Josh's Custom Electric LLC

During a storm a large tree fell on my property taking down the power line that runs from the main source into my home. After the power company deemed my property unsafe they had to turn my power off. As soon as I was informed of this I started calling around to electricians to get the support pole and meter fixed. I found out that afternoon most electricians stop working at 3:30 or 4 pm. I was referred to Josh by a general contractor who works with him regularly. He promptly called me about 30 minutes later. He said he would stop by the following day. He came by the following morning to assess the damage. He wrote down which parts he needed and was able to come back within a few hours. When he was done, he called the power company for me so they could hook my power back up. Overall I was without power for only 20 hours. I was very pleased with Josh's professionalism, promptness, and willingness to help me out in time of need! Considering the damage in the area due to this storm, I felt well taken care of.

Josh did quick quality work with an extra set of hands to make sure everything got finished in 1 day. His prices were good as well, the problem was actually getting him out here to do the work. I was playing phone tag with Josh for about 2 months. I was able to speak with him almost every time I called but he kept putting the work off for one reason or another. We' would set a date and then call the day before and tell me he couldn't come out and would have to reschedule. I thought this to be very strange but I wasn't in a big hurry. One day he called and again said he wouldn't be able to come out the next day. When I inquired about the later in the week he said he didn't think he'd be able to. I asked why and he replied that it was really hot outside and didn't like working when it was hot. I was in shock, I just didn't know what to say to him. I couldn't believe he would actually say that. Well, we set a date for the following week. After we hung up I thought about calling the whole thing off and get a different electrician but I had already waited so long for him. If he didn't come next week I would tell him to simply forget it and get somebody else. As it turned out he did come the next week. I was just glad to have the work finished.

It took several weeks from initial contact with Josh to have him actually come to the home, there were delays and he was hard to get ahold of and set a firm date. He also did not do any clean up with his work, there was dust and drywall pieces laying around when he left. Although he did good work at a fair price due to the difficulty of getting ahold of him and the lack of clean up I would not use him again.

I called Josh on Monday about my electrical needs. He was pretty busy this week and asked if the following week would work. Unfortunately, I had renters moving in the that weekend. He fit me in to his schedule, arrived as planned, and completed the work as promised. One important thing for me as I work with different trades ... when done, the areas he worked were clean and trash was disposed of. I will definitely be referring him to friends and family.

The work of Josh's Custom Electric LLC was excellent. It was impeccable. They did a great job. It was all done very quickly, in one day. They have to cut off the power to the house, for the time that he's working on it. They get it done in one day, so you have power that night. He did a great job. He got in there and banged it out and got out. The only issue I have with him is that it took me a very long time to get him to actually come out to do the job. The reason he gave me was that it was kind of hot inside. It's really hot all year, so I don't know how much business he's going to be able to do. He came out and took a look at it and went ahead and pulled the permit for it and then it was six or eight weeks until I actually got him out. Other than that, he did great work.

Final bill was lower than the original estimate. Nice guy.

Great. I called and he was able to come within 1 1/2 hours. Very nice. Comfortable to be around. He figured out the problem on his first try. He then called electric company and waited until the guy arrived and confirmed his diagnosis and got working. Made sure I was completely satisfied before leaving.

,I had found Josh on Angieslist and was impressed with the reviews. He definitely lived up to them. He is very courteous,reasonable,and takes pride in his work and clean up. We will use him again for any electrical in the future.

Josh is WONDERFUL -- he should be every homeowner's first choice. [We'd originally called a company across town who could get there the next day, but we cancelled when we found out that they charged $70/hour just for travel time to and from the site (and it would have been about 30 minutes each way). They also said they don't repair light fixtures so they'd just detach the one that needed new sockets, let us take it on our own to someone who could fix it, and then they'd come back to put it back up for us. We calculated that the total cost would have been well over $200.] I think 'Josh's Custom Electric' is a one-man shop. Josh was already committed elsewhere the next day, but was available the day after -- it was well worth the extra day's wait. He offered to bring a couple of sockets with him to repair the second light fixture himself. He first found the pinched wire in the recessed light above the sink, and fixed it so we'd no longer get a 120-volt shock. He then examined the other fixture and reported that the sockets weren't actually that corroded. He applied a special lubricant to all the sockets, saying it would make the bulbs easier to screw in and out without breakage. It must have helped make a solid connection too, as all three sockets now work perfectly. Total bill: less than $70. Josh was kind and personable, as well as knowledgeable and trustworthy. You'll get a fair price and quality electrical service from Josh's Custom Electric. (If he's good enough for my mother, he's good enough for you too.)
