On November 30, 2016 DRH Construction/ Dave stood in my house and placed a call to Gypsum of CR to get a price for drywall. He hung up and stated price was $1746.90 in which check was written out to DRH Construction and cashed. Dave states he ordered 105 sheets of drywall, mud, and tape. The agreement was to have it delivered and placed through the opening for the egress window, before the windows were installed. Dave stated the drywall company came, but couldn't fit drywall through window so they took it back. According to Dave, the drywall was delivered again at a later date but the company didn't have our address so it was unloaded onto an employee's car trailer. After many failed attempts to get Dave to deliver these drywall materials, we decided to purchase needed materials at Menards. We requested Dave return delivered materials and requested a refund. Dave stated there would likely be a restocking fee, but he would return the materials. Asked to have itemized bill showing restocking fee. Weeks went by and all Dave could say was he hasn't received the itemized restocking bill and check yet. Went to Gypsum myself to inquire. I was told 80 sheets were ordered (NOT 105 and nothing else) for a total of $1396.99 (NOT $1746.90). However Gypsum states Dave then canceled the order. There was NEVER an attempt to deliver, money exchanged, and no charges billed. When Dave was presented with a printout of this information he suddenly claimed hours worked but never paid in an attempt to get out of paying back the $1746.90. Per his itemized bill, Dave claimed it took him XYZ amount of time to do a job as an experienced construction company that it would have taken someone with no experience, following a "step by step - how to" guide. He also ordered materials for another job site from a local lumber yard in which we were billed, using our account. We paid this because the supplies purchased were done so under our account. In the end we are out over a thousand dollars. There remains unfinished work and construction work done that needs done over!
Description of Work: We hired DRH Construction to put in Egress windows, build a stand for fish aquarium, framing for basement rooms (ie: bedrooms / closets), plumbing, and garage addition. Fish aquarium stand didn't have correct supports under it or to the wall behind it. There was unfinished wood showing in multiple places. The support placed beneath the stand wasn't even the same size of the stand therefore cabinets not supported. Egress windows had to be done twice. The 1st install was not tight; could stick multiple fingers between frame and Concrete wall. After 2nd install the windows are still not properly sealed and leak. Will need pulled out and done a 3rd time - NOT BY DRH Construction. The framing of rooms had split 2x4s, not level or square. Closets missing the jack, king, and header stud. Dave Herboldsheimer was basically cutting corners wherever he could, however he was hired to be paid by the hour and not by the job. Plumbing that was done needed to be done a second time. Garage barely started and never finished.

Started out great. Dave was very responsive in getting the quote to us, answering our questions and putting our minds at ease. The materials arrived on time, and the initial build and demo was on time. Things went downhill from there. We signed our project in April 2015 and it still isn't done. I've texted, called, emailed, everything I can think of to encourage them to finish. To date we are missing the trim work in our laundry room, the closet door is not hung, and I have no idea where our back door is. We tried to expand the scope to include additional trim work in the basement and making some structural changes to our back deck. The deck work is half finished, and we never progressed past the purchase of materials on the trim despite repeated promises to get started by DRH. I thought my contractor issues were solved, but the lack of consideration, planning, notification, and professionalism will not allow me to recommend DRH to anyone going forward. We will cut ties with DRH this month and seek another contractor to finish our projects
Description of Work: Started with an expansion of our laundry room and the purchase and installation of a new back door with internal shade. Tried to extend to trim work in the basement and fixing some issues with our back deck.

No show. We sent a certified letter asking for the refund of the $300 and it has been a week, no response.
Description of Work: Dave Herboldsheimer took a $300 deposit for installing 3 new 6X6 posts on our screened-in porch. We originally got the invoice and agreed work would be forthcoming.
