Yesterday I had tenants moving into my rental house. They hired, Advantage Movers, to move them. They had found them through the Yellow Pages. They hired the moving company to move their belongings into my rental house and when they were finished, to move my items out of the house (my furniture was being used for staging the house). I had my tenants arrange this for me with the movers, not knowing what moving company they had hired. The movers were over an hour late to move my tenants. I went over to meet the movers at the rental house to show them what furniture was mine and give them my contact information. I then found out that I had used this moving company before and I had not been happy with their work. However, things were already in motion, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and still use them to move my furniture. My furniture was being moved at the end of the day. The owner of the moving company, Dale, agreed to move my belongings for $120.00 cash. We shook on it and I left to meet them at my current residence. Approximately 2.5 hours later, I called my tenants to find out if the movers had left the rental house with my belongings. I was told by my tenants that the movers were loading my belongings as we spoke. Fifteen minutes later, my tenant called to tell me they were not bringing all of my furniture (which is what the owner and I had agreed upon). I tried to call the owner of the moving company (Dale) to find out what was going on. However, he did not answer his phone. I then called my tenants who put the movers that were present on the phone. The movers told me that the owner had instructed them to leave with what they had. I told the movers that our deal was to bring ALL of my furniture. I spoke with my tenant who told again who told me the movers unloaded all of my belongings they had in their truck on to the lawn and left. Advantage Movers finally called me. I told them we had a contract to move everything. The owner told me that he was in a heated dispute with the tenants and did not want to go back onto the property. He told his employees to leave because of the dispute with the tenants, leaving my items behind. The dispute was not originally between me and the movers, although it was turning out to be. The owner finally agreed to go back and pick up my belongings, if I did not sue him or file any complaints, which I agreed to. After the delivery of my furniture, I realized everything was not present. They moved several glass coffee tables. I spoke to my tenants who said they heard glass breaking as they threw my belongings on the lawn earlier in the day. They did not mention anything about the glass being broken when they delivered my furniture or when I called them to ask about the missing glass. They acted like everything was okay. In February of this year, I had a similar experience with the same movers. I was moving and found them on Craigslist. I was very unhappy with the work they did. They dropped large pieces of furniture, they talked on the phone for hours and they stopped for a long lunch break while I was paying them by the hour. There was never any agreement between us for a paid lunch break. I also didn't agree to pay for them to talk on their cell phones. I would recommend that anyone who is looking to hire a moving company to avoid using Advantage Movers. Not only did I have one really BAD experience, I had two.

Response from Advantage Movers
I am sorry but this is an untrue rating. These accusations by Member are false. In February we did do a move for you, that is true. We stayed until 2 a.m. to finish the move per your request. There were no complaints at that time from you. There were no insurance claims or bad reviews if we "damaged your furniture" at that time. I question why you would "give us the benefit of the doubt" if you were so dissatisfied with my company on the second move? I never received a phone call or any communication from you. To address the second move; things were fine with your renters until it was time to pay the bill. Your tenant's sister became agressive and volatile and began using profanities at me. At that point I decided it would be beneficial to all if I left and leave my lead man in charge to complete the job. They completed the job for your tenants and there was no damage and the bill was settled. When it was time to move your items there were more items than I had agreed to. There were several heavy and very expensive items that your tenants wanted moved in addition to the "verbal agreement" I had with you for the $120.00 Your tenants again became aggressive. My lead man tried contacting me but I had left my phone on the truck that was at your rental house. He felt it best to leave at that time to avoid any further confrontation. Your items were unloaded from the truck in a professional manner and there was no damage. Your tenants called and let you know that we were leaving and then you tried calling me. Again, as I stated prior, the phone was left behind and I was unaware of the situation. You left several vulgar and profanity saturated messages on my voicemail assuming that I was ignoring you. You threatened to slander me on Craigslist, Angie's list and whatever other online advertising. You also stated that your renters were going to cancel the check they had wrote me. Once my lead man got back to the office and I had the chance to listen to your messages, I called you. After your threats of ruining my company, I decided to go back to your rental against my better judgement. I personally moved your things for you and stayed out until 11:00 including moving the items that were not specified in the original "verbal agreement" just to make you happy. You were satisfied at that time. Next thing I know you posted a slanderous review on craislist that was very inappropriate. I called you and you said that you did that because I wasn't returning your email. You had sent an email to a gmail acoount that I had forgot that I had. Your email stated that you needed to file a claim for the "broken glass". I personally moved the that ironwood table and pesonally wrapped and unwrapped each piece of glass as you watched me place the pieces in the table. There was no broken glass and I was never shown any broken glass. After reading the email and we discussed the "broken glass" you said that you would be satisfied if I paid for your speeding ticket that you had received while talking to me on the phone, which you then blamed on me. To settle the harrassment, I felt it was easier to send you the check for the speeding ticket and cut my losses. I do hundreds of jobs a year and have real references from my customers. I provide quality work at a reasonable price and bring years of expertise to the table. I have several repeat customers a month and operate on a good referral base. I did everything I could to make you happy, unfortunatley I could not please you. This does not mean that we are a bad moving company or that I am a bad person that is reflected in this emotional review.
