Pate Asphalt Systems has been serving customers throughout the Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Iowa City areas for over 30 years. The company brings more than four generations of construction experience to all their projects. Beginning in the 1930's George Pate owned and operated Black Hawk Sand Co., an aggregate materials business in southeast Iowa. George's son, Paul Pate Sr, co-founded PM Blacktop, in 1973. Today Paul Pate II and his children bring a fourth generation to carry that same level of service and expertise to clients. Pate Asphalt Systems has a reputation for professionalism and quality workmanship that spans over four decades. They did a real good job. I thought their price was high at first and I misunderstood their bill a little bit, but they made it right and did a really nice job. You don't see many companies these days who are willing to work with you on price. They were punctual and they did everything that I asked.
