Carl told us that he could work with new carpet if needed. The carpet contractor came in as scheduled and removed the carpet. Since it was out of the way we informed Carl so he could have his crew paint baseboards more easily while the carpet was out. His crew went in and took over and made it so the carpet contractor had to reschedule the carpet installation 3 times. The quality of the paint job was mixed. In rooms where some of his crew painted, it looked ok. The areas where Carl himself painted looked horrible. I personally spent hours applying another coat on the sections that Carl painted and touching up the other areas. We also asked that all baseboards be painted white. Right at the beginning they painted them all white, but just before they were finishing up Carl went in and painted all of the baseboards in our closets etc., brown to match the carpet. He had to go in and repaint them white and they looked bad. You could tell that they had been repainted and see brown especially close to the carpet. Although they sprayed most of the doors white in our garage, for some reason they also sprayed some upstairs in our bonus room. The walls in the bonus room was painted a light yellow and there was obvious over spray from when the doors were sprayed. I had to try and repaint the over spray. For some reason his crew also decided that it would be a good idea to pressure wash the outside of our house. Instead of "cleaning" the exterior, the pressure wash had the effect of highlighting how the exterior also needed to be repainted and stripped off pieces of paint. Carl of course offered to repaint the exterior as well which we refused. Also his crew wasn't very careful when they removed the doors and they lost some of the hardware, put doors back in the wrong places, and broke a closet door. I had to fix it myself. His crew opened up all of the windows and ran our air conditioner non-stop. They also demanded payment right in the middle of the job. We gave them a partial payment probably not the best idea since their progress seemed to slow down after that. In the end I told Carl that I wasn't happy with his work and told him I wouldn't be paying him the full amount given the amount of work I was going to have to do to make it look ok. He verbally acknowledged that things could have been better and accepted a reduced amount. He tried to convince me that he could make it better, but I insisted that he be done and that I'd finish touch ups myself. That is when he informed me that they had used 3 slightly different shades of tint on our walls instead of one. I made him label the paint cans. Once I gave him the final payment, he immediately took the money got on his phone and called someone as he walked out. Once whoever he was calling answered he informed them that he had the money and that he was on his way. Unfortunate it doesn't end there. In the end our realtor needed an invoice or something that showed we had paid to have the house painted. Carl never gave us one so our realtor met with him and asked for one. He and his wife told our agent how rude I was and they refused to give her an invoice until we paid the rest of the money. Our agent in the end gave them $200 just to get the invoice so we could close on the house. I would never recommend using Carl Benyun for any work or use Four Seasons Painting LLC. In the end it took Carl so long to complete the work, that we could have just used the painter we originally wanted to and would probably had the interior painted faster. Always get the invoice and never pay until the work is complete.
Description of Work: We were selling our house in Boise and needed just the interior painted. The painter we wanted to use (Ron Humphries) was booked until about 1 month later. So we tried Four Seasons - Carl (Ingwar) Benyun since he said he could start right away. We also at the same time had hired another contractor to replace our carpet.
