This was the project from hell......still is, and is completely unresolved. It appears that I am being forced to seek an attorney for redress. I find it impossible to believe that this man is still in business. If you get hold of him for your sidewalk project, RUN as fast as you can in the opposite direction.
Description of Work: I was required to hire a contractor by the county to repair old and broken down sidewalks to the front and side of my property in the north end of Boise. I agreed to hire Ken Fortner and he was to begin the end of July or the first of August, 2007. After receiving a "Second Notice to Repair" from the county on August 21, 2007, I contacted both the county and Mr Fortner inquiring as to the delay in start up of my job. I was asked by the county to "give Ken a chance to perform" and did so. Ken started the sidewalk repair in about 10 days which began my nightmare. There were weeks of no-shows, phone calls that assured me he "would be there tomorrow" to resume the work and then finally, in late September, the pouring of concrete took place. Today is Oct. 14th and there it sits, undone, with pictures and over $100 of damage to my sprinkler system. One section is still not poured and he wants his money !!!

The sidewalk in front of my property was required to be replaced. Absolute is (was) on an approved contractor list. They were the low bidder for the project. The work was contracted for in the summer of 2006 but Absolute did not start on the project until Summer of 2007 and only after ACHD threatened to complete the project themselves. After the job was done, Absolute did not pay the concrete company and a lien was filed on my property. To their credit, Absolute did get the lien released after a month but never did provide me with a copy of the lien release. I had to go to the courthouse myself to ascertain that it indeed had been released. He s a nice, well meaning guy, but a flake.
Description of Work: Replaced sidewalk in front of residence on North End.
