result of the constant rescheduling, it took them a total of six weeks before their final visit to our home. 3. When I was home and they were working, I was regularly having to close doors behind them because they would leave them open when going out to their trucks for supplies, allowing air conditioning out when it was 90+ degrees and letting flies in. It was evident this happened when they worked at our house when I wasn’t there, because dogs were let in, and left in, that weren’t potty trained and left “presents” for me when I got home from work. 4. They damaged the trim in our laundry room and instead of admitting to it and doing the right thing by replacing it; I had to ask them to do so. There were also several candles and chemical items such as carpet cleaners and enzyme cleaners that were damaged due to the extreme heat the air moving machines created. I still have not seen any reimbursement for these items, even though I was told they would do so. 5. They also used our bathroom without flushing on more than one occasion. 6. Many times they would use something of ours and not put it back as it had been. For instance, they used our hose to wash off their paint brushes, which is fine. But instead of rolling it back up neatly as it had been, they left it stretched across our driveway. And we always knew when they had been to our house because they NEVER turned off the lights! Simple courtesy's such as this, make such a huge difference in what kind of company you want working in your home. I could go on, but you get the general idea of the kind of inconsiderate behavior we were putting up with. Probably the most disgusting thing was when they wouldn't flush the toilets. That to me, is totally unacceptable! Bottom line, the laundry room ended up turning out okay and certainly looks better than before. The flooring was done very well in the laundry room, and in the basement, the sheet rock removal was done quickly and they were good about cleaning up their messes. It just would've been nice had they fessed up when they damaged the trimwork, showed up when they said they would, not inconvenienced us for so long, and been more professional and considerate of us and our home by leaving things as they were when they found them. Close doors when going in and out, turning off lights, etc. But because there had been the huge scheduling issue, lack of professionalism and saturation of the carpet ,I will not ever call them again if we have another water damage problem.
