Description of Work: We hired Charlie to install 11 total windows in our home. He arrived at our home, and wrote us up a contract with the breakdown for all the cost totaling $4290.00. Charlie informed us that we would need to give him all but $1000 of that to even get the windows ordered so we wrote the check in which he drove right to the bank and cashed that same afternoon. He was supposed to return to our home on Memorial wknd of 2012 to begin installation. Well, the weekend came and went with no contact from him. I called him the following Tuesday, and of course he said our windows were on back order still, but they should be coming in the next week. This game continued the entire summer until he just stopped returning our calls or texts. He then started to respond by recording an audio message to his phone and sending it to us that way. By the time the end of August came around I had told him that I wanted all of my money back or I was gonna take him to court. He sent a text saying he would put a certified check in the mail that friday, but of course we never saw it. We played this game again until Oct. when I received a letter from an attorney that he had write a letter for him asking for 30 more days to get me payment, but that never happened. I even called that attorney to inquire about what was going on, and I was told; "I know nothing about it, I just wrote the letter for the man" (good business from an attorney as well). I guess, shame on me for not doing my research a little better. Charlie does have a list a mile long on the internet public records. To bad I didn't know this before I hired him. Needless to say, I took him to small claims court at the end of 2012, and he never showed, but did write the judge a letter stating he would pay me starting Jan 2013 @ $75 a month. It is now April 2014, and I haven't seen a dime. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!!

+ -1 moremr barker, at first gave a very convincing spiel about how much work would be done and at what cost even writing a contract detailing the payment plan we had agreed upon and when the work to build a 6 ft privacy fence as well as other jobs along the way as well as offering references and addresses where he had completed other jobs in the area so i could see his work, the whole time he was planning a con that he had (after the fact i found out) completed several times before. ultimately after enough time and many excuses later i filed to sue for recoupment of the almost 2000 dollars he had received with gladly being able to get back all of it by way of freezing his bank account only to be awarded half due to the law that states i cannot take all that was in the account leaving him with nothing yet this law does not take into account the debts and out of pocket cost i have incurred through this process, never the less i was duped by this man that makes his living off of coning people out of their hard earned money while he lives up the lap of luxury. DO NOT hire this man

+ 0 moreHe was supposed to complete all of these things but kept coming up with excuses for why he couldn?t. At first we understood, his grandson had cancer, so we gave him leeway. It has now been 3 years and he still hasn?t completed the work even though we paid him. We took him to small claims court but he never showed up and has never responded to any appeals. We haven't heard from him at all and we need our money back or the job to be completed.
Description of Work: He built a garage. He was supposed to put siding on our house, enclose the front porch and install new windows, and only completed 95% of it. He also only completed 10% of a deck installation and then didn’t do several other things on the contract. We hired him because he was a friend and he offered us a good deal.
