This company performed two termite inspections on my home prior to purchase. Within a couple weeks of moving into the home I found multiple areas of termite damage and active termites. This was extremely concerning to me as I had just had two termite inspections done and couldn't understand why someone with no training (me) could find the termite evidence but the inspectors failed to twice. I filed a complaint against this company with the Iowa Department of Agriculture. The Iowa Department of Agriculture did an investigation and found this company to be in violation of the Iowa Code-206.11 for making false and misleading statements and Iowa Code 206.5 for allowing an employee to conduct a termite inspection that was not properly certified. Through this investigation I found out that the inspector who did the first inspection was not properly certified, and that the second inspection was never actually done.

Amerispec Inspector Beau Feris inspected our 1920's two story house. The inspector failed to notice several red flags, that will end up costing us thousands of dollars, including: - what I've been told is obvious mold that was in the house at the time of the inspection - what I've been told is obvious water damage - several broken fence posts and panels. - damage (that I noticed at the time) to the front and back storm doors - inspector did not go onto roof, noted it as unable to access due to pitch and height. The lower roof is less than 10 feet above the deck, and not steep. He didn't bring a ladder. - noted no "getters" on the back of the house, despite the existence of gutters - couldn't tell what an old coal furnace chimney was on the interior - noted furnace manufactured in 2997
