Farrell's Heating & Air Conditioning

It was memorial day weekend My ac just stopped working i called Farrels and they sended a guy he stayed for 2 hours, called 2 different people because he did not know how to fix it, he removed a few wires told me that he coul not do it and sugested that i buy a $8000. Unit from him and he charged $291.00 for nothing.

Our heater was not turning on so call them for a service call. They came the next day. The service guy was very nice and knowledgeable. This is a small thing but he had the nicest hand writing I have ever seen. I have horrible hand writing so this was something I noticed and it was very nice to be able to read his work order and the est for a new heater. He gave us three options and talked to us about which was the best. The next day they called to answer any questions we had and we were able to settle on a model and a day for install. The day of the install the workers showed up early and were able to get it done in one day. They were very clean and did a great job. After they were finished they showed me what they did and asked if I had any questions before they left that day.

We needed someone to look at our in-warranty system installed by another company. After saying they would look at it, they called back the next day to refuse service.

Everything went better than we ever thought. NO MESS and our house is so much more comfortable. We never realized how outdated our system was and what we could have. The price was reasonable and the service impeccable.

We've had many (repeat that, many) different company's work in, around and on our home. By far, Farrell's was the best experience we've ever had. We had several quotes from other company's, but none spent as much time with us determining what could would and should be done. Several hours were spent with us before we even committed. This was a big project and they took the time to make sure things were done in the best and least intrusive manner. The installers were absolutely stellar. They were careful and considerate in our home and very pleasant to have around for the 6+ days they spent in our home. I find it hard to believe that anyone would rate Farrell's poorly. We had nothing but a good experience.

Called to schedule a service check because my A/C would not cool, the company was very accommodating and responded it a timely manor also called ahead to confirm and service tech arrived on time. The service technician told me that the system was low of freon and that the system had a leak and advised that the system needed to be replaced at a cost of around 3200.00. After speaking with the tech and asking if we could do anything else to get us by until early next year he said that he could fill the system with stop leak and replace the missing freon and this would get it going and get us through this summer at the cost of 360.00 I said ok and he did the work, after the work had been done the unit still would not cool then he stated that the system pressures were good and unit should be cooling after about 30mins he stated that the system compressor (valve) was bad and letting the high side bleed into the low side and the system would need to be replaced and wanted to give a estimate when I decided to replace it. Before leaving he told me to just run it and call him back if it still did not cool, so we did and the unit never cooled. we called the company back a week later to check it again as the tech instructed us to do, again he was on time and called before arriving he went to the outside unit and hooked up his gages and said that there was no change and the system need to be replaced he said he would have his sales person call and give an estimate and could get financing on the new unit. The next day I spoke with another company to get a second estimate to replace the system,when the tech arrived he checked out the whole system in and out told me that the system was 2 lbs of freon overcharged and that the system was in great shape he said we had a bad switch that was allowing the heating system to run at the same time as the A/C system and this was causing the cold air to be re-heated which resulted in hot air in the home. He had to remove the extra freon that Farrells installed, replace the switch and the system is cooling as if new my home cooled down from 89 dirgrees to 68 in two hours and has been cooling great ever since. He also told me that the system was never low of freon because the 2 lbs he had to remove is what the Farrells tech put in and charged me for also that the over charge could have damaged the system if I had ran it very long. His total cost: Service charge 75.00 Parts 25.00 100.00 total and the system is going strong. On 06/06/2011 I called Rick Farrell at Farrell's heating and A/C and told him about the issue and he stated that I was lying and the system needs to be replaced and his techs are always right, I said then why is my system working now and your tech did not fix it he was very rude and when I asked for a refund he said he would like one too and the conversation ended. Also just so you know this system is on the old side (about 10 years) and will need replaced at some point but not now and when it does I will Be calling someone else NOT Farrells.
