 + -1 moreMy old office was converted into one of the kids' room. I didn't know the door locked! He accidentally locked it. Found Baldwin via Angie's List. The technician arrived on time. He tried picking the lock for a while but eventually we gave him the go ahead to drill it out. Only cost $40! Very happy customer. Later we installed a new doorknob, one with a simple open from the outside with the paper clip lock. (The kid locked the door again a week later!)
Description of Work: Had an office door accidentally locked. Key was long since lost. Needed the door opened.

When I initially called to inquire, I was given clear, specific pricing, which was agreed to by the very-professional locksmith who arrived exactly on time. No upselling or any surprises. The locksmith, Jeff, was clearly very knowledgeable with many years of experience--and he takes great pride in his work and in the company he works for. I recommend Baldwin Lock and Key and Jeff in particular with no hesitation whatsoever and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: As I've been in my home for a long, long time, the front-door hardware had started to deteriorate horribly--perhaps it never had any lacquer on the brass to begin with. As the front door plays a great role in a first impression, I decided it was time to replace the front door hardware and deadbolt. I researched and shopped around to find replacement hardware that was the same brand as what I had as I didn't have the budget to rekey all of the other doors--so while the hardware I bought wasn't what I would have loved--it will do the job and I called Baldwin Lock and Key a few times during the process to see what it would cost if I did change brands versus sticking with this one. They always answered the phone promptly and gave me a clear, definitive price to replace the hardware and rekey the new lock to match my existing key--though it turned out that the new lock had a feature that made that very easy to do.
