Description of Work: Ron repaired a dishwasher for me. It required cleaning out broken glass that had blocked the upper washing arm. He also stabilized the dishwasher that had not been installed properly and repaired the cabinet. I was very happy with his service and would definitely recommend him to others.

Description of Work: Ron, Came to our home looked at our dishwasher and called to check on parts. In further assessment of the circuit board he found out that there was an additional portion of the circuit board that is no longer available and that the Kitchenaid dishwasher we had was no longer repairable. He spent a lot of time and he offered a couple of recommendations on brand names that were good choices. He did a great job and we thought he was very knowledgable. He only charged for the service call.

Description of Work: I called Ron after searching on Angie's list and looking for a quality repairman for my oven, which would not unlock after a self clean, and washer, which is front loading and was leaking, after feeling a little put off by the other local repair service that had higher number of ratings but also higher price. Ron responded quickly and at a time I could manage with my work schedule. He listened as I diagnosed the problem and asked intelligent questions to get to the root of the problem. He tried troubleshooting and tweaks first to see if maybe an adjustment would work. When it was clear that wouldn't work, he ordered parts for both. The right parts the first time. When it came time to install the parts, he was careful not to damage the floor when pulling the built-in oven from the wall. He explained his repair in detail because I'm interested in that kind of stuff, but when I had to walk away to take care of other things, he understood. He took great pains to get the oven exactly in the spot it was before he began and it was not easy. He explained why but it was over my head. But it was perfect when he left. Next he tackled the washer. He diagnosed a bad hinge on the front loader causing the leak and was right. He showed me how it was bad. Then he looked at the diagram that showed how to replace the hinge and determined that would take too long. He explained how his dad, also an appliance repairman, had taught him to think deeper. He engineered an alternative route on the spot and had the new hinge installed in maybe 15 minutes. I thought that was a job well done and it would be it. I left for an appointment and asked him to exit through the garage. But no, when testing the washer he saw it still had a small leak. He investigated and found a small hole in the front door gasket that he thought was causing the leak. He explained afterward that the gasket cost over $100 and would take 4-5 hours to replace and decided to try to patch it. When I got home over an hour later he was still there cleaning up. He explained the situation and gave me a break on the hours he had been there because he felt he should have noticed it earlier. He was also confident in the repair and said if it failed within a year he would come back and work for a lesser rate. What a guy! I can't imagine what this would have cost if it had been Sears doing the repairs (They are Kenmore appliances, and the Kenmore repair person is an @$$). And all along he was educational (though I would never try it myself when he is so reasonable and accessible) and entertaining. I'm glad I got to meet Ron and he is now my go to guy for Appliances. The only knock is that he manages a busy schedule so his punctuality is not precise. I'm sure my appliance problems threw off his schedule. But it is understandable once you see how committed he is to fixing your problem. If you call, please expect some timing problems and understand. Tracy

I contacted Ron's Pro Appliance to have a sprayer on a kitchen faucet repaired. He was responsive, arrived when he said he would, quickly assesed the problem, made a trip to the local Home Depot to buy the part, was back shortly and fixed the problem. His service call charge was reasonable and the part he purchased was upgraded to a better quality and he charge me accurately for the part. I was pleased with the job he did and will call him back in the future if I need more help in his line of expertise. Thank you Ron!!

I have used Ron several times since moving into this home. I just never thought about submitting a report which I should have done. Ron is always on time or calls if there is something unexpected delaying him. He is highly professional, friendly, polite, very knowledgeable in all aspects of appliances and how they should be installed as well as performing. His prices are fair although probably not the cheapest someone could find. He does it right, once, so he's worth what he asks. This time Ron installed a new granite composite sink, re-installed the disposer, put in the correct drain plumbing (the contractor's 'sub' had a mess of pieces taking up a whole lot of unnecessary space), installed a new high rise/pull-down faucet, and soap dispenser. He knew how to properly make the holes in the new sink without breaking it. Everything is complete and works properly. I love it!! Then, he checked out why my dishwasher continues to make an ever-increasing growling sound when operating. He has done things in the past that "sorta" made the problem go away but usually within a few days to weeks it was back. Ron discovered that the wrong type of hose had been used to drain and fill the dishwasher, and the 'sub' had just shoved the excessively long hose under the corner kitchen counter creating a crimp in the hose, as well as having about a four to five foot section looped up under the sink. The hose was completely crimped causing the pump motor excessive work to remove the water, and was causing it to burn out much faster than normal. It was also improperly installed, with hose clips removed, the excess hose in back preventing it from installing back into the opening as it should have. Ron took it all out, removed all excessive hoses, had to use tape to put the hose in it's proper place along the side of the appliance where the clips had been removed, used the correct dishwasher hose for fill/drain, and placed it properly into the space provided in the kitchen. It fits in there perfectly now without sticking out in front of the counter and no c***-eyed screw just above the grip to open the door scraping the top of the door. It is more quiet than it has ever been since day one when I bought this house new. There's probably more about the initial sloppy installation than I am reporting that Ron would need to explain, I am just satisfied that he fixed it! He has most likely increased the useful life of the dishwasher another 4-5 years rather than having to replace it in a month or so. I was actually anticipating having to replace it now.
Description of Work: Install new faucet and sink. Assess malfunctioning dishwasher.
