This place is awesome, I called with a sewer back up at 7:00 tonight and they were at our house in West Des Moines by 7:30. Brad was the Service man, he got right to work, had to go about 80 feet with his snake and had it fixed in 45 minutes. He was very professional and a great guy to visit with. He represents your company well! 5 STARS THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

My husband is overseas for the military right now so I am the one home with 2 small children. I have water sitting in the bottom of my dishwasher and my kitchen sink won’t drain. I was given this companies info from a different plumbing company. I called SS and set up a day and time for them to come. I had to wait 2 days, so I ensured that I would be home, so I moved my clients to a different day. The day came and I waited and waited and waited for them to come. They never showed. I wasted an entire afternoon waiting for them and I lost money for moving my clients. I called and left a voice message asking what happened? What’s the plan now? They returned my call. Stated it was a “clerical error” no apologies, just asked when they could come out next? Ha! I don’t want their business!!

We are very happy with our experience with Smith Sewer. We had a wash machine drain issue that no one could figure out, but Collin came out and had it figured out and fixed in an hour. Very professional and courteous, and the price was VERY reasonable.

Spent a lot of time trying to rectify with various blades on end of snake auger, and ultimately had to bring in a high pressure water line as a solution. Cost more, but got the job done and line opened up.

I contacted them 3 times and they never bothered to return my calls.

Once the Smith employee got there, it took some time to clear it but it got cleared. He highly recommended that I have a scope of the pipe done as he was only able to use the 2 inch drill. The only part of the experience that was bad was I had an afternoon appointment and he showed up after 8PM. He explained they were very late due to being low on employees. He was very helpful and pleasant and willing to do what was needed to get the drain clear. I was happy to have the drain cleared and everything has been working fine.

I had an appointment with another company. When they didn't show up I called Smiths. Someone was there within an hour and work completed in an hour. The technician even gave me some ideas to prevent future problems. Weekend rates.

I called Smith's yesterday and they were able to accommodate us with an appointment this morning. The tech was prompt and courteous. He was kind to explain what he was doing and was careful to clean up after himself. Within minutes, he got us up and running again! I should have called them the second time we had an issue with our plumbing... I probably spent more in drain cleaner!

Each time I called Smith's in the morning, they were able to get someone out to service our drains just a few hours later. The technicians arrived, assessed the situation, and used their commercial drain snakes to completely clear the affected lines. Our kitchen sink was back in order in less than hour. The guest bathroom was a bit more serious of a problem, involved pulling the toilet off and generated some pretty nasty smells... but everything there was fixed and cleaned up in an hour and half. The technicians were clean, courteous, personal and provided good tips for preventing further issues. Each time they left, you couldn't even tell they'd been there - aside from the working drains! The price seemed great at ~$85 for the kitchen and ~$140 for the bathroom. I've hired em twice already and would definitely hire them again!

The company was able to get someone to our place 3 hours after I called. Responsive and solved the problem.

I called in the morning and they came out that morning. The man that came out was very good ( and it was a mess down there!)

TJ came out that night and unclogged the drain with a pleasant attitude, even though the configuration of our house made doing the work difficult. He also worked quickly, and did it in less than an hour.

The work was done efficiently. They knew exactly what steps to take to fix the problem and they did it all quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and were within the quoted price.

It took him no time at all to take car elf since he had the proper tools to unclog it. He was helpful in telling me where I could get the tool myself and how to do it if it happened again.

Of course this occurred late on a Friday afternoon! My husband was washing a load of laundry and taking a shower. When he went to the laundry room he saw that the floor drain was a bit backed up and not draining properly. We had never had this happen before so did not quite know who to call. I phoned a plumber who recommended a different sewer company. That sewer company was unable to provide service until after 5 PM at the emergency repair rate. Looking through my Angie's List, I phoned Smith's Sewer. I was listened to and treated politely by the receptionist at Smith's. She was able to have a sewer technician over to our home within 20 minutes. The technician was professional and courteous. He diagnosed the problem quickly. He brought in floor coverings to protect the floors. He had to drain and remove the toilet to put a snake through the drain, since we did not have open access to another drain pipe. But he explained everything calmly and in a step-by-step fashion. The entire process took a little more than an hour. The technician worked quickly and skillfully. He cleaned everything up before he left. I was very happy with the quality of the service and the fair price. I would highly recommend Smith's Sewer Service.

Called Smith's at 4:20 pm, technician arrived at 5:30. Worked performed within an hour. Turned out to be roots in the sewer line and the tech informed me (and the bill states) that sewer root removal is warranted for 6 months. Very friendly tech , T.J., who did what I think was a thorough job as I stayed in the basement & watched the whole process.

After calling 5 other plumbers who were all booked for weeks or didn't offer drain snaking, Smith's Sewer Service was able to come out within a few hours of my call and cleared the clogged drain within the hour. There was a small mishap with a leak as he was testing things, but it was quickly resolved and cleaned up. I'm very satisfied with both the service and how quickly they were able to get here and resolve the problem.

Everyone I dealt with in this company was amazing. The schedulers were understanding and helped get someone to my house the same day. And they did! I got someone to come out soon after I called to open the block in my sewer line when two other plumbers couldn't do it. And they got a specialty tech out a couple hours later to camera my line and mark it outside for me. Both techs were fast, efficient, friendly and extremely patient with explaining things to me and making sure I had all the info I needed for the next step of work. The second tech took the time to explain his marks and how he wrote everything on the invoice for me so the next company I hired to replace my sewer line would have a reference. It made a really bad situation a lot less stressful.
