Overall, it was a miserable and time consuming experience. Shoddy work, incomplete, and dangerous to my husband. The work date is a guess as we received no paperwork.
Description of Work: Called them up and he showed up with an estimate to repair the chimney which was causing a leak into our master bedroom closet. He gave us an estimate of $500.00 which would have been about right had they done the job correctly. First he gave us an estimate of when he would be here and we waited and waited. Several calls netted no results. After a couple of months we hired another company who said they would be here on Monday afternoon (this was Thursday). I work out of town and was gone in the morning. When I arrived home near noon there was a truck in the drive. It took a few minutes to realize that this was Voorhies and not the new company. .Somehow they found out we had hired someone else and barely beat them to the punch. I wasn't happy about this since they never called but they were already on the roof, equipment out, etc. We later found out that the other company had come earlier than expected and Voorhies had chased them off. I am not sure how long they were here since they came while I was gone but I estimate with what they did it could not have been more than 30 minutes for 500 bucks. The worst part was the repair itself. They cut pieces of about 22 mil aluminum (thinner than purchased at Menard's) and stuck it on the outside of the chimney with black goo. They left the tubes all over the yard, along with pieces of aluminum. He knocked on the door and demanded his 500 bucks and took off in a hurry before I had a chance to check out his work. The first storm the chimney leaked worse than ever before. After just a month EVERY piece of aluminum was off the chimney and down in the yard. Several calls again netted no returns or no results. They never did return to make things right. My husband had to crawl up on the roof and make the repairs himself again at our expense. If I had wanted my 72 year old husband up on the roof I never would have hired a roofing company. I have since heard from several people that this company makes enough money to make it to the next bar, period. Don't use this company unless you want NOTHING done correctly at a huge price. And the help was about 18 years old to boot, real experienced, yeh.

I'm very unhappy with them. They left a mess. They had the gutters plugged up and caused a mess in one of our rooms. We had roofing nails all over the place. He was not professional as far as doing the work. He wanted so much money up front and the rest when the job was done. He kept asking for more money for more materials because he didn't estimate the job right. He replaced the attic vents with smaller ones, and we think that's why we're having problems with our ceiling. The price was right, but we should've went with someone a little more expensive to get the job right.
