Description of Work: Chris is my go-to guy for repairs of all kinds. He knows how to fix just about anything, and he always does it with excellent quality. Because of his attention to detail, he is not the least expensive option because he charges by the hour, his rate is relatively high, and he takes the time to do a good job. Most recently, he re-did a section of a porch floor that had rotted through, and also some minor electrical issues. As usual, everything was done well.

Description of Work: Chris was excellent. He tracked down a leak in our water system that was adding to our water bill. While tracking, he found an open drain of a shower in the crawl space. Fixed it and fixed several other plumbing problems that we found. I should mention that our crawl space is difficult to navigate. He tackled those problems when I believe others would not have done so. He was very efficient, diligent, and taught us how to maintain of fix some of the minor problems ourselves. He went out of his way to inform and explain what the problem was and how he would fix it. We were delighted with his work. He solved many problems in one visit that I didn't think could be fixed without some major reconstruction. And after all that, the price for his time and repairs were much lower that we had anticipated they would be. Next time we have a problem, we will call Chris Wright.

Description of Work: I have used Chris before. He is reliably pleasant, professional, prompt, and very good at all kinds of jobs. His receipts are so detailed that even a 4 year old could understand what he did: repaired an old, high-end, chronically running toilet; fixed and improved a kitchen cabinet towel rack; showed me how to work the system for all the outdoor hoses, while putting this together and making sure it all functioned perfectly. He was here for about 3 hours, including a short run to the hardware for supplies.

Description of Work: Mr. Wright arrived earlier than the appointment time. He replaced a leaking section of pipe, including 2 valves, under the kitchen sink, fixed a leak in the sink faucet, re-seated a toilet that was leaking around the wax seal, and found an fixed another leak in the basement that I hadn't even noticed before. He took plenty of time and care to make sure the work was done right and all of his joints were sealed, meanwhile offering helpful tips for how I can maintain or improve my old house. Everything was left as clean or cleaner than he found it. He provided the receipt for all the parts used and accounted for every expense down to the dollars and cents. The cost exactly what he predicted over the phone (adjusted upward for the tasks we added on the day he came), and turned out to be hundreds less than I'd been quoted by another plumbing firm. I was delighted with both the quality of his work and his very reasonable rates. I will not hesitate to call him again.

Description of Work: Chris talked with me at length on one occasion regarding a bathroom remodel. He was knowledgeable and willing to listen to my ideas as well as offer his own practical and creative suggestions. He didn't provide a written proposal, but gave me a verbal estimate of costs for the project I outlined. Chris presented as honest, and very knowledgeable about his trade. I eventually went with a remodeler who I had known for many years.

During the process, Chris was both professional and friendly. Chris will be the first number we call in the future.
Description of Work: We had two leaking pipes. I found Chris on Angies List. He replaced one pipe and one valve. He also gave us hints for cleaning up the mess.

+ 0 moreThe greatest thing about Mr. Wright is that he answers his phone, returns calls promptly and listens! I told him I couldn't climb a ladder to read the type of fan that was currently in place. So, I described it in detail. On the scheduled day of install, he called me about 10 mins before his scheduled arrival to say he'd stopped at the store to pick up the part that he thought we would need and might be a few mins. late! It was a refreshing change to be kept in the loop! (I've had enough recent experiences of folks not returning my calls at all or calling so far after the fact that the job was already done!) Chris's actions let me know that my call was important to him and acknowledged that my time was just as valuable as his was. My fan was installed in record time and with the correct part. This was due to his expertise and and quot;the very good description you gave me.and quot; Mr. Wright has found the right balance of the personable/professionalism I so value. Instead of feeling like the and quot;little womanand quot; or the and quot;dumb blondeand quot;, Mr. Wright left me feeling like a respected, valued member of his team. Together we got the right part and the job done-you can't go wrong with Wright!

He did a lot of checking with us to see what we wanted him to do rather than just telling us what he was going to do. He worked with us. His rates were reasonable and he was a nice guy. He did good work and we were happy with him. He wasn't pushy at all. He was excellent. The price was very good.

+ 0 moreChris' work was exceptional. He is honest, reliable, looks for economical solutions and interested in maintaining the historic character of a home. He was very clear about what work he would do, how it would be when completed, and provided a clear estimate of his time and materials. This was a difficult job, as it was fixing someone else's shoddy work. He arrived on time, did his work quickly and quietly, and cleaned up afterward. We have used Chris before and will use him again with confidence. Chris is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work.
Description of Work: We did a major kitchen remodel summer 2009. The main contractor did some shoddy work. Chris fixed the problem. We kept the original built in cabinets but had them repainted, drawer rollers and new hinges & hardware. The main contractor (Trinity Construction NOT recommended) could not, would not, was incapable of re-installing the 11 drawers so they pulled smoothly. Chris came and re-did the installation so the drawers pulled well.

+ 0 moreMr. Wright did an excellent job. He was here on time, friendly, courteous and professional. He even rewired the garbage disposal as it had been done incorrectly by whomever originally installed it. The plumbing had also been installed wrong, in it's original format, and he reconfigured it, making it work properly. He also reused the old pipe fixtures and saved me money. Would I call Mr. Wright again? You bet, I have electrical that needs some work and anything else that comes up, Mr. Wright will be called first.

+ 8 moreChris's knowledge and integrity make working with him a pleasure from start to finish. If he can't or doesn't do something, he says so right away. He works until the job is done and charges time and materials. He also does home inspections, and I would never buy a house Chris hasn't looked at first. I probably shouldn't be writing this review because he's spread pretty thin as it is, and I want to make sure he keeps having time for me. And my mom, and my brother, and my friends. My best advice is to call him early, he books up pretty fast.
Description of Work: Chris Wright does maintenance on our home and rental properties. Twice a year we go around to each property and make a list of what needs doing. There is nothing Chris can't do! He cleans fans and wall units and gutters, fixes any plumbing or electrical issue, caulks and grouts as needed, hangs doors and installs windows, fixes appliances, etc. Once my sink faucet stopped working. I called two plumbers and they quoted me over $300 to repair. Chris went to Home Depot and picked up a part for 50 cents. He fixed the sink and it continues to work fine to this day (that was six years ago). Last summer my oven stopped working, he bought a new something and fixed it. The entire repair cost $60. You can't even find someone to diagnose a problem for $60! It still works like new. The last big job Chris did for us was when a plugged AC hose warped a pergo floor. He couldn't fix the AC unit (we had to replace that with a new one, it was twenty years old) but he fixed the floor and made sure the wood beneath was dried out and not moldy). I've probably mis-categorized him, because Chris also does installation and remodel of kitchens, baths, etc.
