I used them because last year I had them cutting into a brick wall and a stone retaining wall foundation. This year they are cutting into the rough to do the darmer so I wanted somebody. This year, being retired, I watched both their men and their sub-contractors. The attention to detail and making sure that things are done right. I commented to some of the sub-contractors and they said, Sattler's are pretty anal about making sure things are done right. I was impressed, nobody goofed off even without a supervisor here. I only had a couple of issues. One was the plumber installed the chrome showerhead instead of the nickel platted showerhead. So, I called them and said I don't want to be billed additional, I didn't get what I wanted. They said, you are supposed to get what you want and they had him come out and change it. It was probably just a miscommunication between the supply company failing to give the plumber the correct information. They came out at their own expense and repaired it. The company that did the driveway, I said I would like the driveway to slope away from the garage a little bit because I sometimes get water back underneath the door and then it freezes. The guy noticed that a piece of cement pad that was really a part of the garage floor but was it's own little, he said that's your problem. That's sloping the wrong way. Again, without any additional charge he saw what the problem was, removed that piece and installed new so that I now don't have that issue so this winter it won't freeze, the water won't freeze the garage door shut. They paid attention. When I said, I have an issue, they looked and said, there's your issue, there's your problem, we'll fix that.

Throughout the construction I described myself as a and quot;happy camper.and quot; Sattler Homes listened to my vision for this project and then delivered with the highest quality. I knew from their attention to detail in developing their proposal that I could be confident of the quality of workmanship cutting through a brick wall to install French patio doors and cutting into a stone wall to set footings. They used the source for my preferred railing. While waiting for Sattler to begin this project, I'd contracted an electrician to do other work. They willingly worked with him for the electrical on this project. The pull out pantry and other improvements added immensely to the function of my small kitchen. And they matched the finish of the woodwork and the hardware perfectly. Likewise, the fireplace surround came out better than my vision. When miscommunication between sub-contractors resulted in a missed step (that I would have never known about), they let me know and went back and corrected it. Could I have gotten the work done for a little less cost with another contractor? Possibly, but the quality was worth it. Actually, the final cost was largely because of my choosing the higher cost options, including adding a beautiful arbor on one side of the deck.

We were very impressed with Joe and his remodeling company. The final decision between contractors came down to Sattler's policy of not providing as detailed a breakdown of the price estimate (as we prefer) as well as a 10% higher cost. From start to finish of our contacts with Joe Sattler and Kelly (of The Cabinet Gallery) were excellent. They are absolutely great at design ideas, professional layouts and possibilities. From the beginning they rose to the top of our preferred contractors list. We thought they were very creative and helpful. Totally loved the multiple design options they created and the helpful tips they gave us along the way. Kelly was particularly helpful with the cabinet layout and many design ideas. Joe brought Kelly and his plumber, electrician, tile/carpet rep and several others to see the actual layout and from there make their decisions and estimates for us. Never, ever a problem contacting them with any relevant questions. The timeline would have worked beautifully for us as well. We always felt that we were important to them and that they would value our business.

This experience was pretty good as well as the finished product. We had to watch quite a bit of the work. We had some problem with the cabinetry. We had certain specifications that we wanted and told them if they couldn't do it, we didn't want certain things. They assured us they could do these things, but when the girl came out and measured, she ended up doing it wrong. So in the end, it turned out ok, but we didn't get what we wanted. The downfall was communication when dealing with the people doing the work and the other people who are ordering the products. The people who did the flooring did a wonderful job. We had problems with the plumbing. Ever since the project was finished, the plumbing had gotten progressively worse. I think it has been leaking ever since they did the project. It was a slow leak which is why we didn't catch it right away. The ordeal caused damage to my floor and my basement ceiling. This particular part of this remodeling was poorly done along with a poor access. My husband ended up redoing all of the plumbing. Overall, this company did a great job. They lacked in the ability in simple communication, with us and with each other. Despite all that, I would use this company again in the future.
