Joe and his team are first rate. We finally got around to deciding and scheduling our project to replace carpet in five rooms and an additional closet early this year. Just as we were to start the global pandemic put the brakes on the project for us. It was quite easy to work with Joe to delay and then when we were able to reschedule easy to get the project moving. Anthony, Mike and a couple others who worked with them were professional craftsmen all the way. Nothing about this project was simple. Five rooms, 1,500 sq feet, carpet to take out, tile boundaries, closets with built-ins, irregular rooms, 9-inch baseboard, fireplaces, doors, crawlspace hatch etc. From the start the Classic team was great about coming in with masks and setting up separate space to work in providing as much isolation as possible. When the initial finish wasn't as good as they wanted they asked to come in on Saturday so they could make it right (I could not detect anything that was amiss). On the final walkthrough the owner noticed a spot where the finish was not right and pointed it out and fixed it though it was barely noticeable. Great work and would be happy to work with this great shop again.

We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the job that Joe and his crew did for us. Dan and Logan did the most of our installation, you could not ask for two young craftsmen who were more careful, courteous, and pleasant to have in your home for a week, giving careful attention to every detail of the job. These guys deserve two thumbs up!! We will post photos after we do a bit of touch up on the walls, and complete a closet renovation in the hall way.

Floor looks beautiful! Obviously took extra care to address areas that had been exposed to water over the years. Baseboards in great shape after the work too. Really pleased at minimal dust throughout the house. Joe was responsive and knowledge, easy to work with!

Joe Wallace, the Owner of Classic Hardwood Floors, and his highly-skilled and meticulous crew of 5 guys worked for 2+ weeks to knock it over the fence. Initially, I secured 4 quotes which all came within 10% of each other so it was a hard decision to make out of the gate. I decided to go with Joe because he of his professionalism and willingness to stain maple, which the others contractors wouldn't do because the outcome is invariably blotchy. Joe was willing to take it on and guarantee the results with confidence. Joe has been doing floor 20+ years and has figured out how to stain maple beautifully. Everything from the installation to the final coatings were done to perfection with great attention to detail by Classic Hardwood Floors. They were were respectful of my home and cleaned up every day over the 2+ weeks it took them. I recommend them highly and without reservation for all jobs big or small, maple or otherwise. This was simply fabulous work.

We initially hired another company to install our flooring, they were at our house for about an hour when it became clear to us that we needed to change course and ask them to leave. It was at this point that I started calling around looking for a replacement, and was lucky enough to get a hold of Joe with Classic Hardwood Floors. I explained our dilemma, all the while worried that he would think that we were too high maintenance, but thankfully, since they were working on another project nearby, Joe agreed to fit us into their schedule. Here is the good part; upon measuring, Joe pointed out that there was less square footage then what I was told by the other company. So, think about this; he could have totally taken advantage of us knowing that we were in a bind. Instead, he did the just the opposite! Joe and his crew did an amazing job on our floors, used Bona products, and treated us with the utmost respect and fairness. My only regret is that we did not use them to start with.

After some research on Angie's list and the internet, I called seven on Monday. Five returned my call and set up appointments Tue, Wed & Thursday. Between the two rooms there was about 500 sf of 4" Hickory flooring as well as the removal and disposal of the carpet, pad, and nail strips. I had a written scope of work of what I wanted and what I did not want. I wanted a finished in place floor. No stain or anything fancy just a quality installed hardwood floor. Joe Wallace from Classic came on Weds morning. Understood what i wanted and took his measurements and said he would have a price to me by Thursday. The other four also took there own measurements and said they would have prices by weds or Thurs. All the prices were within $500. Only Classic and one other responded to my scope of work in there Quotes. The others were in my opinion unresponsive quotes as they were quoting what they wanted to do Please note Classic floors was not the low price. Joe seemed to be a straight shooter and was knowledgeable. I sent him an e-mail over the weekend to give me a call on Monday. When he called I told him to load the wood into the house, which he did on Weds. He and his men showed up at the appointed time on Monday, and his men proceeded to complete the work by Thursday noon. Joe showed up everyday to see how things were progressing. There were Never any problems that weren't addressed immediately by his lead man. Floors look great and it was a quality installation. .

I contacted Joe via phone. He was in the middle of a job and asked me to send him an email message with details of the job we were looking to do. I sent a message right away to him as well as to two other places. He did not reply at all. Never even acknowledged the message. I even sent a second message correcting the address of the location of the job. Must have too many jobs to be interested.

Classic Hardwood Floors earned an A+. All of the crew was polite, professional, efficient and competent. Joe Wallace, the owner, was wonderful to work with and responded promptly to our questions and concerns. They covered kitchen areas, clothes in closets and the bookshelf that lines the entrance hall with visqueen sheeting to protect those areas from dust from sanding. The floors are gorgeous!

We were out of town, but all work was done when we finished and everything looked great! Good price, and the house was clean...very little to no dust.

They did great work and Joe was mostly very responsive. There were a couple communication mix-ups but Joe was very apologetic and had a reasonable explanation. The floors look beautiful and the newly refinished floors flow seamlessly into the previously done floors. We are very happy with the end resuls,

Based on the reviews on Angie's list, I contacted Joe at Classic to give me a bid to remove existing carpet in my dining room and install new maple hardwood flooring to match the existing maple hardwood flooring in my kitchen and entry way. I also wanted to refinish all of the existing hardwood floors. Joe was on vacation, but answered the call anyway and immediately arranged for his co-worker to schedule an appointment. The next day, he came out, measured and promised to give me a bid. I received the estimate the next day and was pleased, so immediately agreed to move forward. I explained that I was going out of town the next week and, if at all possible, would love the work to be done then. Originally, they said they were booked and scheduled me a few weeks out. But, lucky for me, they ended up having a cancellation and were able to start the following week. Joe kept me informed throughout the process and the work was professional. The floors turned out beautiful. Joe even helped me move my VERY heavy hutch out of, and then back into, the dining room to accommodate the installation of the new floors. I couldn't have done it without him. I love the floors and appreciate the care that Joe and his team took in installing and refinishing the floors (and keeping the rest of the house relatively clean throughout the process). I would definitely recommend him to anyone and, if needed, I would gladly use him again. Thanks Joe!

They refinished the floors without removing a distressed finish. The price was very good and the work very well done. I would recommend them to anyone.

We had a great experience with this company. Joe from Classic Hardwood came out for an estimate and was very professional. All of his staff showed up on time and were also professional. I would definitely recommend this company for any installation needs of hardwood you might have.

All aspects of the job went very well. They were always right on time and did a wonderful job. The dust collection system was very good as there was very little cleanup for us to do afterwords. The floors look great and the process was painless compared to similar work I have had done in the past. They were also the least expensive of three quotes I received.

SUMMARY Competitive price, respectful and pleasant to work with, job well done. QUOTE EXPERIENCE Joe was on-time for the free estimate. He was pleasant and friendly. He asked enough questions to understand the work that needed to be done. He discussed options with me. He provided a written quote prior to leaving my home. Afterwards, I emailed follow-up questions to him, and he responded by calling me with answers. He also followed-up with me a few days later to see if I had other questions. He provided references when I requested them. His price was competitive. WORK EXPERIENCE Joe, Bryce, and Mike were on-time. Joe reviewed the work with Bryce and Mike, and then Joe left. Joe returned to the job site to check on progress. They removed a 14x14 foot living room area that was carpeted and replaced it with hardwood. The area surrounding the living room was already hardwood, but there was a beveled edge where the hardwood met the carpet, and they removed the beveled boards so that the new hardwood would be flush with the existing hardwood. Bryce and Mike were respectful (friendly, no profanity, no loud music, they were careful with my stuff). Both men did an excellent job: They removed baseboards where needed, they cut existing baseboards and wood molding with clean edges and precision, they blended the new hardwood with the existing hardwood, and they left the job site orderly and clean each day. They installed the hardwood around the fireplace, leaving an adequate gap for grout (the area around the fireplace is slate/stone tile). Most of the work took place the first day (removing carpet, removing/cutting baseboards and molding, installing new hardwood, sanding, applying wood filler). On the second day, they sanded and applied the first water-based finish. The third day involved applying the second water-based finish. On the fourth day, they replaced the baseboards. Prior to the job, we agreed that I would caulk and apply touch-up paint to the baseboards...which was a fairly easy task (mostly caulking, very little painting since they were careful with the boards). I also took care of the grout around the fireplace. Regarding payment... Joe asked for half of the amount on the first day when he dropped-off the boards and his men started work. The final half of the payment was due when the work was completed. There is some variation between the existing hardwood (7 years old) and the new hardwood; both are white oak #2. But that variation is to be expected (i.e., not the same lot of wood, finishing was a different product, and age). In the future, when I have all the hardwood flooring refinished, then there will likely be no variation. The finishing sheen (flat/matte) matches between the new and existing hardwood. The bottom line... IT LOOKS GREAT, the price was competitive, and Joe and his team were pleasant to work with. In the future, when it comes time to have my hardwood floors refinished, I will definitely consider Classic Hardwood Floors.
