Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

Had a leak under my sink so I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They came out and spent 45 minutes start to finish (including diagnosis), took out one metal pipe and replaced it with PVC. They charged me $329.03 for 45 minutes of labor and a few PVC pipes. Then sat in my driveway for the next 40 minutes on their phones until about 5:30pm. The work done was fine, but the prices for the time spent and materials is extreme. Will not be calling Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for any future needs.

The plumber and his intern were punctual, but was in my home for about an hour and did work that could have been done in 20 minutes at the most. Discovered he didn't have the right equipment to get around the pipes and so left without unclogging the sink - and still charged me full price! Spent more time chatting with me than dealing with the problem. Constantly sending his intern out to the truck to get something. Didn't even bring in a bucket so was going to use mine - didn't have the correct tool to change the bit on the end of the snake, so used mine. Just infuriating that after all that, they still charged me. Roto Rooter came and worked for an hour and a half for almost 1/2 the price of this company! I called to complain about the bill and no one ever called back to discuss. Will NEVER call this company again, and I did use them in the past.

The provider came to my house quickly and punctually. Also, the provider seemed like a nice person. However, I was dismayed--dismayed--by the cost. I was told on the phone that it was $175 for an emergency call (I had water leaking in my basement), but the final bill was $410 because I was charged an additional $209 for service . . . now, the person was here for about forty minutes, and unfortunately, they couldn't solve the problem. So I just paid $410 ($175 plus $210 plus tax) for forty minutes of labor that didn't even fix the leak. This is absolute price gouging. I won't use them in the future.

He gave a very fair price. He was pretty good. He did everything he has done which was really good. I would give them A's.
