Description of Work: Re-Roofed our home after Hail Damage. The initial quote process went well and they sold themselves as an in-state company. We ended up with a subcontracted crew from Texas which didn't really do the quality job that we were expecting. It was acceptable but not really what we were expecting.

They did not replace any damaged boards or admit they were there after the fact when they came with there bill. Refused to fixed damaged or refund amount need to have someone else do the job. Could not talk with any of the workers for no one spoke English tried to tell them about the boards. Do not hire this company for any work you will be the loser.

They did the work quickly and were careful about not damaging the house. They covered the area where they were working with tarps, including the 2 story side of the house. The job looked good after they were finished. They rolled the yard with a magnet to pick up nails after the job. However, one small lower roof leaked so we had to have it replace within the first year, and we could never contact Hahn or find them to fix it. The whole roof only lasted 2 years before we had another hail storm. Also, we had nearly new gutters on the house. They took off the gutters and threw them out, I wish they would have saved them or at least tried.
Description of Work: Removed old roof that consisted of many layers and then replaced roof deck sheeting and shingles.

This business is not located in New Sharon. The Fort Dodge business by the same name is too far to come to Grinnell for a small repair job.
Description of Work: Came all the way from Fort Dodge to Grinnell to give an estimate on a very small bit of work. Thankfully, they were there for another job, too.

They sent an itinerate group of workers from Texas. Roof looks awful. Heaved up and uneven. Looks worse than old roof, but at least we haven't noticed any leaks yet. When I complained, they sent a guy to check it out when I wasn't home. He said that the shingles would look better when weather warmed up. They never did. We will probably have to replace it, but would not consider this outfit again.

They did a great job. They came when they were suppose to and finished the job in four days. The roof looks 10 times better than it did before! I thought their pricing was fair. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We recently use Hahn Roofing. They removed the old roof. Then they installed a new roof and gutters.

We shopped several local roofing companies and got bids below $10K for the complete job (including new gutters). We felt we needed more input so we called Hahn. Sales rep Joey came out, checked the roof and came back with the highest quote of all the companies we checked. We sat down and he explained exactly why it was higher and how Hahn may not be the cheapest bid but how they would do it the right way. Joey knew his products and crews and took the time to answer all of our questions. After some negotiation we agreed to a price and scheduled the work. Joey said it would be about 2-3 weeks to get the shingles in and start the work. Unfortunately it turned out to about 8 weeks. In fairness though it was a busy roofing season because of all the hail damage. We had to call Joey a few times to get updates but he always returned our calls. Finally the shingles showed up and the roffing crew arrived a few hours later. They used a crew from Texas with about 8 guys total (only one or two spoke English well). That's not a criticism in any way..just a fact. They worked extremely fast and did a good job quality wise. One issue- My wife watched them put the first few shingles on and they only put in 4 nails per sheet instead of the 6 nails per sheet Joey told us they would. She told the crew leader (very friendly) and he immediately corrected it. Overall, I would recommend Hahn and would use them again. Just make sure you plan in advance for "delays".
Description of Work: We needed to have our home's roof reshingled after hail storm damage. Our home is a ranch style built in 1974 and the roof is fairly large (approx. 2500 sq. ft.) with several peaks/valleys. We looked at getting new shingles, roof vents, ice shields, and gutters. The quote also included them replacing some plywood if they found it bad in spots. We opted to get heavy 50 year shingles and the added warranty protection just to be safe.
