Orkin Pest Control

Firstly, I am torn as to how to grade Orkin. The exterminator they sent was exceptionally helpful and professional. He couldn't have done a better job! If I could just rate the exterminator, I would give him A's all across the board - seriously. They coudn't have sent a nicer guy! Unfortunately, the call center and his supervisor are the reasons I'm rating Orkin so low. When we called, the call center reassured us that services would start on the same day; we would be paying for an initial inspection as well as same day treatment. So, we payed in advance and scheduled the visit. When the exterminator arrived, he performed the initial inspection and discussed with us possible ways to treat the problem. But, he also said Orkin makes their clients agree to a multi-month contract before same day services can be performed. The call center never informed us of that contractual agreement. Even though we weren't comfortable locking ourselves into a year-long or even 3 month-long contract, the exterminator was extremely polite, understanding, and helpful. He still took the time to show us how to treat the problem ourselves. The supervisor, on the other hand, was rude to both us and the exterminator, accused us of redacting to avoid payment, and couldn't have cared less that the call center was actually to blame for the entire misunderstanding.

I think the price is fair. I chose them a lot because of the brand recognition. There aren't a whole lot of other options in the air, they were very much responsive. When I put feelers out they were the only ones who responded so I felt comfortable with that. They did an initial screening, came out and met with me for probably an hour and asked me what I was looking to get out of the pest control. I really enjoyed that and we just had our first regular pest control service. It was brand recognition. Knowing they weren't a mom and pop and trying to find out if they were good or not. The first time I contacted them they were right back in contact with me.

I dismissed them. The technician, who came out, spent most of his time talking and the least amount of time doing anything and I had carpenter ants but he just did a general spraying. He sat and talked with my maid. They were expensive. I fired them because of the poor quality of service; they couldn’t kill the pests. I would not recommend them.

They do a good job, I haven't noticed any bugs in the house. They are very professional and polite.
