Bluefield Painting

We obtained estimates from several local painting contractors and chose Bluefield because their quote was reasonable and they seemed more professional than the other contractors we spoke with. Also, we'd called one of their references (a local winery whose barn Bluefield had painted), and their review was extremely positive. (As it happens, the previous year, we'd visited that winery and admired their barn!) We experienced a slight difficulty getting in touch with Bluefield after telling them we'd chosen them to do the work, but this was because they'd misplaced our information. Luckily, we called them in October to ask if they were still planning to paint the barn, and this re-established contact. We expressed urgency, since winter was just around the corner, and they ended up delaying some of their other projects so that they could paint our barn before winter (as they'd initially promised). The prepping, priming, and painting took about three days. The crew (2-4 people, depending on the day) had to paint around fencing and livestock. They were very clean and respectful of our property. The owner quickly returned all of our calls and e-mails and kept us informed about what would be happening when. The paint job is good. It's not perfect (there is some overspray on the gable trim), but for the price, it was a great deal, and the barn now looks beautiful. The Diamond Vogel paint and primer ended up costing far less than we'd anticipated, which was nice. The crew successfully avoided getting paint on the windows and the door rails, and they charged a very fair price for the extra labor that we asked them to do (cutting/installing second-story battens, re-hanging a piece of gable trim).
