I can't say enough good things about this company (Iowa Moving1). So thankful to have found them. Every step of the process was excellent-from the initial reach out inquiry, to scheduling the move, to emailing me the quotes, to the day before the move call to confirm the work to be done, to them wrapping and protecting the furniture, to the crew calling 15 minutes before arriving, and team arriving on TIME and well within time frame quoted. Not to mention, the team of Dalton and KJ were awesome! They were so personable and helpful. (At one point I offered to help carry cushions in and KJ was like "you are welcome to do so however we invite our clients to sit back and relax and we can do all the work for you." So refreshing to have exceptional customer service these days.) This firm can also be hired to move furniture within rooms of a home or say from an upstairs bedroom to the garage for you to list items on social media and create welcome room in your home. (Thankful for them providing the muscles when it's needed.) The pricing is a good value and very straight forward. Again, A+ organization in the Des Moines area for moving or muscle needs!

This was our second time using Iowa Moving 1 and once again they did not disappoint. They showed up in a timely manner and got right to work. The crew was very nice, considerate and efficient with helping my parents move. They helped make what could have been a stressful move to a stress free move. I can’t thank them enough!

Crew was punctual and polite. However, many items were not wrapped in paper and were put into boxes with no cushion whatsoever. Framed prints hanging on the wall were not protected and loaded onto the truck with no protection. A speaker was damaged because it was loaded without a box or protection. Furniture dolly that I was going to use to unload the truck was loaded in front (not the cab) so I couldn't get to it until the truck was almost fully unloaded.

Wonderful, I have never seen such professionalism in a long time. They (the team) answered promptly and were on time when we met. Their attitude was great. If I ever need a moving company, I'll be calling Iowamoving1. This company is set apart from many others. Thanks Eric for your company.

Our family loves Iowa Moving 1!! They are AMAZING!!!! They have handled over 6 moves for various members of our family and Eric and his team always do a great job. They are on time, efficient, know what they are doing and are careful not to damage the furniture or the walls. This last move we really challenged them with a new 9' buffet that had to get down a flight of stairs that had a handing and a turn!! God bless Patrick and his team as this wasn't an easy task but they didn't give up until they had that 250 lb beautiful piece of furniture downstairs! Did I say it was NINE Feet!!!! You can trust your move to Iowa Moving 1!

I thought it would take much longer. The 2 young men that showed up immediately started carrying items out and positioning them into the Pod in such a way that every free space was filled. They worked fast, were really polite and did an amazing job. We will hire them again when our new home is finished and we're ready to move in.

Absolutely wonderful! They were the first company I used to move and have used them twice since then. I will be using them next time I move and could not recommend them more!!

The process is simple to get everything scheduled. Eric is very helpful and is an obvious expert in the field. Since this company provides moving labor only, you have to provide the truck and driver. It definitely cuts down on costs. They bring moving blankets, dollies, whatever you need for the move. For one of my moves, they were running late, but Eric called me multiple times, so that I was left waiting for their arrival and even offered to send extra help, so the move would go faster. I didn't choose to get extra help, because they're always SO fast! The movers themselves are hard workers and know what they're doing. In both my moves nothing was ever been broken or damaged. I would highly recommend Iowa Moving 1 for any moves you have in the future!

Everything went well. Both gentlemen were hard workers and very nice. Highly recommend Iowa Moving 1. They were very understanding as we had to change our date as house didn't close when we had expected. Worked with us to make it happen when we needed them. Super service, fast response to emails and phone calls.

Patrick and Drake provided excellent service. They arrived as scheduled, were very professional and completed the moves with care and efficiency.

Although there was a delay due to illness, 3 men came instead of 2. They unloaded and moved our belongings in 2.5 hours. They were extremely courteous and efficient. We were more than pleased with their effort. Anytime we need someone to assist us in moving, we will definitely call Iowa Moving 1.

I've worked with Eric Lloyd's teams a number of times over the years and have always been more than pleased with their professionalism and skill. Both of these were very important with this move because there was a lot of stress and anxiety involved; Eric and his crew were so compassionate and thoughtful in dealing with all aspects of this move. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

Inquired about having Iowa Moving 1 provided load/unload labor for a home to home move. I talked to Clayton over the phone in which he provided all the necessary information and rates for what I needed done. Overall a great experience with their professional staff in both phone and email communication.

The 2 gentlemen were right on time and worked so hard to get our daughter's house goods up to the 3rd floor. They were very pleasant and treated all items with care. This is an excellent company and would recommend using them again. I can't say enough good things about them. Reliable and hardworking!!

Clayton and partner (sorry, I forgot your name) were FANTASTIC! Extremely personable and patient as I had several glitches as the process started. They were careful with my things and very efficient! I ABSOLUTELY would recommend this team to anyone!

This was an absolutely horrible move. There were many problems. They broke our $150 floor lamp that was working fine before the move. They wrapped my jewelry box with saran wrap but not the top and now the top of my cherry wood box is completely scratched up. It looks like it was ran across gravel. My dresser is missing a handle now because it was broken off and we've been trying to find a match for the handle. So now I have to replace all the handles. I've taken pictures of everything that was broke or missing for proof. They also broke the legs off of a book case and broke the handles off of the file cabinets. They drug my mattresses across the ground while one of the workers just sat in the truck and didn't help. The movers and the owner of this company have been terrible to me. The owner has been harassing me and talking down to me saying I want a free move. I don't want a free move just my stuff fixed. This has been a terrible experience from start to now. Now he wants me to pay half of the bill but I will not due to this awful experience. There was a misunderstanding about bed bugs as well. I had my mattresses wrapped in a bed bug prevention bag only to prevent me getting bed bugs. We do not have bed bugs but the owner said that we had them and this is why he would not use his blankets and moving supplies. Again, we do not have them nor have had them. UPDATE 1/2/2015: This situation has not come to a resolution at this time and I have decided to take Iowa Moving 1, LLC to small claims court in order to get it taken care of. I feel that everything they stated in their reply to my review is false and misrepresents what actually happened. This is not a company that I would ever work with again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

I am very happy with the service. We had to stop along the way and pick up more furniture at a store and it wasn't an issue for them. I would use them again if I move.

I first inquired by email and received a response with a couple of hours. Every single thing about this company is professional. Much of the contact was handled easily by email. However, the owner also was readily available to answer my questions by phone. We received timely courtesy calls confirming the movers' arrival time, and they were absolutely punctual. The men who made our moves were very respectful, knowledgeable, careful, efficient, and exceptionally skillful in moving large, awkward pieces, as well as more delicate antiques. They worked quickly and with good humor and had the job done in short order. From start to finish, Iowa Moving 1 exceeded our high expectations. They are the best!

We were called the day before to confirm the appointment. We were called the morning of the appointment to confirm that the crew was on its way. The crew arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time. They worked quickly and efficiently. And, they were pleasant people to boot. They finished the job in less time that was estimated. Couldn't ask for more.

The loading of the U-Haul truck went smoothly. Even when things looked iffy in terms of fitting in nicely Dan (the BRAINS) was able to re-organize certain items and use every nook and cranny of space. A friend and I watched as he maneuvered the various size boxes to ensure that it fit and that furniture would not be scratched. U-Haul had no moving cloths so we improvised with quilts and comforters and that worked well. By the time Lance (the MUSCLE) brought everything down a few things needed to be re-arranged however, the end product was a piece of art. I took pictures to commemorate how nicely packed everything was. I also hired someone on the other end to unload the truck and as a former mover he was extremely impressed with how neatly everything was organized. Nothing was broken. Everything was in one piece. Thanks to Eric for fitting me into a tight schedule and Dan and Lance for a great job and great attitude!
