Description of Work: We pay a monthly fee to be on their "extra privilaged customer" listing. With that we get an annual inspection of our heating/cooling unit. I was surprised that the repairman sent did not know we had a geo thermal unit. He was more than cabable of inspecting the unit, but I was concerned that if they would have sent someone else, the next individual may not have known. This service was provided at no cost. We also had our garbage disposal replaced. This was the first service I have had done by the company since becoming an "extra privilaged customer". The repairman did a good job replacing it, and had a unit on his truck to replace it with. The service cost us $330 which seemed high at the time, but he was there, had the part on the truck, and I had already committed the time, so I had him install the unit. When I priced the unit at Best Buy for $120 plus tax and compared it with what it cost us ($330 installed) the difference was $210. And this was with a 15% discount because I was an "extra privilaged customer". When I called the company to inquire about why an installation that took less than an hour was $210, when I am a "extra privilaged customer" the reason that the company representative gave me was that due to the company's overhead of providing the services, they had to pass that costs back to their customers. As I gave them every opportunity to help me understand the value I was getting, the representative could never give me an hourly rate or any rational behind how they price their services. As such, I ended my monthly plan with them as I am not getting the value out of paying a monthly fee. In an emergency I would use them again, but will look for a more economical plumber in the future.
