My old clay-pipe sewer line (ca. 1940s) was full of tree roots and needed to be cabled/linejetted all the time. My neighbors, also in an old house, had their line replaced using Hyde Park Plumbing and recommended them. They were prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about replacing sewer/water lines in my area. The pipe-bursting was quick and didn't destroy my mature landscaping. I feel secure that their work will never need to be revisited, but I'd be happy to refer them to my friends and neighbors!

Hyde Park Plumbing had installed the frost-free hose bib two years ago. Even though the leak was caused by not properly blowing the sprinklers out last fall, they repaired it for free because they guarantee their work for three years. Even if someone else screwed it up! In addition, when I first called them, they came out to look at it within two hours. They are always extremely professional and explain things well (for those of us who know nothing about plumbing). Highly recommended!

Great! One day to finish each job, Took care on working on the property, clean up was top notch. Saved me a whole bunch of money when they found a bad water connection (made by another plumbing outfit) that was going to fail and cause serious damage. Would hire them again in a heart beat.

Amazing service. The plumber came on a weekend evening, straight from dinner with his wife. He didn't charge us at all, and was unbelievably helpful. Exceptional experience, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Sewer restriction: they promptly accessed an outdoor sewer access port, threaded their rotating cutter, and after some threading, solved the problem. Leaky faucet: replaced a water supply cartridge (this sink part of an expensive remodel, prior owners)on a remodeled kitchen). Third, replaced toilet flapper. They sold us a supply of pipe-cleaning enzyme powder. --- This is a small local service, and they were responsive to our schedule. I'll call them again, for next plumbing need.

Very well! Very professional, really cool business model

As a longtime developer and now retired contractor I have generally been very pleased with the tradespeople I have used through Angie's List. Hyde Park Plumbing didn?t live up to that example. While they were prompt and courteous, I was concerned right away when two plumbers showed up to fix what I described over the phone as a leaky faucet. This is usually a sign, and was in this case, you are going to be overcharged. I was charged $300 for these guys spending about 45 minutes at my house performing a few minor tasks. If you think that's a fair price, as they maintain, then they're your guys. That said, they did follow up on a tricky issue for me on a part, so I'd give them a solid on that point. Overall, my future advise to myself is to call a handyman first, most capable handymen can perform virtually any household plumbing repair you are likely to need, and almost certainly at a fraction of the price you will be charged by Hyde Park Plumbing.

Brook was prompt, courteous, and fixed the problem of the broken line in a mess of mud. He showed me how to turn on and off and clean out sprinkler heads.

We serve out work to them when we have issues. They are excellent.

They were pleasant and professional, with a witty sense of humor. They work exclusively in the North End, and are therefore familiar with our old houses' plumbing issues. And they cleaned up after themselves. Oh, and now we know where the sewer line is for the summer house remodel. We'll be replacing that sewer line at that time, and now know how bad the root intrusions are, and where the pipe is. Also, they do have a senior discount.

Brooke was the first person to respond to my request for an estimate (I still haven't heard from the other "A" rated plumbers I contacted), and he and Jeff went to my house immediately after our phone conversaton to give me an estimate. Upon inspection of my main sewer line, they were able to show me via camera that the root problem communicated to me by the previous plumber had not only been left untouched (I paid $305 to have it cleared), but it was actually more extensive than had been communicated to me. The blockage required communication with Bench Sewer District which Jeff handled for me on the spot. He and Brooke also went so far as to clear the entire line - out of sheer kindness - and recommend to me that I call the other plumber (the top rated Angie's List plumber, btw) and ask for a refund for service charged but not performed. When it comes time to replace the entire line, which needs to happen relatively soon, I will be direct dialing Brooke and Jeff for the work!

Everything went great. They were punctual and very patient with the homeowner, who took a long time trying to turn the water off. This wasn't a pleasant job but they completed it with no complaining. In fact, we had a few good laughs and then shared some animal stories. I found them to be very professional and personable.

. Jeff and Brook responded to my service call promptly and professionally. While Brook easily cleared the clog (less than 10 minutes) Jeff tried to convince me I need a new garbage disposal. His first tactic was that I need a unit with more horsepower. When I told him that we plan to begin an extensive remodel soon, and that I would replace it at that time, he told me my disposal canister was cracked. Supposedly, this crack will leak, prohibiting me from using the disposal side of my sink at all! Never mind that I have never before had any leakage, nor had any concerns about my disposal functioning. I feel like I paid $165 for a ten minute job and a 20 minute sales pitch. If it turns out that my disposal actually does leak, I will correct this review.

I called Jeff on 7/,15/14 to set up an appointment to come and look at what we needed done We scheduled for the next day and he and his partner (sorry I can't remember his name) arrived as scheduled and immediately went to work analyzing what work needed to be performed. Jeff explained that one of the hose bibs probably just needed tightening while the other needed replacement The replacement required going into an interior and he explained that if they had to cut through they would install an access panel for future needs. Fortunately that didn't have to happen as he was able to access the connection that he needed via an existing access. He pulled the old piece, showed me where the problem was and replaced it on the spot. Very happy with the service I received from Hyde Park and would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Treasure Valley who has need of plumbing services.

We were hearing a "gurgling" noise that made us uneasy and we decided to see what was going on before we had a real emergency. Let's face it, nobody likes to have a plumber come out to do work because it usually means that something went very wrong. Plus, there is nothing pleasant about the work they do. Jeff is very professional and did a great job explaining the work he was going to do and why he thought it should be done. I have learned the hard way that you can pay for "cheap & fast" or you can pay for quality work done right the first time. Jeff does quality work the first time and you might pay a little more for it. I also appreciated Jeff's experience with older North End Boise homes. I would definitely hire Jeff again in the future.

We had a water heater burst. It was old and mounted in a very difficult location. We called two companies to provide estimates but turned to Angie's List where we found Hyde Park Plumbing. Jeff came that day and did the job imediately for considerably less than the other two estimates. The other guys tried to sell me a maintenance program that included a "discount" on this job. I'm so happy that we found Jeff! Hyde Park residents, this is the guy to call!!

We noticed a small leak when under our house (from a pipe that burst due to our tenant leaving the hose attached during freezing weather). We called Hyde Park Plumbing, having used him a few weeks earlier to replace a water heater. Once again he showed up on time, explained the job thoroughly and performed the work immediately. Great plumber, good businessman and really a nice guy. Go local! Support this North End business!

After initially using a different company that gave me an incorrect diagnosis, I am certain that Jeff has saved us thousands of dollars simply due to his expertise in working with old, North End homes. When our main sewer line went out, Jeff offered a free bid with his camera and took a lot of time to show us what exactly was going on with our system. He explained it all very clearly, gave us our options and we hired him on the spot due to the reasonable price, his clear expertise and high quality equipment. That repair went perfectly and we've continued to hire him. Our pipes froze and he went above and beyond to fix the problem. Our hot water heater went out and we didn't even ask for a bid upfront because we knew it would be honest and competitive. It was. Needless to say, I won't ever call another plumber. We know Jeff very well at this point and he truly is a great, honest business owner. Everyone needs an honest plumber and I go out of my way to tell people about him because he's helped us so much.

A broken flange and toilet overflow caused us to consult Angie’s list for a plumber. Based on a couple of reviews and geography we chose Hyde Park Plumbing. Prompt and (initially) courteous, they gave us a bid to replace the toilet and flange. Sadly we did not scrutinize the quote carefully. The amount circled was the amount we thought we were agreeing to but the actual figure was further on the page and was twice as high. Admittedly our failure of due diligence caused us to buy a Cadillac when a Chevrolet would have served quite nicely. Our greatest concern with this transaction occurred when the plumber panicked and called a disaster repair company. They arrived almost immediately, catastrophizing about the amount of damage done. We were told the mold was so bad that we were advised to not even enter the bathroom without proper respiratory gear. He said the bathtub and vanity would have to be ripped out and the dry wall removed several inches above the floor. The insurance adjuster disputed that and, when the floor covering was removed, very little damage had occurred. Instead of thousands and thousands of dollars of damage, it cost us $188 to do the repairs (in addition to the outrageous amount of the plumbing bill). This work was done by a very competent and independent handyman. Given the scenario between the plumber and the disaster cleanup business, I can only conclude that Hyde Park was working in collusion with them, sensing there would be a highly profitable insurance claim. I rate Hyde Park Plumbing an “F” and would caution anyone using him to be very careful.

Just really easy. He has a lot of experience with the older homes,which is what I needed. He was neat and tidy, respectful, punctual, and spelled everything out.

I own a rental property in Boise. My son lives with two roommates in the house. My son called and said his tub is clogged and I went to my trusted Angie's List and found Hyde Park Plumbing. Called Jeff and made an appointment while I was in Boise. He came on-time and I took him to the bathtub which was clogging, he immediately said the problem might be the dirt in the bathtub stopper. Sure enough he removed the bathtub stopper took the dirt out and the water started flowing smoothly. Obviously, neither me nor my son thought of checking this ourselves. I asked Jeff what is the cost and he said "I can't charge you because it took only a few minutes and think of it as a Christmas present". I insisted he take something and handed my credit card, at this point I was feeling really stupid for not doing it myself and guilty for wasting Jeff's valuable time. Jeff goes down to his truck with my credit card and writes the invoice with the amount as $0...at this point I am REALLY REALLY feeling guilty but Jeff insisted there is no charge. Now I feel very obligated to call him again so that I can pay him....maybe I will have to clog the drain really bad...ok, I am only kidding but I really want to use his services again and pay him. Jeff is truly AWESOME !! Note to Jeff...quit working for free man !!

Hyde Park Plumbing I just have to say a few words here, Jeff is truly a nice guy that was on-time/made every effort to keep everything clean/and cleaned up properly. We had our main sewer line snaked with his video camera which gave us the peace of mind which I needed before I landscape this old house. Thank goodness they were good. I also had him, since he was here, work on the other pipes which were running slow. Come to find out they were really bad. After he was done, I had never seen the drains work so good!! I have had other plumbers in multiple times with poor success or little change making me think this is the way it always will be, like it always has been. It was truly amazing to know he took the time to really do it right!!! Regards, Bill
