Haggerty Windows & Siding

Carpenter was excellent.

On balance, not a good experience with Haggerty. Will try and be factual and objective, but realize the later may be hard to do. I was referred to them by a trusted co-worker after hail damage to my roof. The company quickly sent out an inspector, they proved a quote and the work was approved by our insurance company. We selected the materials and colors and delivery of the materials was timely. The work was started in November of 2019 - note I said started but not finished. The roof went on quickly and though there were a few corrections needed, it went as well as could be expected. Four downspouts that were to be replaced weren’t, and remain that way to this day - over 9 months later. Additionally, they didn’t replace the leaf guards in all areas of the gutters and several gutters were clogged with roofing debris, which continues to cause overflow issues and is damaging the landscape below. Finally, they left the yard in a troubling state of cleanliness due to the amount of debris, tacks and roofing nails left behind. To this day, I continue to pick nails out of the yard and only hope my dog doesn’t get one. This spring, we contacted them about finishing and they were most apologetic. Yet, nothing happened despite multiple exchanges of emails. We had been holding back $5,000 until the work was completed but in a gesture of good faith, I paid them $4,000 (wish I hadn’t now). They finally sent a guy out to measure the downspouts and look at the missing gutter guards. And despite his good attitude and promises, we still don’t have the work completed. We were told that since ours was such a small job, it was hard to get attention to it (of course, when the project was initiated it wasn’t a small job). I’ve informed Haggerty management that regardless of whether they finalize the work or not, I would not be releasing the final $1,000 due to the extreme delay, though I hoped as a Des Moines based company they would act responsibly and complete the work. That has not happened and I will now need to hire another company to complete the work (and then it’s likely a small claims suit to recover the difference in costs). In good conscience I can’t recommend this company, and that is unfortunate as they nearly got it right. But they really got it wrong in the end.

They showed up and finished in the approximate schedule they provided. The issues we did have were typically small, like bits of debris left in the yard. They worked with us on the price for both the roofing and the siding to keep both together. When we had other issues, they were easy to work with. One of the band board features didn't line up with windows very well, so they contacted us to cofirm what we wanted and change it up to get a better look. The new foundation paint was slightly off the siding color, so they repainted with no hassle. Overall, they worked fast, and did a terrific job on both the siding and the roofing.

They were wonderful!! We live in a really old house and had them replace old kitchen/bathroom windows a couple of years ago and we noticed a DRASTIC improvement! When we decided to get the rest of them replaced, we called them first!! Highly knowledgeable and helpful! We had a few other quotes from competitors, but they were all the type that offered the "get this now or never", which we did NOT like, and all of their windows were only middle of the line. We originally wanted 3 windows replaced, the other guys came in and told us their "deals" and told us to sign now or forget about it....I politely told them to leave, (or impolitely), as I was not giving into the first guy that came around. Anything I spend over $100, I do ALL of my research and listen to all bids I put out. Ryan Haggerty came over and offered us one of their BEST windows for MUCH less than the others, so far bellow, that we just had them replace the original 3 and big one in our office too, and the price STILL came out lower. When we decided this year to do the rest, it was a no brainer, I called them immediately. We have been VERY HAPPY with these windows so far and actually just put in another order for some of our basement windows. If you are looking for windows, do NOT fall for the "scam" people that come over with a whole show planned out, just call Haggerty, you will be so happy you did! We are! The Allison's Des Moines, IA

Haggerty's gave a good estimate & followed up to see what I had decided. Work was timely & done well.

Set appointment time to have property reviewed for bid. 5 minutes prior to appointment received call stating they would have to reschedule and that they would call me back later to reschedule (I understand things come up and schedules change so wasn't upset) . Never received call back so I called office back and left a message with a person asking for reschedule time (person who answered phone could not book times for some reason). Finally got a callback several weeks later asking if I was interested in the bid/estimate I never received. Overall just felt like a poorly organized operation and I didn't give them my business.

This is a short chronological summary of my experience when I requested a roof quote and installation from Mike Haggerty, the owner. 1. Called and requested roofing replacement bid. (Completed bid visit and had bid in 24 hours!) 2. Accepted bid with 48 hours as it was very fair and met Mike at his office and pick out materials and signed contract. He agreed to provide lien waivers and COI for work being done without question. 3. Had lien waivers in COI in 24 hours and said work was scheduled for 6 days out based on current schedule. 4. Based on high wind they called 24 hours early and proactively said they would like to move back one day to be safe. 5. Arrived promptly the next day and started. Since this is winter, they said they would prefer to tear off only sections they could get installed in one day. Completed 1/2 of entire job in one day. 6. SNOW!!!! 10-12". 1 day delay until snow stopped falling. 7. They came out next day and crabbed their way upto to the ridge line and started pushing snow off roof. Completed rest of rood that day. 8. Last day Luke came out and made connections for new bathroom vents I had them cut new opening as old pipes terminated in attic. Observations They are quiet, clean, and courteous and work diligently. They clean up well and spread tarps down every day. Disclosures The crew is a subcontractor, but has been working with Haggerty for over 5 years. Luke, the main contact point with the sub is great to work with and proactively communicates and issues or concerns. I started with my roof to find someone I could trust. Mike is very fair and easy to work with. I will be contactng them for bids on siding and windows as well Will highly recommend them.

They were the cheapest quote for the same comparable windows of any vendor I quoted with. There was a backlog of the window maker that delayed the install by a week, but the install was still late from what they promised. The install of the windows went without a hitch and they did a great job. The only reason I didn't give them an "A" was the broken promise of the install date. If you're not under a tight deadline for the install, I would go with them every time.

The windows look awesome! The installation looks fantastic! They were very professional and polite. They cleaned up as they went and even adjusted my storm door real quick that was not closing right! They repaired a couple areas of rotted wood instead of just covering it back up. Everyone that I have been in contact with at Haggerty's has been wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend them.

place in line. I respect that Haggerty didWe are very pleased with the quality of the material and workmanship.. The installation crews were just great. They communicated with us regularly and made suggestions which were very helpful. Josh and Eli and their crews are very friendly and an asset to Haggerty. Ryan Haggerty himself was very helpful and professionsl. We have additional work to be done next year and will definitely be using Haggerty. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected for the work to begin, but I now understand. This firm has a backlog of work.and we needed to take our turn. I appreciiate that Haggerty is able to maimntain the quality of their work crews..

They are absolutely excellent. Their customer is service is very good. They have done above average work so far.

I was satisfied with the initial install of the windows. The first guy did a nice job, but the younger guy did a poor job. He got caulking all over the window, which took me 3 hours to clean. The seams around the window weren't even and the window isn't secured properly. I have made numerous calls to them and I was told someone would get back to me and they have been unresponsive.
