He was not responsive to emails after the work had been completed. We were just trying to ask him about radon mitigation since he performed the radon test for us, but he never responded. I would not recommend this inspector to anyone.
Description of Work: This inspection was cursory at best. For the outside of the house, he walked around it with his hands in his pockets. He saw some rot around the deck and noted it, but as it turned out, we put $4000.00 into replacing the doors and siding that were built under the upper deck. The frame for the doors was so rotted that the doors fell off after three weeks in the house. He also didn't seem to notice that the west end of the house had a significant amount of rotted siding or that the exterior window sills were soft and spongy. He missed a broken connector under the main bathroom sink that leaked when we flushed the lines after shocking our well. The back side of the house had gutters that were so rusted through that they leaked once the seasonal rains began in our area.

Since we were purchasing the home 500 miles away, we were reliant on the completion of the home inspection without us present. Our realtor let the inspector into the home and awaited for his completion. The inspection discovered some issues that were resolved during the final negotiations of price and we purchased our new home. Upon moving into the home, the moment we turned on the water in the kitchen sink we had water running in our basement from the drain stack. Upon review, there was a 18 inch crack running down the stack. It also turned out as nearly every drain in the house has a leak. Not recalling any mention of cracked pipes or leaks in the majority of the drains, we reviewed our inspection report. It clearly states that all drains were tested with running water for a minimum of 30 minutes. The kitchen drain was leaking within seconds of water running. Clearly, though there is a standard on the report, it was not completed. We also discovered at that time, there was no warranty on the inspection! I initiated contact with the inspector in order to resolve the problem. After 10 days of not hearing from him, I hired a repairman to complete the repairs. It took an entire month for the inspector respond to my concern. He responded by banging on my front door wearing state trooper style sunglasses, which he never removed during the entire confrontation. He was very aggressive and intimidating during our entire conversation. His position was, it was irrelevant that the drain was leaking. He couldn't find everything that was wrong and after all, how much money did his inspection save us. I responded that that was not the relevant issue, he stated on his report that he had run water through all the drains for 30 minutes and clearly he had not. At this point,he became angry and asked me what I wanted to do about it. I suggested that we split the bill for repairs and he angrily then get me a check RIGHT NOW! Considering the man was at least a foot taller than me and frightening, I did. In retrospect, I should have asked him to leave.
Description of Work: This was a home inspection for a purchase. The results of the home inspection were used in negotiating a final price for the home that we purchased.
