Globe Siding, Insulation, & Window Co

Stay away from this company at all costs. We hired Globe Siding and Insulation & Window Co. to put in insulation in the fall of 2018 at a cost of almost $5,000. A little more than a year later, there was considerable black mold and wet insulation in our ceiling. The subsequent contractor we hired to remodel our apartment said the insulation was improperly installed. In fact, he said didn't even put in as much insulation as we paid for. I should have had a clue this guy was bad news when he made me pay to add a 220 volt circuit for his equipment. Our building has a flat roof, and we should have been told that loose-fill insulation in a flat roof could cause condensation resulting in black mold. Ultimately we had to tear down the ceiling and re-insulate using spray foam insulation (which we should have used) at a cost of almost $19,000. So almost $5,000 for his fault work and another $19,000 - nearly $25,000 wasted! When confronted, the owner said he accepted no responsibility, wouldn't honor the warranty (that had expired only a couple of months prior) and wouldn't even offer to make good in any way. In fact, when I said he should have told us about the risk, he said "buyer beware"... Buyer beware!? How many people know anything about insulation? The reason you hire an expert is for their knowledge and expertise. In any event, stay far away from this guy and his company - Globe Siding, Insulation & Window Co.

Globe did an excellent job. During the estimate process, the reasoning for doing the steps required was well presented and right in line with Aliant's energy assessment information. The professionalism exhibited was really exceptional right down to filling out rebate forms. The consideration for our comfort and keeping us informed as the job progressed was appreciated. All air byways were sealed, attic baffles were inspected, fresh air flow enhanced, rim joints insulated. Very obvious that the customer was a priority. Insulation went great. Received a lot of good information as eventually I will be moving into a full remodel of my upstairs and will need his assistance for more insulation once the remodel is done. The job that was done was done well. Cleaned up the whole area (vacuuming) as I had blow insulation put in. Made me clear on what was happening before it even happened. Was thurough when it came to showing me before and after the job was done.

I heard about them through the phone book and they had an ad in the newspaper. I checked with other company's for estimates as well, but they were by far the best. They were very neat and I received all the rebates for the energy efficient widows which he had avaialble for me at the time, all I had to do was mail them in. Whenever he would be late he would call and notify me of the time he I could expect him. He was always on time. They washed the windows when they were done and they quality of there work is excellent.

The quality was excellent and the over all experience was very thorough. He was very consistent and did what he said he would do. I am very satisfied with the outcome. I would recommend him to others.

Jeff was very prompt and thorough. He arrived exactly when he said he would and got all of the work done in the amount of time he said it would take. As a curious homeowner I would check in from time to time. When I did, Jeff would explain exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. When he was finished, he cleaned up any insulation that had made a mess so we didn't have to later. The best part was the savings we got from the insulation. The previous owners averaged a $300 per month utility bill. Since insulating our highest bill has been just over $300! This was our second house that we had Jeff insulate and would highly recommend him!
