They finished most the work in a reasonable amount of time. After the windows were replaced most of the windows had the trim marred so we had to fix that and none of the trim in the sun-room would work so we had to spend days cutting, staining and installing the trim. They never mentioned that we would have to fix and replace most of the window trim inside the house. We were also installing a deck off of the sun-room patio door after the windows and siding were installed. We were told that the they would come back to finish the aluminum trim around a floor to ceiling window after the deck was installed. They also had several other small finishes that they would come back and do then. We made the mistake of paying them the final payment. I called them several times about adding the finish on the window and other small items. I received a call back saying they would come back soon. After a few months they never showed after several more calls. I contacted the BBB about them as well. We ended up having to spend several hundred more dollars to make all the finishes.
Description of Work: We had insulated vinyl siding, a sliding patio door and all new windows installed. We have a large sun-room that we wanted to have very large windows and add a sliding door too. They came in with the best prices for this large job.
Initially, excellent to work with. Owner and supervisor plus one crew head provided initial consultation and estimate, helping us to choose the right siding and a color scheme. They told us what crew would work on our house and provided references to jobs done by that crew. However, when the crew showed up it was not the one we were told would be doing our job. Initially, we were told the job would take less than two weeks, but with our slow and careless crew of two, the job ended up taking all summer. Often, only one of the crew members would show up. Additionally, the supervisor rarely came around. When inspecting the siding ourselves, we found it wavy and with larger seam gaps than normal. Calls to their main number went unreturned. Finally, we obtained the owner's cell phone number and called him, refusing to pay until the job was done "right" (which meant level siding and tighter seams). Then, the gutters. Come to find out, the company does not do gutters; they subcontract. When ready for the gutters to be installed, the other company did not show until over a week later (leaving our house with no gutters during heavy rain which then seeped into our basement and caused damp carpet and mold growth). Finally, the gutters were installed. The first rain came. Looking out the windows, the rain poured down in sheets all along the house, running behind the gutters. We called Robison Siding's owner on his cell and told him to immediately come out. Then, he had to get in touch which the gutter company owner who sent out a different crew to correctly install the gutters. Additionally, gutter guards were included in our quote but not in the job request Robison passed on to the gutter company, thus causing another delay. Please note: final cost was higher than estimate due to the discovery of rotted framing on the chimney, thanks to improper roof flashing when the house was built. As a result, the chimney had to be rebuilt and the roofing near the chimney redone. This was done by their supervisor, who did excellent work. He also installed our porch railing and did a fine, efficient job. Too bad he didn't do the actual siding. Last but not least, when the first real winds came, the siding came off of one whole side of our house, requiring another call to the owner, who was in disbelief. Supposedly, we received the short end of the stick as they were doing a whole-house remodel in a neighboring town. In other words, the company was in transition and expansion with an inadequate, inexperienced crew. We received the two "left-over" crew members. All in all, they talked a good game but failed to deliver as promised and left a bitter taste in our mouthes.
Description of Work: Removed cedar siding, installed insulation and new vinyl siding along with vinyl porch system, fascia, soffit, gutters, and downspouts.
