The primary problem is the exorbitant fee! Yikes....watch out! It took $318 (after angie list discount) for 35 min of work as they charge by the JOB and not by the hour....this is in additional to the $100 I spent on the sink from Home Depot. Holt was the only one available after calling 3-4 companies, but I will NEVER use this company again. Good grief.....outrageous and usury rates. Furthermore, although the tech was very courteous, he broke hinge off my cabinet door, which I told him about before he left my driveway.....it took company a week to leave me a message....by that time I fixed it myself.

They do a good job. They're friendly and provide a professional service.

The plumber was nice but the price was highway robbery. Dad's house was up for sale and the day before the first showing we had a leak. I was in a pickle and needed someone to do the work that day. My friend recommended this company. BAD idea! The part was about a $10 part and the plumber worked about 10 minutes and the bill was $302.87. He was there during regular business hours as well. But since I had to have it fixed I had no choice at the time. I don't recommend this company, find someone with a normal price point.

I'd give them a good rating. It was a little expensive but it was fine. They're good but expensive.

I think their price is a little high but fair. They did a good job. The quality is very good as far as I know. I would use them again.

Great service. I was notified around noon that the technician was on his way and he arrived around 1. He was very helpful, explained the process and the costs and checked with me before he went to get the part. He fixed everything in about 90 minutes and that included the round trip to get the part. I like it when a company is prompt, informative, and friendly. The funniest part was the Holt technician was leaving when the first company that I contacted on Saturday called to see if I needed service. I just said, my problem just got solved. Thanks Holt!

I was running my garbage disposal when I realized my feet were getting wet. Water was pouring out from under the kitchen sink. I called my usual plumber, but got voice mail. I waited an hour and called him again - still voice mail. I used Angie's list to look up some other plumbers, but it was late on Sunday so decided not to call till early Monday since it wasn't an emergency. Tried my usual plumber again on Monday still voice mail. First Angie's list plumber told me up front unless it was an emergency, he was too booked to help. Holt Plumbing was my second call. They took all the information and said they'd have someone out today and gave me a ballpark estimate of when so I could let work know when I had to leave. I was given the option of a text message or a phone call 30 minutes before they came out so I could give work a heads up as to when I had to leave. They called and I left and met the plumber pulling into the driveway. He assessed the problem and had everything on his truck to fix it right away. He gave me a rough estimate based on what he could see before he did any work and let me know that he'd know if it would be more when he tore into it. He brought his tools in and got busy. He told me it was just the garbage disposal going out and that his estimate would be the same as he had told me earlier. In about an hour he was testing it out and gave me a bill which met the estimate plus tax. Quick to respond, quick and professional to let me know what he was going to do and quick to get to work and good to let me Everything is all working great now. LOVE IT and will use Holt Plumbing again.-Thanks for the great service!! Thanks also to Angie's list for not having to scramble and to hope to get a good plumber from the phone book!

Well they don't repair appliances, but he atleast pointed me in the right direction, so that was nice of him.

They were prompt, and made sure everything was going to work prior to coming out and installing it.

This was an extremely easy and pleasant experience. Holt was contacted on March 4 to get a bid, and they came out that very day. We were completely satisfied with the bid and contacted them the next day. Holt was very punctual and easy to work with. They did a very clean installation. The whole process could not have gone any smoother. Will definitely use them for any future needs!

. This is a long story... We had a contractual agreement w/ Holt to provide HVAC service in our home 2x / year (once for A/C, once for furnace). We paid $18.42/mo. for this service. The problems started about 3 years ago. We had the tech that came out to check the furnace said that it was going bad and ought to be replaced. He said the heat exchanger was cracked. At the time, we could not afford it. We made it just fine through that winter. The next fall, we had someone else come out to service it. He said that for it's age (<15 years), he felt it was in excellent condition. WHAT?! I contacted the company and asked that a manager review all of our service records and contact me back about it since I was confused as to how it could be shot one year, but fine the next. This past summer, we had them out to service the A/C. We hadn't been using the system at the time. When we did turn it on, we started having problems with it almost immediately. I work with someone who is trained in HVAC, so I had him come out and check to see what was going on. Come to find out, the compressor was blown because it was overcharged, by 2 - 3 times as much as it should've been. I purchased a new compressor through the supplier we use through my work at a cost of $600. My co-worker installed it for us. It worked fine from then on. At this time (July or August), I called and asked that the contract be cancelled and that they stop withdrawing the $18.42 from our account. 3 months later, I found out that they were STILL taking it out. Then, when we needed to turn on our furnace, we decided to get the furnace checked out by someone else. My husband's cousin is also a certified HVAC tech, so I had him come over to see what was going on with the heat exchanger. He found that ONE rivet was SLIGHTLY ajar. He could not find ANY evidence of leaks, cracks, NOTHING. I feel totally jilted by Holt. Not only are they STILL taking money out of our account, but because of their ineptitude, they cost us an additional $600 (I did inform them of this and they made NO attempt to reimburse us. I can provide proof of purchase and my co-worker can provide information about what he found and what it took to repair). I also feel jilted, because they LIED about the furnace's condition, most likely to rake us over the coals for a new one. I have called repeatedly and have gotten NOWHERE. I'm not sure what else to do. I don't want to have to cancel my debit card to get this to stop. I want it stopped AND I want 6 months of charges reimbursed!

Great. Holt has installed a dual sump with a battery backup for me. Completed some plumbing work and checks my air conditioner and furnace at the start of each of their seasons. I will continue to do business with Holt.

Because of a scheduling opening, I was able to get service on my disposal within an hour of the time I first contacted the company. (I can only hope I would be this lucky if we ever have an emergency!). The technician was very knowledgeable and was obviously trained to sell as well as to service. We were offered a choice of disposals with subtle, but obvious, encouragement to buy the more expensive one. We didn't. We were also offered a discount if we agreed to use Holt to do the seasonal check-ups on our furnace and air conditioner. We signed up for this after it became apparent that the technician was very knowledgeable in the workings of our furnace. He provided valuable information on our heating system (we recently purchased this townhome and weren't sure how some of the add-ons to the furnace were supposed to be utilized). In summary, we received timely service from a knowledgeable, personable, efficient technician. The reason for the Overall Rating of B is solely due to the cost of the activity. It also would have been nice to see the cost broken down into parts and labor vs a single flat rate for the disposal plus installation.

I've used Holt for several years after moving into an existing construction home, primarily due to the fact that the previous owners had their HVAC services performed by them including the installation of both the existing air conditioning unit and furnace. During my time at this home I've maintained a service contract with Holt and they have always been prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous when the time came to perform service on our equipment. When we recently learned that an ongoing issue with our furnace would require a replacement I did not hesitate to request a bid from them for a new unit. Having not had experience with purchasing a new furnace before I did think the $4,300 price quote I received for a 95% efficient unit was a bit high, but I did not realize how high until I received competing bids from the other large HVAC companies in town. The Holt bid was easily 30% more than the other guys, and this was for a basic 95% unit. Based on this information I cannot recommend them as their pricing is outright crazy. I'm unsure if they think people won't pursue competing bids or what their approach might be, but they lost a long-term customer and will not be receiving any of my future business.

We really liked them. We were very happy with them. They have people that work on the weekends. They were all expensive. They were definitely professional. They were concerned and cautious about that.

This was a weekend plumbing project gone wrong. In an attempt to install a do it your self utility sink kit we discovered the pipe nipples were corroded and in the process broke some threads. This required tools we did not have and after 4 trips to the hardware store i gave up and called Holt. We didn't have water turn offs anywhere but to the main line in the house so it was imperative that they come on a Sunday. The receptionist was very thorough and courteous. She told me they were scheduling into the evening hours yet nick arrived around 330. Nick was very professional and thorough in keeping me updated throughout the whole process.I will call them again for all my plumbing needs in the future.

I received a quote for the project (line taken to the outside) to the tune of $2400.00 not including taxes. I got the project done by another provider for $700.00. When I mentioned to the plumber that did the project that I had another quote of $2400.00 his first question was, "I'm guessing it was Holt". He was correct. Evidently they have a reputation of charging outrageous prices and evidently there are people who will pay. Also, I was charged over $160.00 to fix a leaky faucet that took 5 minutes to repair. I will not be using Holt ever again and I am also telling co workers and friends to avoid them.

Terrific service. Everything about the visit was professional and it could not have gone better. We called at 8am and had it fixed and completed by 1pm.

The technician removed the sprayer hose but did not have a replacement hose on the truck. I had replaced the sprayer earlier in the year and had saved the hose. The technician used my hose but charged me $39.50 for customer supply and $7.00 for misc. supplies and environmental fees. The technician could not warranty the hose because I supplied it. I've been using Holt for a couple years now for routine maintenance as well as some repairs. I've been very happy with them. James is our usual tech and he always explains what is needed and why. I don't get the hard sell I've gotten with other HVAC companies I've used.

So refreshing to do business with a professional, courteous company from start to finish! The dispatchers answering the phone were very friendly and patient with my many questions. When Zack showed up for my consultation, he immediately presented himself as professional and courteous, taking the time to answer all my questions and giving me an honest, no B.S. estimate. Nick performed the work and was also very professional and friendly! He explained his work in detail, took the time to answer any and all questions I had... even the ones not directly related to the job sump pump backup install. Not only was he friendly, but he was efficient... completing the job in about an hour less than what I was told to expect. I'd definitely recommend Holt Plumbing & Heating and will keep Nick's business card handy for future plumbing/heating concerns! Holt's reputation on Angie's list is well deserved.

Zach was our repair person and we feel we could of been ripped off and told that we needed all new bathroom plumbing. He came with the exact parts we needed and was very professional and friendly. We feel he saved us a lot of money. Holt is now our new repair company for all plumbing, heating and air conditioning issues.
