I had a leak under my cupboards, that's where my water pipes run. I called my home warranty company and they sent the Plumbing Company. The guy came looked at it and took a couple pictures. He said he would have to authorization from the warranty company because of the damage he would have to do to the cupboards to get to the leak. He then asked for $75 deductible, which I paid. I waited a couple of weeks and never heard anything. So then I called the Plumbing Company and left a message and got no response. So the next day, I called the warranty place, they said that nothing was ever submitted to them about the cupboard damage, so she would call them. So I waited another couple of days and still nothing, so I called the Plumbing Company again, she said the warranty place hasn't called you? I said no, so then I called the warranty company. They told me that the leak wouldn't be covered because of the "staining", water has been leaking since before I got the house and contract with them. I asked what staining, the water was all going under the cupboard so you couldn't see it? She said that I would have to take it up with the technician that came out. So then I called the Plumbing Company back and asked for him to call me. That was a week ago and I have still heard nothing.

Technician said he ran 75 feet of cable to clear out and clogs. Said he didn't really find anything. Haven't had any issue since tho. After he left I noticed that the wax ring under the toilet was all squished out and around the base of the toilet. Had to buy new ring and replace it. Pretty unprofessional.

They were unprofessional. They will come out unprepared. You cannot use any checks or credit card, enough to use cash which you do not know until I do that. They do not tell to skip the job done and it is not quality work. It was just a small company.

I called on Monday morning and when the woman I was speaking to learned I didn't have hot water, she offered to have someone come that same day. Since I was not available that day, we settled on the next day. The serviceman called 30 minutes before arrival as promised, giving me time to get there from work. He quickly determined the problem and had all of the parts needed to do the work. The job was done and I was on my way back to work in 90 minutes. I see that their reviews are often negative and wonder if that is more a reflection of other customer's satisfaction (or lack thereof) with the HSA home warranty that much of their work is done through. I had initially called another plumber who was very highly rated on Angie's list. Both times I called, a man answered and asked if the scheduler could call me back the next day. So, I called the plumbing company on the recommendation of a co-worker. I'm glad I did.

Description of Work: This was the company to be used by the home warranty. Have a hot water that goes out. They did come over in a timely manner and did tell us that the hot water heater was under warranty, something another plumbing company had not. Ordered a part and installed it but continued to have the same problem. The person who was out said that it had him stumped, he would need to think about it, and he would get back to us. That never happened. Still looking for someone with a solution to our problem.

They showed up about 1 hour late from the time it was scheduled. In the line of household water, we have a main household ball valve and a bypass ball valve for future water use equipment, such as water softener, which is downstream of the main household valve. We also have a separate line for irrigation and meter. During the installation of the water heater, I asked for information of how much they would charge for installing a water softener and something like that so the guy knew we would need a installation of water softener by somebody. His job was supposed to change the water heater and replace the leaking main household valve. After the job was done, I found my water bypass line is missing so did the backup valve. I questioned him where is my back up valve and bypass line. He said that valve was bad and also said it was for irrigation use and not useful for water softening. It did not make sense at all because we have a separate irrigation line and why we would have a valve for irrigation use after the main house use. I called HSA and the Plumbing Company on April 2, 2014 and reported him. This guy did respond and called back, he said this valve was put wrong and it was a faulty workmanship, and threatened to charge me for removing the valve. He is crazy and dishonest. He did not say he just want to make money of charging me more for if I later on hiring him for installing a water softener and he could charge me for building a bypass line for the softener. He is untrustworthy!

On January 2, I found out I didn't have hot water. I contacted HSA who sent an order to The Plumbing Company to come out and check out the issue. The next morning the technician arrived on time and immediately said the water heater needed replaced. He relit the pilot light but said he wouldn't guarantee it would stay lit.He'd complete the paperwork and HSA would get back to me. I contacted both the Plumbing Company and HSA later that afternoon (it was a Friday). HSA called them but the paperwork had not been turned in. When I spoke with the Plumbing Company, I was told the technician wouldn't get the paperwork in until the end of the day and they would get it turned in over the weekend. Late the following Monday morning, I called and they still hadn't processed the paperwork. It was the end of the day before it all got sorted out and the replacement was approved. I called to schedule them to come put the new heater in and was told it would be over a week before they had a slot available to do it. On January 14, the technician arrive 20 minutes late. After a couple of hours, he contacted me to say the heater they brought was defective. He called his boss who said to take it back to the supplier for an exchange. The supplier wouldn't exchange the heater so he then called the manufacturer and they said they would send (what he believed the correct part) to me overnight delivery. They then put the old, broken heater back in and said to call when the part arrived to schedule them to come back - it would be a priority. On the 16th, I called to say the part was here and when would they be out. I was told they wouldn't be able to come out until this afternoon (22nd) and I would be the last appointment of the day. The technician called me about an hour ago to say he was on his way to my house. I called him back to say I couldn't leave work this early and that I was supposed to be the last appointment of the day. He said that was not noted and wasn't sure if that would work for them. I am now waiting for a return call from someone, which I doubt I'll get. I'll be calling shortly to find out what's going on. What should have involved just a couple of hours out of the office has now taken over a 1/2 day away and I'm still waiting for the heater to be replaced. I am going to have it noted on my HSA account that I will not accept this contractor for future issues.

I called to schedule the appointment first in December after the drain our washer drains into backed up over the weekend. It had receded by the time I was able to talk with someone (on the following Monday). Due to the holidays, they were not available for quite a few days. At that point, I decided to not schedule.The drain backed up again on 1/13/14. I was able to talk with someone to schedule. The ONLY appointment she had was for 7am on 1/15/14. That was not ideal for my family and our schedule in the mornings, but we wanted the drain to be serviced and decided to accomodate the time. This morning, We got early so my husband, my daughter, and myself could be showered and ready before the plumber arrived. Around 7:15am, I became a little frustrated that they had not arrived and called to find out what was going one. Al answered the phone. He seemed surpirsed a service man had not arrived and said he would find out what was going on and call me back. Tweny minutes later, we had not had a phone calle so I called Al again. At that point he informed me that the job before us had gone longer than scheduled. I expressed my frustration appropriately and stated a phone call or some respect to our schedule would have been appreciated. Al responded by saying "I'm sorry but the world isn't perfect." Al had no respect for our time and did not seem to care about putting his customers out. He was rude and his disregard was beyond unacceptable. The service man finally showed up at 8:10am. The man that came was able to do his job in about 20 mintues. This whole review could have been much more positive had the dispatcher had taken the time to call and use common courtesy. I would hope our business would be of greater value to this company but I felt as thought it definitely was not important to them. I would never call this company or recommend to anyone.

The first experience I had with The Plumbing Company was a non-experience. As the assigned company through HSA Home Warranty I submitted a claim for a hot water line not working. After a week of waiting they had still not contacted me. The warranty company contacted them again and then 3 more days with no contact. I finally was able to get HSA to let me use a different plumber who was able to be out in 24 hours. The second experience was today. I again contacted the warranty company as my toilet wasn't working. Rather than wait for them to contact me I reached out to them. The person on the phone lied and said they had "just" received my claim when I got confirmation that it had been received an hour and a half ago. She stated they could maybe have someone out to my home in 3 days. A toilet is a pretty important part of a home so that just won't work. I would never use this company for anything and will be strongly suggesting to the warranty company that they end their relationship with this company.

This service provider was selected by our Home Warranty Company. They are not known for their excellence in plumbing, as I called around to a few other providers to ask about the situation and several of them guessed who had already been to my home.
Description of Work: We had a funky smell in the basement sometimes at a house we had just purchased. We knew there had been a gas leak before so wanted to make sure it was not a gas leak. I was not at home at the time the service man came and my husband is not into home repairs, so the information I received was second hand. The service individual stated there could be something missing in the plumbing in the basement causing the odors and that we would need to hire a company with a camera to go into our drains to check this out.

We have used the pluming co several times through our home warranty. The main guy that has come out is very nice, he is a younger guy but seems to know his stuff. We had a water heater leak and it had to be replaced. It happened on a friday and they were able to come out the same day but it was not actually replaced untill tuesday. I know there was some approvals that had to be done through the home warranty but it was miserable living with cold water and i wished the turn around was quicker. Also, when the old water heater was being drained, i had to provide him with a pot to use to dump out the water. He then left it in the basement on the floor when he was done. I wish that was done a little more professionally and cleaned up better around the area when he was done. When i had my garbage disposal replaced, the job was done quickly and everything was good.When I had a "puddle" in my basement of unkown cause, the plumbing co sent out a new plumber. He told us our sump basket was full (underneath a sink that the previous home owner installed) and that we had to install a sump pump (pretty big job that wasnt covered by warranty). We then had a second company come out (midwest basement systems) and they moved the sink to find out we didnt even have a sump basket at all, and it was just a clogged floor drain. To have this covered through warranty, we had to call the pluminb co back to have them unclog the drain. The normal guy came instead of the new guy and said the new guy was no longer with the company and left a mess for them since apparently he didnt know what he was doing. That clog was fixed quickly and so far so good....

Wonderful to work with The Plumbing Company! They explained everything in detail, came out multiple times to check things, and were very friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and were in and out quickly. They listened to me and my ideas and suggested ways to design things better. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Moved floor drain out of the main area of the basement and into the furnace room. Rerouted plumbing supply lines to move washing machine. Installed a laundry sink and moved both washer and dryer to furnace room. Installed dryer vent. Plumbed the basement for a bathroom, including sink, shower and toilet. Installed two backflow valves and a sump pump. Also had them install a new bathroom sink and faucet in the main level of the house.
