Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Boise

Well first I was walking through the home and garden show in Boise and I noticed there display and I had some questions. The Rep at the home and garden show was very helpful I said I was in need of new siding on my home due to the cheap material used when it was first built. The Rep said that they would be happy to set an appointment with me and come to my house to discuss the concern. I called them on a Mon morning and asked if they would be able to come out that week and the woman who answered said that she was sure they could be out by Wed. morning. I said is there anyway they could come out later Fri. evening or sat she said let me check. I was on hold for maybe 20 sec and she came back on the line and said that one of there Sales Associates would call me later that day to set up a time to meet with me. The Rep that contacted me 10 min Later was Bron Gailey he said that he would be happy to stio out on Sat and discuss our options for siding I said great what time will you be there so I can make sure to be home. He said I'll be there between 8-9am. I said that will be fine I'll make sure I am home and we will see you then. On Sat. morning Bron Called at around 8 to say he might be a little late there was a meeting that morning and it might take a little longer than expected due to the new type of siding I was thinking about they needed to get more info form there Regional Manager. I said that's no problem I will go do the few thing I need to get done just call me a 1/2 before you are going to arrive and I'll get right home. Bron called back at 8:55 and said that he would be at my home betweem 9:20 and 9:40 I said great I'll meet you there he arrived at 9:25am. I said hello and he replied with its nice to meet you. We walked around the property and I showed him what I was concerned with and what I would like done. He was writing down all of the items I llisted while we were looking at them. It made me feel at ease that someone was just as concerned with what I was made the initial experience awesome. Then Bron and I discussed the different types of siding that they offered and what I was concerned with about each one. I decided to go with there new product called Timberstack. Then we went back outside and measured the outside of the house so that they could start the process of getting the product made. He then asked me if we had a HOA or if wee needed approval for the siding I replied yes we have a HOA and need to get approval for the new siding. He said that's ok we can handle all of the HOA paperwork and getting the permits and everything. I was very happy to hear that they could take care of that whole mess for me. We then discussed the color options that they offered. I decided to go with the Smokey Ash and Mountain Lake combo. He said that those would look really good together. We sat down and discussed the cost and all of their financing options so that there was no huge out of pocket to get started. I was happy to hear that they had financing to get the siding done. He wrote down the whole cost and everything that was going to be done so that it was clear as day to see how the siding was going to work. Then after the cost he told about all the benefits of the new siding that it would add R4 value to the exterior walls which would help lower energy costs. It also has a 30 year no fade warranty. I was happy to hear that they had a warranty on the coloring cause I hate painting. The new siding also has a 5 year no cost replacement if something does go wrong. He also said after the 5 year no cost that there would be a 1x fee to come look at something if we needed but that there would be no cost for any material needed to fix anything. I said that is nice that its like having a 30 year warranty that actually is 30 year warranty not limited. He then asked if I had any questions about anything. I said not at this time. Bron Said well here is some of my business card just incase you have any and that he would be in contact as soon as the HOA approved new colors and when the products we ready. I said that's great just call me and let me know if I don't answer leave me a message. Bron said no problem I will let you know as soon as HOA approval is ready and when the products are here. Bron called about 2 days later and said that the HOA needed a sample of the new siding and that he would drop it off but that the colors were approved. I was very happy to have such a fast response on anything about the new siding. A few days later Bron Called again and said that the new siding was approved and that they would get it ordered right away. I said thank you for keeping me up with whats going on cause that make customers very happy to hear back as soon as possible on things. He said its no problem and that he would let me know wen the product will be shipped to their location. About a week goes by and Bron calls and says that they are going to be shipping the product then next morning and it should be here in 2 days and then they will be able to get started. I said fantastic this is by far the best service I have had in a long time. He replies with I am glad to hear that. Then Bron calls 2 days later and says that the product is here and all of the approvals are done they will be out on Monday to start removing the old siding. I said great how long will this take. Bron said about 5 days to tear down old 5 days to put up new siding and a few days to do any touch ups. I said so like 3 weeks Bron said yes about that I said no problem just wondering. That following Monday they arrived at 8am and started removal. Then 4 1/2 days later they were done removing old siding talk about efficient. Then that next Monday they started to do the new install. Bron stopped by several times during removal and install to make sure things were going smoothly. Bron would call me almost every day or I would call him for any updates on the siding. Three weeks pass and the new siding was completed on time and I was very happy to see the new exterior. Bron calls and says that we need to do a final inspection with him and the installers to make sure everything is done according to my directions. We walked around and inspected everything and found some minor touch ups that needed done and we wrote then down so that they could be addressed. The regional supervisor needed the crew to travel to Denver and would not be back for 1 week to finish touch ups. Like I said before ir was very minor touch ups and I said no problem. The Regional Manager calls me and says that they will be here on Thursday 7/23/2014 to finish up touch ups. They arrived at around 9 am 7/23/2014 and finished the touch ups. I am very satisfied with the whole process and will highly recommend Champion to everyone that needs work done but I will refer to Bron Gailey to call him.

It went fine. They were great. Their price was comparable to what we have compared other places to. I went with them because of convenience.

Sales person told us it would be about 4-5 days but could not get to us until first of August...Unless someone canceled and we would move up on scheduling. We finally had to CALL and state "give us our deposit back." Only then did the work crew show up and much later then the August date we were scheduled. But management did not communicate unless we called them about all the delays and we were getting tired of the excuses. The crew that did the job were competent young men and did a professional job but management would drop the ball on several occasions. Supplies would show up but with missing components, ordering components from across the country when we were told they could have ordered from Oregon supply house and the missing components would have arrive within days, not weeks. The contract has decent guarantee! Hope we do not have to test it...Quality of windows, doors and other materials seem to be quality products. We were just tired of the long long time it took to complete. Over 6 months...

It was a good experience when they came and they seemed to be professionals. But, I am yet to use their services.

Champion Windows (many people don't realize they do roofs, as well) was very responsive and as we had a leak they got a tarp on the roof right away and moved us up on their schedule to replace the roof. |The sales people were helpful in dealing with our HOA as well as we have covenants pertaining to roof color and material. The work crew was very professional and respectful and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every work day. We were very impressed with their work ethics and professionalism. The roof is beautiful and adds a lot to the look of our house. |The price was likely more than other roofing companies, but the end result -- the quality and trouble-free installation was worth every dollar. We have no complaints with Champion Windows.

My intent was to get new windows that would cut down on the external noise that is so annoying in our area--because of Hwy. 95 and I-84 running within 1 mile of our house. The new windows may have reduced the volume of the noise, but what they left was a more annoying sound than the noise we had before. It's like a muffled volume that sounds more constant in volume, but at a lower pitch than before. We have had to use sound devices at night in order to be able to sleep it's to annoying. So this aspect of the window replacement was very negative. As for the quality of the windows: they seem to be very well constructed and they operated very easily. One thing I have noticed is that when it rains you can hear the rain drops hitting the base of the vinyl on the window and that is also a very annoying sound to hear at night. while trying to sleep. The channels that the screens slide in all have very poorly done mitre joints in the corners, and when the screens are taken out (which I do in the winter to keep them clean), those channes fill up with bugs and dirt that is very hard to remove. One other reason that I replaced the old windows was because of the moisture and frost build-up on the inside of the old windows in the winter. I'm sorry to say the the Champion windows (especially the slide-by ones) still have that same problem. The 2 that are double-hung do not do that, but then they are under the patio roof and are not as exposed to the extreme cold of the others. As for the "famous" 365 Glass that Champion promotes so heavily--the verdict is still out on that. I would say that the glass doesn't let in much solar heat (if you want that in the winter to help heat the house), but all in all they may be a little better in holding out the cold air. We haven't gone through an AC season yet so the verdict on how well they help with holding down the AC bill is still not in. During these warm sunny days we've had this spring I would say that they do seem to let in less heat through the glass than the old windows, but no comparison electric bills are yet available to make an opinion on that.

Installation of windows, doors and siding was prompt and professionally done. Installer clean up work site and review all work after installation. One window was damaged in shipping and needed to be rebuilt. The lead time for the replacement window was excessive at 8 weeks

Well we had ordered a certain window and when they came to install it, it was not the right window we had ordered., so they installed the one they had and went back and re-did the window we actually ordered so we had to wait another 3 to 4 weeks for the right one to be installed. It didn't take long to put it in since the framing was already in. But then they had to come back and re-chaulk around it. Other then that it was alright to our specifications. I would recommend Champion to any one but make sure they look at what the person has ordered before they install it. Plus we never got a sign put in front stating we had Champion Window put in like the salesman told us he would do, for advertisement.

Free estimate appointment at home. Arrived on time, well prepared with estimate sizes and samples. Hard sell at end, promotions and discounts ending soon. Extra 5% off for visiting showroom earlier. Very proud of their products and training. They didn't have the size windows available that we wanted. Their siding line was the same offered by other siding installers, but their bid was almost double the price for only half the job. (Only siding from Champion; siding, soffits, facia and gutters in other companies' bids.) The amount of siding quoted was over 200 square feet (20%) more than other companies' measurements. This was a great experience and we are very happy with our purchase. Stopped by the sales center to view the demo. The salesman was very helpful and scheduled time to come to our house. Measured all the windows and gave us lots of options to buy a few windows at a time. Per our request, we wanted to only do a few now and more later. He did not push us at all - simply a wonderful sales experience. It took a bit for the windows to come in and both the salesman and the installer called to let us know the windows were in. They showed up exactly when they said they would and put them in faster than promised. In the end, on window was built for the wrong size window (transposed the number on the order), but they found a quick fix...communicating well with us throughout. The salesman also came by our house for an additional post-install inspection. Zero sales pitch about the other windows, never asked...all business about getting this order done correctly. These windows have a life time warranty and given the sales/install/post-install service I think they are going to be well worth the extra dollars upfront. I have already referred a friend to buy windows---they ended up equally as happy. Highly recommended.

From start to finish the process was great. Stan, the salesman was polite, professional, answered the questions we had with great patience. He understood our budget and did not try to pressure us into buying more than we could afford or wanted. From the time we placed the orer until we got our window took longer than expected but that actually worked to our advantage. The installers were fantastic. Watching them you would have thought they were working on their own home. They kept the workspace tidy, they provided quality of workmanship, they worked on a Saturday (their offer) because that was the most convenient for us. We have 6 more windows to replace and they will all be purchased from Champion.

Just starting the process but everything went great so far; windows are to be installed in a month.

They were very professional and knowledgeable. They laid out exactly what they were going to do, gave us a price per window, and the service was just excellent.

After inquiring on time, salesman called within 24 hours, set an appointment and walked us through quality and options. Purchased 3 days later, final measurements taken 6 weeks later. Installation perfomred in a singel day by a top notch husband and wife team and 2 other installers.

The repairman was very courteous. He fixed the window and made sure it operated properly. There was no charge for the repair. He reiterated that any problems with Champion windows (including glass breakage) are fixed free for the life of the window. They do mean what they say about this warranty. Can't say enough about their service.

The salesman was professional and timely. However, this vinyl product is in my opinion inadequate in appearance to be installed on a typical high end home.

Everything looks wonderful. I am really satisfied. They are keeping everything clean. There are loads of people doing the job. I am satisfied. The sales person did not pressure me. They were knowledgeable. Everything went well. I am very happy.

Showroom experience when shopping for replacement windows was excellent. After manufacture, installation went smoothly with careful installation and caulking. Installers were experienced and knowledgable.

Braun was the salesman, he was excellent at explaining everything. The installers were very professional and clean.

Everything has been good so far. They have been dependable, reliable, and following through with what they say. They are a very high grade window, the company stands behind the product and they also are excellent at following through. I think their price is good for such a high grade window.

The quote was a ridiculous amount. I'm sure they do good work but they sent a salesman to the house and I'm sure he would have stayed all day if we hadn't kicked him out. I didn't want a salesman coming to my house to sell me windows; I just wanted a quote on what it would take to put in new windows. This guy was like a used car salesman. He showed up in a shiny Cadillac and had his hair all slicked back. He had suitcases with sample windows and he did the UV test and hooked up the light. I literally had to boot him out of the house. His quote was twice as much. He was nice and all but I don’t like those kinds of people. He was professional if you are taking about door to door salesman. We only didn’t use them because of the price.

Our home was built around 1989 and the original windows had been showing their age. The seals were gone on most and several of the cranks were broken making it difficult to open and close the windows. After quite a bit of researching, I visited the Champion Window showroom and was shown why they considered their windows the best. After getting an estimate and reading several reviews, we decided to go with Champion. Because it was a big job (lots of windows) they assigned 2 crews to the job so it could be done quicker. Since it was December, we appreciated that! It only took them one and a half days to complete the job. And it was not easy for them as the wood windows they were replacing required extra work to remove. The workers seemed to know what they were doing and were careful around the things they had to work around. They were also good to answer any questions I had. They laid canvas drops and cleaned up after themselves nicely. The windows are all calked inside and out. We will need to do some repainting on the cases and sills, but we had been warned that that would happen - mainly because we put different types of windows in some areas. The difference in comfort - so far - is telling. We do not have the drafts around the previous offenders and the overall comfort is better. We are anxious to see if it will hold true in the heat of summer, as we have some large west-facing windows. The only complaint I have is that it was very, very windy on the days that they did the work. I should have had them wait until the winds died down because though it was very clean around the window areas, I had tons of dust and dirt that blew into the house that had to be vacuumed and cleaned up. Even though I closed and covered the piano, I had to vacuum inside it, too. But again, that is my only complaint. We would definitely use Champion again - but with their guarantee, we shouldn't have to with this house.

We could not be happier with the results. Everyone that we worked with from the salesman, Bron, to the installers, Kenny and Chris, and others were always focused on completing the job to our satisfaction. They really went above and beyond. Their estimate also came in $10,000 lower than a competitor's estimate. Thank you!
