Description of Work: We’ve been very happy with them! They have been really great. They have done a lot of re-wiring for us during our remodel. They have been very reliable and they are affordable.

+ -1 moreThey are professional and responsive...although a little surly. But they seem so incredibly over-priced.
Description of Work: Installed motion activated security lights. I bought the best they had. They were installed and installation lablor was a few hundred dollars (one was a replacement, one was an addition) One light didn't work within a year. It was under warranty but they charge another $200 to install the new light. I thought that was a rip-off. I also got an estimate for a kitchen/dining room remodel lighting scheme. There was some rerouting, etc, but much was replacing fixtures that wouldn't be moved. The estimate was about $12,000. I have not contracted with them and it's a stumbling block in my remodel plans.

+ -1 moreI recommend them to everyone looking for someone honest, friendly, and reliable. Not to mention my ceiling fan had been bothering me for years with the noises it made and they fixed it in no-time-flat.
Description of Work: They were very helpful and even took care of a couple items without being asked. I didn't use them for a formal estimate, but the electrician was able to give me a rough idea if a couple of my home improvement ideas were difficult or easy to complete.

+ -1 moreWe requested an estimate from Shay to compare to another company's estimate for electrical work. After 1 week w/ no response, I called to get the estimate (we needed the work done immediately and didn't want to wait for the mailed estimate). Shay called back and left a message that they had mailed it to me. They didn't leave the dollar amount in the message, either, which was why I had called in the first place. When I called back to get the dollar amount, the owner told me the amount, which was more than DOUBLE the previous estimate I'd received from another company. I told him that it was double what I'd gotten from another contractor. He was very rude to me and snapped back, "Well, that's what it is, sorry if you don't like it." I told him I was simply letting him know that his bid was not competitive, and thanked him for his time. We did not go with Shay for the work, and I won't call them again for an estimate.
