Scott was prompt in getting back to me for an estimate. The install was done prior to when originally expected. All the workers were courteous and did a good job of installing the fence and cleaning up after themselves. I will definitely hire them again if needed.

From the outset, S & V had to deal with several space problems. The 35+ yr. old privet hedge was almost on the property line where the new fence was to go. It had been trimmed down close to the ground when Scott first saw it, I wondered if there was room to put in a new fence. By the time the crew arrived, the first shoots of the privet were 4 ft tall and already hanging over the property line against the old fencing. It was difficult to line up the fence, but they stuck with it. The second part, was a taller fence where my yard shares with neighbors who have a German Shepherd. The poles were difficult to drive thanks to many maple tree roots. The extension to their shed was difficult because of the cement pad under it. The removal of the old fencing from this area was mostly done in driving rain. They took a break and were able to come back and finish the fence that keeps the dog in. I will admit, as a homeowner, I was a little frustrated because I was afraid they might tell me it was an impossible installation due to the constraints of the property line. That didn't happen, and they continued working until my requirements were met. We were laughing by the time they left for their next job before the rain started again. Next job will be to replace a 75 ft. stretch of old chain link that rugosa roses have taken over....of course they are set back from the fence further and will have been cut to the ground. S & V is a local company that has done other fencing for me. They are very knowledgeable about fencing; Dan, the foreman, has been in the business for many years, and he satisfactorily led the team in sun and pouring rain. Despite the problems the job offered up, S & V completed it to my satisfaction and Archer, the German Shepherd got a few more feet as a bonus. Thank you S&V Fence and Deck!

The person who called me wanted me to send him the plans another deck company had given us so he could do the quote without coming out. We were a little out of the territory but I was told when I first called they would be willing to do the work. The person who was supposed to come had car trouble and tried to get me to give him the details over the phone so he wouldn't have to make the trip which is approximately 40 miles. It ended up that I decided this wasn't the company for me.

Bruce suggested instead of replacing 2 runs of fence on an incline that I berm the area where the fencing is naturally higher. Company could have just put in 2 new pieces of fence, but the problem would have been the same. I have a small dog and will start fostering in the spring and wanted to be sure they wouldn't get out. Company could have just installed the new fencing, made the money, and I would have continued to block the holes. Bruce listened to my concerns, suggested an alternative, and was totally courteous. The men who installed the new posts (I wanted new posts) in concrete were able to pull down some of the adjoining fencing the anchors had pushed up. There was not much of the bottom of fence to block. The gate is straight now and opens both ways and the new poles are much stronger sunk in concrete. They were able to finish the job in about an hour. They worked hard and were professional and courteous besides. Cleaned everything up. Great reps of S and V Fence. The job got done earlier than my original appointment due to a cancellation allowing some smaller jobs to get done. Bruce called me first thing in the morning to get me on the list. S and V Fence went above and beyond to take care of my fencing needs and save me money. All A's in my book.

They were great to work with. Within a very short time of my confirming that I wanted them to do the job, they were at my house and beginning work. Very professional and conscientious. I have already recommended them to others.

The Sand V Fence crew did a great job and really listened to what we wanted them to do! They were very polite and friendly and got the job done.

They are a very good company. I would recommend them. They are a friendly, nice bunch of people and are easy to deal with. They did what they came to do in the time they said they would.

We had them give estimate to fence around our yard. After asking multiple times to call our landscaping company to mark out where the sprinklers were placed they finally did the day of install when we confronted them. Per what they said the landscaping company said there was nothing they could do about that, they gave us a different story. When we spoke with the sprinkler company we were told that had we called they would have come out and if there was any damage they would have fixed if for free, obviously one of them is lying. We also allowed them to change the plan and shorten our fence by two feet on each end as it made their work easier to do. They did hit multiple sprinkler lines both our neighbors and ours for which they initially said they would take care of it, nope we got stuck with the bill. They claimed that they already gave us a discount on the extra post they had to order and was not included in the original estimate because they measured wrong. Overall the quality seems to be good, only been in for two months now so we will see. We were not very happy with their customer service and how they gave my wife the run around with the whole sprinkler system deal. As much as we would have liked to challenge it none of us can afford to have our credit ruined and get turned into collections for $150.

The individual came out from the company and did the preliminary design and quote. When the gentlemen came on site the started going out from one of the posts, using the original design. It did not look good at all. They had my wife come out, showed her the issue, and they agreed on an altered design. The new design kept a similar look to the original, but then it created openings that were too large. The whole effect of providing a privacy screen was lost. So when they showed up the next day, we discussed the problem with the workers and they agreed to a third design that would make smaller openings, not much of a change but it did require them to take down and move the existing elements. When they finished, they noticed that the cross pieces, meant to carry the line of the railings on the deck through the new wall, looked awkward. They took one of the old tops and split it into the three pieces creating a false cap piece, which really brought everything together very nicely. The staircase they build is very wide, sturdy, and substantial - everything I had desired. In addition, they had cleaned up all of the cuttings from their work. Before we paid the second half, first half was due at the start and the rest when we were satisfied, we noticed a couple of items of concern. My wife contacted the company and arranged for them to come out to take a look. They fixed everything to our satisfaction and without a hassle. They stood by their work. Our neighbors have asked who did the work, because it is very nice. We have given out what cards we have, but I would definitely recommend this company.
