 + -1 moreThough it was News Years Eve and he was very busy, Jim made time to stop by my house for the repair. My main concern was that he might not have the part for a 25 year old dryer. He had the part and completed the email in a very timely fashion. Friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Replaced the igniter switch on my 25 year old dryer. Also installed a new belt and recommended that I change the flex gas line with a safer type (which I did).

 + -1 moreThe receptionist was very friendly. She told me Jim would call me back to discuss my problem and he did in a reasonable amount of time. He diagnosed my problem w. my dishwasher over the phone, told me how to fix it (flip a switch) and that was it. Problem solved. He didn't even charge me. That's a professional. I'll definitely call him next time.

 + -1 moreJim came early to the appointment at the end of the day instead of the next morning to make sure he got the repair in before he left on vacation at the end of the week. Was able to fix the blower on the unit in a short amount of time. Great service, great work.
Description of Work: Have used this provider before. Hired him to repair my elderly mother's 12+ year old Maytag gas dryer. Trusted him from previous my own experience to let me know if it was worth repairing or not.

 + -1 moreWell, ultimately he gave us the choice of going ahead with expensive repair job on older appliance, or stopping where he was and buying a replacement.He tried everything he could, but it was going to cost too much - so he let us off with just a service fee.
Description of Work: Our dryer would not heat, so it wouldn't get clothes dry. Jim totally dismantled the dryer, thought he had the problem fixed, then found another problem...in all, it would cost more for the repair if he went forward than the original new cost of the 7-year-old unit. He spent nearly two hours trying, apologized for not being able to fix it, then charged ONLY the service call charge (even though he spent 2 hours on it).

 + -1 moreWe were previously renting and he had done work for the landlord. He was nice and friendly and knowledgeable about his trade. He was also honest and fair so we called him to do work for us. His price was on par with anything else we could have found in the area.
Description of Work: A-1 Jim's Appliance Service came out in October to fix the rocker on our dryer.
