He installed a furnace. After the installation, he had to come back for a followup. He had to schedule it about 6 times and never called. We then found out that he didn't install it right either; and we had to hire someone to fix his screw up. I want Angie's List members to know that he schedules appointments that he doesn't keep and he doesn't follow up if he can't make it out. He is just UN-reliable.

My problems were solved & new furnace was elevated off floor to prevent any future flood involvement.

The central air (York) seems to work great. I don't know about the furnance, winter isn't here yet. I would say not to use Pippert Heating & Air Conditioning out of Keystone,Ia because the customer service sucks big time, for lack of better language. Not to return my phone calls ever!, not to come and do the inspection, to totally ignore the fact that my husband & I chose use use Pippert's company and paid the bill in full on the day it was installed (paid $2500 down and balance of $2343 on day installed). I feel that he (Pippert) installed the furnace & central well, but his service after he was paid was nonexistant and downright rude and unforgivable because if you are going to sell, represent, and back a product that you need to able to to that. Here my husband & I sit with a furnance & central air that now I wonder how well it is going to work in the future because if he is not going to answer my phone calls, I wonder about the quality of his service because his customer service is totally lacking. The job was done in May, 2010 and paid in full that day and I haven"t been able to get Chris Pippert to come back to do the inspection!! In our (my husband Steve & I) opinion, he his a low down lying scoundrel, who doesn't know how to run a business nor know what customer service is!! I will tell anyone who asks (or doesn't) not to hire him and to steer clear him, his company, and his business practices. If our York needs servicing I'll call somebody else.
Description of Work: We contacted Mr. Chris Pippert, owner of Pippert Plumbling & Heating in Keystone, Ia in 04/2010 to give us estimate for new energy efficient central air & furnance, he came two days later & gave us estimate of app. $4800. My husband & I discussed & researched the brand of central air furnace, York, decided the price was right and that the maker, York, was a very good make with with good ratings, efficieny, & longevity.On app May 18, 2010, Pippert came and took out the the old unit and installed the new one. Everything went well with no problems. I paid Mr. Pippert the balance due with a check. He said that he had to come back & preform inspection and we would have to pay him about $100 and that that inspection would cover the labor cos's for the next 10 years (length of the York warranty). He has never came back to do the inspection even after repeated calls. The calls have been pretty much weekly (I have my cell phone records to prove that). I have spoke to him, and two different people that work there and I get the same. Either it is: I'll have him call you, he saw it on the list of calls or I spoke to him himself and it was "Oh , yea I have to come there and do that" and tell me he will show up and never does. I am now very frustrated and have said as much to his employee/coworker this morning. I also said that I was through trying to deal with this crapand if that was the kind of service that I could expect when I had a problem, I would call someone else.
