I engaged the services of tennis appliances llc. out of ottumwa Iowa to fix a broken dryer. The dryer had a broken belt. They answered my call immediately and said that someone would be in the area tomorrow afternoon after 2pm. I said that would be fine and sure enough the repair man called me about 3 and we met at my house about 4. So far so good. It was pretty hot in the garage being it was in the middle of the big heat wave, but certainly not unbearable as there is some ac in there. He struggled pretty hard to get the belt on and after about 3 attempts he finally succeeded. He complained the whole time about how hot it was and as soon as he got the belt on he announced that he was too hot to finish, and that he had to go home. He was clearly flustered. He also showed me some loose wires, and said that he couldn't put them back because they weren't labeled right. He said he would come back later in the week. Being out of clean clothes and not looking forward to a bigger bill, I went to the internet and did an hours worth of research. The short story is that every wire that was loose was clearly labeled as was the matching points where they attach to the dryer itself. It took me 10 minutes to finish fixing it, and i'm a farmer, not an appliance repair man. Once again, for a professional it should have been an easy fix, but he was frustrated and just wanted to go home. If he'd of made even a slight attempt to figure it out he'd of been done in 10 minutes or less and I'd be writing a nice report instead of this one. About a week later I got a bill for $113.69. $31.25 for a new belt. They are about $10 on Ebay, but that's alright, you expect a markup. And $75 for a service call. Not a bad bill at all, IF he would have finished the job or at least worked for a whole hour. I called them up and ended up talking to the same guy that came to my house. I said I didn't feel I should have to pay $75 since he didn't work an hour, and didn't finish the job. I offered to pay $50 of the $75, and he rudely refused saying that he was hired to fix a belt, and thats what he did. When he left my house the dryer was in several pieces. I guess i'm going to write a check for the whole thing because I don 't want to risk my credit, but it was a very unpleasant experience. I would definitely not use Tennis appliance again!
Description of Work: He did replace the dryer belt after multiple attempts and lots of complaining He did not leave my dryer in a working condition
