A1 Siding Inc

I paid $6500 as a down payment on 9/1/10, to help cover the cost of the windows and part of the labor for them to be installed. Finally on 11/17/10, they began and worked slowly, and took multiple smoke breaks and joked around a lot while working on the windows. On 11/18/10, after the 4th window was installed, I had them stop as the work looked terrible! The windows were not ordered in the correct size, and they were using caulk and vinyl to try to fill in the gaps between my old existing window frame and the new window. I questioned their methods, and thought that there should be a new window frame with the windows, but was told they did not need a new frame. Bob, the owner, wanted to finish the job with the remaining 21 windows and said they could come out in the Spring to install larger windows (but I am not comfortable having them do the job, as their workmanship is lacking). He also said he could come out and fix some of the siding on my home, as there was a small amount of hail damage this summer; again, I declined as I do not trust their workmanship. I contacted ProVia Doors and Windows, the manufacturer of the windows, as I felt the windows should have been installed using a new frame, not the existing frame. They agreed that A-1 should have used new frames, not just new windows. I want my money back, as I am not satisfied with the workmanship or the windows (which are the wrong size) and will use a different company to install the windows properly. I would advise others to stay away from A-1 Siding and Windows.
