The two workers came as scheduled, did the work quickly, took time to clean up outside, and checked the inside to be sure there was no foam leakage into the house. The workers were friendly, explained what they would do and how they would do it to be sure I did not have any questions for them and that we were all on the same page before they started the work.
Description of Work: We had Retrofoam insulate the two outside walls of our Condo.

In 2016, we had this company come to our 100-year-old farmhouse that had zero insulation in the walls to spray in their foam. They showed up when they promised, the crew was professional and expedient. There was a noticeable difference when they were done. Fast forward to winter and the pipes in our new bathroom froze. We called them back to take a look and was promised that a crew would be sent out to fill an area that appeard to be the problem. That was six months ago. We have left dozens of voicemails for them to call us. It now appears they are screening our calls. This company does not stand behind it's service.

Description of Work: They added both spray foam and blown in insulation in the attic. Insulation work was satisfactury, but during install one of the installers broke thru the ceiling. They did pactch the hole, but the patch was not blended in to my satisfaction. We did some painting to improve the color match, but the texture of the patch is different than the rest of the ceiling.

The workers showed up on time even though they had to drive two hours to get here. They got to work right away and took very few breaks. It was a three person team. Anthony was the team lead and he was simply amazing. He knew what needed to be done and how to do it. He was extremely professional and personable. The other two individuals were newer with this being the first job for one of them. I believe this was a real disadvantage for Anthony who tried to be everywhere doing everything. They started at 9 in the morning and finished at nine at night. The sound difference in our home was immediate and most welcome. Our house has high ceilings and hardwood floors throughout the whole house. This caused a lot of echoing and sound noise which has significantly been reduced with retro foam. I can't wait to see my energy bills in the next few months as well and will provide an update. My only complaints are they could have left the house cleaner and they needed to shut the doors when they left the house. They also needed to ask for items I believe should be standard on their truck; i,e, dust pan, broom, swisher/mop, flashlight. As the new guys were sitting in the vehicle for an hour, Anthony tried to finish the cleanup on his own. We finally said we would finish up because it was getting so late. I am sure with a fully trained, knowledgable staff, the cleaning up would have gone better. I would still highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: James, the Retro Foam Estimator, came to our house and listened to our needs/concerns. We decided to have all our outside walls done as well as 4 inside walls to help with inside sound. We were able to get the estimate and get it installed all in one week. James was wonderful to work with and really knew his product.

Amazing. He measured my home and gave me a free estimate on the spot. I have been waiting weeks to hear back from others for the same service. The home is in need of some major repairs (siding, windows, roof, kitchen and bathroom) and he told me about things to watch out for such as a contractor may give me an estimate on materials and hours but not on removal of old materials. He also gave me a list of detailed questions to ask contractors when getting estimates for service. He is a general contractor himself and offered advice on remodeling, building codes, and where to find information to help me remodel and update my home.
Description of Work: Provided a free estimate for isolation but went above and beyond to offer advice on remodeling, building codes, and where to find information.

I couldn't have imagined it would have gone this well. They went above and beyond to ensure all areas were insulated and their skill in removing our old aluminum siding and also replacing it properly is very much appreciated.
Description of Work: These guys did a fantastic job. We have a 1917 plaster and lath home that had no insulation in the exterior walls or the attic. Shane, Garret, Phil, and Ryan did a fantastic job of going above and beyond to ensure that all possible areas were insulated properly and the blown in insulation Ryan put in the attic was done far better than I had expected. Thank you all very much. Jason made the sale process very comfortable and was great about staying in contact and answering all of our questions. Overall. GREAT work and we are very happy with the total quality of the entire job.

The person who came to do the insulation first came to give an estimate. The prices were comparable with other companies. I chose to go with this company because of recommendations. Later that week he came to complete the job. He was on time, and it did not take long at all. Very good service.

They came out to do an estimate and were pretty straightforward, gave a fixed price, no nickle and diming. I told as much as I knew about the house, in particular that I was pretty sure there was no insulation in the walls I wanted to have insulated. When it came the day of, they began to drill their access holes from the outside, and found that there was blown-in cellulose inside. They can deal with old batting, the foam just pushes it aside, but cellulose gums up the foam tube, and they have to blow and vacuum it out of the wall cavity before starting. This was an understandable change order, the foreman informed immediately and with complete understanding and encouragement let me make some phone calls and internet searches to research the issue, no pressure at all. They ended up renting a large compressor to deal with it, and had four guys working an extra 2-3 hours to vacuum it all out, and we negotiated an extra $300 charge (they originally suggested $500). Despite the hiccoughs, the work was all done in one day, and the workmen remained very professional and communicative throughout. They took off their shoes to use the restroom, and went away from the house to smoke. They were always conscientious of any damage they might do (e.g. made sure they weren't filling cold-air returns). They cleaned up fairly well, left some cellulose and foam squirts here and there, but actually ended up vacuuming up my front walk and patio pretty well. Update 10/12: Just got a response from MidAmerican Energy to my application for an energy rebate for the installation of insulation. This was a selling point that the RetroFoam salesman had mentioned. However, he didn't clarify that this rebate is no good for walls that have some insulation, and nobody made mention of this back when they found the blown-in cellulose. From my point of view, this is a pretty hefty addition to the total bill, and I would like to have been notified about it when the insulation was found. In fact, looking back, someone (probably the salesman making the original quote) should have investigated the state of insulation with a small hole and camera before the work began. I have reduced my grade for professionalism and overall performance as a result.
Description of Work: We live in an old house (1910s) with poor insulation. Their only business is to squirt soft foam into wall cavities, I got the contact from a coupon for free installation in the PennySaver. They insulated 2.5 walls of our house on two stories (the remaining walls had been re-done in previous additions. This requires drilling 2-in holes from the outside every 16 inches (between studs). Since we had old cedar shakes and siding, they were not able to remove the siding and drill the underlying sheeting as they do with newer homes---cedar is just too brittle. This would leave round plug holes in the exterior of the house, but they were very up front about this, and we felt it was a price worth paying for improved warmth and lower energy bills. They would not insulate the slanted walls under the roof in our upper story as the foam needs to set up in a vertical space because of how it releases moisture. There is a miniscule amount of formaldehyde released in the mixing and first day of setting of the foam, less than what you get from your wood stove or new car smell. This has led to lawsuits in Canada, though due to claimed lost value of the home since reporting is mandatory when selling there, not any actual harm to health.
