Jason and his helper did a fantastic job at a very reasonable rate. Jason was great setting up the appointment and arrived right on time. He and his assistant very both very friendly and polite and completed the job in quick time (had to get parts in between). A very pleasant experience and I will use Jason in the future if any needs arise. A+++++

Had a couple of relatively easy fixes - checking my water heater after getting some water in my basement and taking a look at my dish washer which wasn't draining. The latter Jason diagnosed over the phone. No issues with the work - was a quick visit but afterwards I had hot water and the ability to do the dishes, so count me as a satisfied customer.

The work was fabulous. He came on time and took little over 2 hours. Given its a finished basement, its pretty amazing to see his work. He walked me through the controls afterwards. Overall I am impressed with his work.

I had called about five plumbers and couldn't get same day service. Jason called me back within 20 minutes of my initial phone call and was able to squeeze me in (to be fair, it might not always be possible for him to do this, and had I lived somewhere else or needed something more extensive done, like a water heater replacement, it probably wouldn't have worked since he was fully scheduled). But in my case he was already going from a job from West Des Moines to Johnston, and I live along the route, to he graciously offered to swing by on his way and see if it could be quickly fixed. It turned out to be just a bad thermo-couple on the heater, something common that he keeps a supply of in his truck (at least for the common water heater brands like mine). He quickly took the old one out and put a new one in, and I was up and running with hot water again! He was friendly and I thought the price was reasonable for short notice same day service. Also, he didn't try to upsell me on anything either. He told me flat out that he tries to repair first if he can. But he was also honest with me up front and said that if it turned out to be anything other than a thermo-couple, given the age of the unit it would be best to go ahead and replace, because most other component repair jobs end up costing quite a bit more. But in my case it was just the thermo-couple, and he told me that he warranties his repair work for 30 days, and that if for some reason this doesn't fix my issue (it did) and it turns out to be something else within 30 days, he'll make it right and credit the repair charge towards the charge of the replacement job, which I thought was very reasonable. I've not had to make use of that offer though because things are working fine.

I can't say enough about how great he was. Initially I thought my garbage disposal needed replaced. To most plumbers that would have meant replace it without any questions asked. He instead made sure it was not just clogged before replacing. In this case it was just a clog. He was prompt, he was professional, and he did a fantastic job for a reasonable amount. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a plumber.

As everyone can see Jason gets outstanding reviews, but after our intial work that was completed approximately 3 years ago and a second encounter today, I feel I need to share our experience. I contacted Jason about 3 years ago to qoute us on an upstairs bathroom remodel. He was on time and very professional so we decided to go with him based on that and his reviews on this site. Everything seemingly went well until after all the work was completed and the bathroom was finished. The first time the tub was used some water got into the overflow on the new Kohler tub we had installed, which should be completely normal. The problem is that Jason had not installed the gasket correctly on the overflow and water had leaked down throught the ceiling and down the wall on our main floor. Realizing that this was going to be a problem we called Jason and scheduled for him to come back and check it out. Before checking the gasket the the first thing he tried was creating a hole in our ceiling to make sure the drain was hooked up properly. Now granted it's an older home and there had been some previous water damage that had occured over 15 years ago before we had moved in, but now we had about a 1 foot square hole in our ceiling. He did manage to get the gasket in place, although I'm not sure I really trust it in fear of another leak. The next issue I had with the tub install was when he was working on it he actually asked me to come in the bathroom and more or less raise one corner of the tub to level it as he screwed it into the stud. Having never installed a tub I thought nothing of it until later. That corner of the tub now creaks when it is stepped on and has settled more than anywhere else on the tub causing the grout to pull away from the tub. The grout is an easy fix but it's not very relaxing to hear that constant creak when you are in the bath. I'm not an expert but that is not the way a tub should be leveled. I did not ever say anything to Jason about it because at that point the only fix would have been to remove the tub, so I just decided it was something we would have to live with. So fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I notice what appers to be a blister from water damage below the surface of the wainscotting next to the edge off the tub. I started to investigate and I noticed that the spout and the controls could be moved side to side and the stout could be pulled out probably close to an eight of an inch or more. So again I call Jason. He arrived a little bit early and we took him upstairs to explain the problem. The first thing he did was step in the tub with his work boots on and assess the situation. We went down stairs and waited. After a couple trips to his car for tools he tells us about a half hour later that he was finished. He told us that he had snugged up the spout and checked for leaks and resealed the spout. While talking to him I asked him if spouts can just work themselves loose like that and he said it was very unlikely. So naturely I point out that he originally did the work and according to him it has been ilke that since he installed it. We had just never noticed how loose it actually was. My assertion was that water was getting in behind the wall throught the spout and running down the lip of the tub and behind the wainscotting. He told me I was wrong and that it was simply caused by water running off the side of the tub and wicking into the wall. It's hard to explain but based on the location of the damage his theory just doesn't seem plausible. The blister when it first started was actually above where any water would have left the tub. Either way, I now have another damaged wall that may or may not have been caused by the loose spout that by his own admissioin has probably been like that since day one. When we asked him what we owed him, honestly thinking it would be no charge due to everthing we had been through with him, he said it would be $65. Now I don't expect a lifetime warranty, and on the big scheme of things thats not that much money, but I was honestly surprised he charged us. Sorry for the long read but I really think this could be useful information.
