They charged me to repair the furnace they installed incorrectly. Originally, the furnace was not wired correctly when it was installed. This caused the furnace to quite working and they had to replace a part. The first time it occurred, they sent a repairman who replaced the part at no cost. I had to call them a second time to take the same repair and this time the repairman corrected the bad wiring. Initially they did not charge me however, they later sent me a bill. When I called to protest, they would not hear it. I requested to speak to the owner several times and never received a reply from him. Eventually, they threatened to send me to collections.

Description of Work: Peterson does all my furnace work as well as seasonal maintenance. I like to use a locally owned business that knows where their repair men are and what they are doing. I get accurate information from the guy that worked on the furnace. The bigger companies do not really know what went on when I would have a question.

The experience was fine. They came out when they said they would. The price was reasonable. They cleaned up their mess when they were done. They didn't leave anything. They are reliable. It's been a family business for a long time.
Description of Work: I used the services of Peterson Air Conditioning & Heating Service Inc last June. They serviced my air conditioner.

So they replace all those parts I use the unit a few more times turn it off for the season. Turn it on end of May 2011. All the sudden motor isn't running again. I call Petersons and they tell me they'll come look at it for $80 dollars an hour charge. I didn't feel I should have to pay this since they were suppose to have fixed it the year before. So I called a different company that a friend recommended. They came out and said I had the wrong motor and capacitor in my A/C unit and thats why it blew up again. I called Petersons to tell them this information and all they say is they put the right one in. My unit needed a single stage motor and is not a high efficiency . The motor they put in was a dual stage motor for a high efficiency unit. Completely different. They were so rude to me. Basically didn't care at all about what had happened. Thought very hard about small claims court, but didn't feel like adding another $100 of court costs to the growing pile. The lady on the phone pretty much demised me and told me welcome to homeownership. I would never recommend these people to anyone. I wonder if there not out there now installing wrong parts in other peoples units. With so many businesses out there to choose from do not give your money to someone who will not do it right.
Description of Work: The air in my 5 year old unit was not blowing cold air so I called Peterson and they came out. told me I needed a new motor and capacitor and added coolant. total of 390 dollars

Description of Work: Peterson's put a new motor and capacitor in my daughter's air conditioner in late Aug. of 2010. She used the unit about 2-3 weeks before the end of the season. When she turned it on in the spring of 2011, it would not work. She had paid $400.00 for the previous work. The rude lady she talked to said that was the price of home ownership. My daughter moved into the house the end of July, 2010. She indicated it would be a while before they could look at it, but if she wanted it right now, it would be about $120.00/hour. Also the rude lady said there was no guarantee on the work performed. She found another company to look at the unit. Come to find out, the wrong MOTOR had been installed and would not work with the rest of the unit. When she called Peterson to tell them and see if they would reimburse her for installing the wrong motor, the rude lady said no, they had done nothing wrong. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Called about work they had fixed and was told no warranty on parts or labor. Welcome to home ownership. Very rude and unprofessional.
Description of Work: AC was not working in house just moved into. Called Petersen and they came and replaced motor, capacitor and added cooling fluid. Charged $400.00. I used the AC one month and then turned it on again 2 days ago (5/9/2011) and it did not work. Called Petersen to see about a warranty on their work or parts and was told , NO. When I complained, the lady said, "welcome to homeownership". $80.00 for regular service, but I would have to wait a week or emergency service would be $118.00. Very rude person answering the phone. Will not call again.

Peterson came out to work on furnace not working at rental property. No heat. They said the breaker possibly overloaded and tripped circuit. Took out transformer and replaced. 2 days later, no heat. Furnace still not working. This time replaced thermostat. They said the furnace was sharing circuit and should not be, but they were the ones that installed it!! We called to ask the manager to call us as we had a question on the bill. We called 3 times. We never did get an answer.

We got estimates from several places and their's was the lowest. They told us it would take a few days to install. After three days, it was almost done, but not completely. I called to find out when it would be finished because it was getting cold outside and we didn't have any heat. It took several calls and several messages, but someone finally called back to say they would have it done by the end of the next day. They finished, but it seemed a little rushed. There were lose wires hanging out everywhere and the access panels were not attached securely. One panel even fell off and hit me in the shin when I walked into the room. Ouch. The furnace seems to work fine, but overall it was only a "fair" job. They need better communication and better attention to detail.
Description of Work: We had a new high efficiency furnace installed.

A/C unit was damaged by falling ice. Insurance asked for quote so I called Petersons who had installed the unit originally to give me an estimate. They came right out, gave the estimate, we got the unit replaced by them and sent the insurance payment to them. Very professional and efficient. A month or so later we got a bill for $65... when my wife called to question it we were told by the owners wife that it was for the service call to give the repair estimate. They advertise free estimates so when asked about this my wife was told that it was not an estimate, it was a service call and we had to pay the bill. After some discussion the owners wife REFUSED to back down and was very rude and snotty... we paid the bill... and will never be back... I hope the $65 was worth the loss of 2 confirmed customers because my mom and dad had been using them too...
Description of Work: Replaced A/C unit (outdoor condenser) only
