Very happy with the way the business was handled. Was very surprised when they sent someone out to get the work done when the weather was so darn cold. However the new door is outstanding (no more leaks) and was very happy they were able to hang our storm door with it. the gentleman that braved the cold weather should get a free vacation and a raise. what a sport. Thank you!

It went very well overall. The design phase through project completion was handled professionally and the communication throughout the project was top notch. It is possibly the best experience ever with a contractor. I would definitely recommend Tom and Home Town Restyling.

Replaced a window in our home. It took a long time to order and wait for the arrival of the window, but the installation went smoothly and we are happy with the result.

First, the sales rep came, on time, with samples, and showed me exactly what my options were. When I lived in a different state, I had had windows replaced in that old house, so I knew what I should expect from the experience and this company met and exceeded all my expectations on the sales side. I felt I had all the information to make an informed decision. Then - the person who came to do the exact measurements was punctual and friendly. Finally, the installers were great. They took care of every detail, they were friendly to me and the kids, and they were efficient with their work. I was really pleased with the results and the quality has lasted. I am replacing more windows as I can afford it - I've just arranged to have more windows installed, and I am having the same great experience. I highly recommend this company.

Home Town Restyling is pretty good about keeping me informed about what was going on because one of the items had to be reordered because it broke. They let me know about what the delay was. They did really well. Their price is an A because the price that they gave me for this particular unit was much less than what it was.

Within the given timeframe DeWayne arrived and discussed ideas for our remodel. I was given the impression that he knew what he was talking about and even suggested up a few ideas of his own. I was told to expect the estimate within a few business days. Four days after the visit, I sent an email to inquire about the estimate and was told to expect a reply early the following week. Two weeks go by, and I receive an email from a third party asking how my experience with Hometown Restyling went. I replied and filled out their survey with the same information above. I was promptly responded to by DeWayne with an estimate the following day. My wife and I had already made other arrangements for our restyle and decided not to enlist Hometown Restyling's services.

We are very pleased with the final product, and we have nothing but praise for the work of the second crew assigned to our house. Home Town Restyling's price could not be beat for the quality product. From our first meeting, we had a good working relationship with Dave, the project manager. He explained the product, followed up on our questions, adjusted the bid to our new instructions, brought a sample so we could confirm the color, and followed up after the job was scheduled. Dave was also instrumental in changing the crew initially assigned to the job. This review would be very different if he had not taken decisive action. In retrospect, we believe that first crew was very unusual for this company, and we would not hesitate to use Home Town again. The first crew had to "go back" to their previous job several times to finish up details which took them away from our project. They also showed up late, took long breaks, and generally did not attend to business. Fortunately, Dave listened to our concerns, came to check on the job, and replaced them early enough that the job could be rescued. This change in crew meant the project extended longer than originally planned -- but, the second crew was extraordinarily responsible. We recognized the kind of professionals John and his son Jonathan are when they could not start our job until they were satisfied that the prior job was complete. When they started our job, they took stock of the work done previously, determined a priority order of tasks to get things back on track, and then steadily made progress -- attacking the front of the house first so that the appearance from the street was immediately improved. These guys were excellent at communicating with us and always pleasant and professional. When we did the final walk-around, we had no issues of problems. The gutter crew came the next day and was careful and professional. Overall, this was a good experience with careful craftsmen who take pride in their work. We are especially pleased that Home Town Restyling as a company listened to us and took the actions necessary to serve us as the customer. We would recommend them to anyone

Sales person was professional. He readily admitted he was new with the company which was appreciated - we all have to start at new and learn. He shared details on their windows and took a lot of data for use with the quote. We did not go with this company because the quote for the work and new windows was more then %50 of what we are paying with the company who is doing the work with comparable quality and warranty on the product.

Thank You for your feedback. Normally we offer our customers multiple lines of product. We normally have product lines available for most price points and can be very competitively priced. Unfortunately with the custom made, round top installation you have, our manufacturer only offers that in our top of the line product. Foam filled, fiberglass reinforced, multiple layers of Low-E on the glass. It's a great product, however, it's not an inexpensive product. We apologize that our new representative didnt make the differences in the product more clear to you. We sincerely hope you enjoy the selection you made. Thank You again for the feedback.

Home Town Restyling is a FANTASTIC company to work with! We have worked with a long list of contractors over the years and Home Town Restyling by far wins the award for being the easiest to work with and the company most focused on customer satisfaction. Here's why we had such a great experience with Home Town Restyling: - When Home Town gives you a bid, that's the price you pay. We had worked with other contractors in the past that wanted to remeasure and reprice the project half way through it or after it was completed. - When Home Town began installing our deck, they were using screws instead of biscuits to install the deck boards. We had understood that the boards would be installed with biscuits so, we asked why they were using screws. Home Town explained the reason they felt screws were the best way for us to proceed but, they gave us the final decision on screws verses biscuits. When we decided to go with biscuits, Home Town did not hesitate to remove the boards that had been installed with screws. It was great to work with a company that wanted to ensure we loved our finished product. - Every person that we talked to at Home Town was extremely nice and pleasant to work with. Our project manager, Tom Casey, was amazing! Every single worker that came to our home was friendly and trustworthy. The owner of the business even stopped by during the job to ensure we were pleased with how things were proceeding. - Home Town did an excellent job of communicating with us. During the bidding process, Home Town took the time to ensure they understood what was important to us. They started the job on the day they said they would be here and they let us know in advance when they were waiting on supplies one day and could not proceed. The workers arrived on time each morning and they cleaned up the job site every night before leaving. Home Town completed the job on schedule. - Home Town gave us multiple suggestions and options for replacing the awning over our patio. It was great working with a company that had completed similar projects allowing them to draw on their previous experiences when helping us design the best solution for our home. - When we compared the multiple bids we received for our projects, Home Town offered the highest quality products with the best warranties. - The finished deck and awning look AMAZING!!!! We will contact Home Town for all of our future projects.

My wife and I have had Hometown Restyling replace all of our windows over the past 3 years and now the residing. To say that we are extremely pleased and satisfied with all aspects of their work is a serious understatement. With the first job they presented samples of their work for us to view and allowed us to contact previous homeowners about their own experience with Hometown and we were pleased with those responses. The initial job included the replacement of a large picture window in the living room with a bow window that has really opened up the room, making it seem much larger and giving a wider view of the valley outside it. This window faces the South and gets the sunlight, so Tom Martin (who has since passed away) sold us on a window glass that reduces the effects of the direct sunlight and reduces the overall temperature of the room. The other windows are also of a high grade quality and add value to the house by their looks and their weather proofing. The only problem we had was with the large window in the living room which--due to its weight--required some stronger support and Hometown was quick to return and deal with that aspect. .We would recommend Hometown Restyling to anyone looking for a professional, quality-oriented group of craftsmen who care about what they are doing and will provide a reasonable price the first time around. Our dealings with Tom Casey (with Tom Martin's passing) has been superb, as he was on site and on call for any questions we had about any of the three different jobs to date.
Description of Work: This was our third job completed by Home Town Restyling and they (and their professional siding expert Tim Early) resided our home this January. Tim was a perfectionist in all respects and we are very pleased with the work he performed for us. There were no screw-ups, no delays and the job was done on time!

Sales rep (David) explained all options very carefully and showed us examples of all the products. Took a great deal of time to answer all of our questions. He also stayed with the project from beginning to end answering all questions, concerns and ensuring all stayed on schedule. My husband was ill and chilled easily, which was of great concern because the install took place during cold, windy November weather. Each team took special care to ensure the house stayed a comfortable temperature and every consideration was given to keep noise at a minimum. We purchased the premium product for all areas and are extremely happy with the outcome. Almost eliminates all outside noise, give comfort in the security of safety features and quality of windows and doors. All installers were courteous and professional. They even put up the storm doors that were purchased elsewhere with no extra labor fees. They finished in less time than estimated and the siding makes this older home (1970's) look new and modern. Almost like having a new home with curb appeal. Total experience from the sales demo, contract signing and installation was excellent. All looks beautiful, family, friends and neighbors have raved about the upgrade. I will use Home Town Restyling again for kitchen and other remodeling.
Description of Work: Fourteen windows, not just replacement but entire casings, including a picture window, large sliding window in the kitchen and large sliding window in the walk out basement. The old trim around the basement window and door were particularly tricky and previously ugly 8X1s, they adjusted this odd trim and all now looks perfectly matched. We choose the premium grade siding which included soffits and trim, and three secure, steel, decorative outside doors. They also installed three storm doors as a courtesy as they were previously purchased elsewhere!

I would turn and ran away from Home Town Restyling, absolutely as fast as you can. It's been several years and they never finished. It was a $45,000.00 job and I think I still owe them $2,000.00 that I was holding back until he came and finished and they never came and finished, so I still have it. Honest to God, turn and run away as fast as you can. The fellow that gave us the quote had told us that he would be here the entire time. He assured us that he would be the man in charge and he would come out daily. I hardly ever saw him again after that. It just went on and on and on and on. It was horrible. It was the worst thing in my life. He had signed a contract that he would repair the roof as well. We never got any copies of the warranties. I downloaded them. The wind whistles through the closed and locked windows if the wind is strong and coming out of a certain direction. Most of the locks on the window are broken. When they put the windows in, there were open holes where they screwed in the screws. I found a whole bunch of them laying in the dirt. We have a railroad tie wall around a large patio in the back side and I told them that to be careful of it. I didn't want it to get destroyed because it held up a patio wall. But one of the workers jumped off of it one day. I happened to see it happen. When he did, the top railroad tie came off and so he kind of took it and put it over against the fence and never said a work to me about it. They were also supposed to take are of the rotten T-111 siding that was on the house and replace it with plywood or other siding, something suitable. Luckily, I had taken some pictures all the way around the house before they even started the job. I have pictures of where we knew there was rotten siding. They finally sent someone here. He worked his rear end off, but he didn't do a good job and he didn't get finished. The following year, Drew made his yearly call. I answered the phone and it sounded like someone was conversing with someone else there and I hung up and never heard from him again. He told me he was going to get back to me about the windows, but he didn't. The patio is sinking, because they didn't put the stuff they put underneath the shingles to make a dam, from when it starts to run off or whatever. So, water just pours between the house and the gutter. It drips constantly. They were made aware of that. The owner signed a contract for that, so I feel it's his fault. They actually glued the carpet to the trim by a sliding glass door they replaced and that is molding now because water leaks in and up to it. The put up a little post, but now the post is sinking with the patio. Pretty soon, the whole front will be sinking. The price was outrageous and he said that was because his materials was so much better than anyone else's. He said the projects will be done by the first of the year. The communication was horrendous. The windows that were supposed to be installed by the first of the year weren't even manufactured by then and they had been lieing to me about it. The whole thing just went on and on and on and on.

Thank You for your review. With your project, unfortunately, we had to rely on sub-contractors to do some of the labor that we didnt do in-house. There were a lot of communication issues we had with the subs on your project. Those issues have since been taken care of. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

I haven't used them yet. They were double the price of other places. I went to their showroom and I could tell the quality of their work is really, really good and they don't subcontract out. They have all their own installers so they are priced higher. I used someone else for the basement windows. I might have them do more of the upstairs work that shows because I know it will be really good quality. They had a good showroom. They took the time to explain the cost and the product.

The entire experience was wonderful with Hometown. Dave was the one who came to my house for my consultation and to show me all the products they had to offer. He was on time and very professional. I learned a lot about windows in general and the products they had. Dave could've easily recommended the most expensive windows in order to sell more to me, but recommended since my house is smaller that I could get a way with a less expensive window and still get great energy savings. After the consultation, I had a few questions and so I emailed Dave and he responded within minutes answering my questions. It took about 12 weeks for my windows to be manufactured. We were able to set up a date for them to come and install the windows. There were no issues there. I felt comfortable allowing the workers in my home without me being there. When I arrived home, they had cleaned up very well and besides the new windows being installed, I couldn't tell they had even been there. They are a little expensive but you get what you pay for and I know I have great quality windows with the service to back it up if something goes wrong. I plan to use them again when I do my bathroom remodel.

Just fantastic. They really followed through and made us happy. If you want quality windows with proessional installation this is the company to go with.
Description of Work: We needed a new double window. Salesman Dave Wageman was very professional and gave us a break on the window when we purchased while he was there. We also got a free $25 gas card from Casey's general store. We had also asked about getting a crank fixed on one of our basement windows. Installers did a great job and the window looked great. The installers did forget to leave the hardware so we could re-hang the blinds. So I called Dave Wilsef and Dave Wageman and they got right on locating the hardware and the installation boss came that evening and put on the hardware and hung the blinds for us! Then Dave came back and said that they had found a crank for our basement window and he installed it at no charge to us! This company is top-notch.I would highly recommend them to everyone. I open the shades just to look out our magnificent new window!

I worked with the project manger Dave Wageman and he was very easy to work with. He understood that I needed better windows not the best windows. We became acquainted with Hometown somewhat by chance. I stumbled upon their showroom when driving by one day and decided to stop and have a look. Our aluminum siding had been badly damaged by hail and we were looking for contractors to replace it. We had long wanted to replace our poorly installed and broken vinyl windows, and we expected that having the siding down would be the best time to do it. One of their project managers/salesmen Tom Casey introduced himself and was very helpful. He thoroughly described both their siding and window products. He sometimes came off a little "polished" or "rehearsed" when describing their products, but I guess that's to be expected when you describe siding and windows so often. Having said that, we did a lot of research and found that Tom's information checked out. Their bid wasn't the lowest we received, but it was exactly what we ended up paying and their service/products were top-notch. PRODUCTSWindowsThe product we installed (Restorations windows) are a huge improvement over the prior window and we've been very pleased with both the product and its installation. Our southern exposure windows are manufactured to provide insulation and UV protection, and we've noted a substantial difference compared to the old windows. We also replaced two fairly large side-by-side double-hung windows with a single picture window. It's perhaps worth noting that the competitors from which we requested window bids did not carry/offer a picture window of similar size and Tom (admittedly not the _greatest_ source for this information) attributed it to the sturdy manufacturing of the Restorations windows. For whatever reason, Restorations and Hometown Restyling offered a solution we could not find from others and we've been very pleased with the result. SidingOur siding is Prodigy vinyl siding from Alside. It is foam backed and a nice thick Vinyl - it looks great and has performed as expected. We're very pleased with the product. Entrance & Storm DoorThe front door is sturdy and good looking. I'm blanking on the brand. It feels solid and has been a big improvement over what we had previously. We also got a locking Pella stormdoor with which we've been generally pleased. The strike plate likes to slide back and make locking require repositioning the plate, and we had trouble with some sliding plastic pieces early after the installation. Overall, however, it's been a good upgrade and works nicely. INSTALLATION/WORKMANSHIPThe siding and windows were installed by Hometown W2 employees who were very professional, pleasant, and well-liked by our kids (knew them by name)! We appreciated the way they maintained a clean work-site, arrived and departed at appropriate times, and completed the project within the quoted timeline. The windows we installed were thicker than the prior windows and an aspect of our project included resizing and replacing the indoor window trim throughout the house. This involved a series of steps including removal, trimming, sanding, and re-finishing. It was done flawlessly and you cannot even tell that they've been resized. One window was installed into a newly cut opening and required installation of new trim to match that throughout the rest of the house - it looks original. SERVICETom Casey provided prompt and consistent service throughout. He shepherded our project from beginning to end and was always responsive. Our project included roofers, electricians, and painters, and gutter installers in addition to Hometown employees. Coordination of the electricians was not what we'd hoped, however when problems arose they were dealt with promptly and courteously. When it was discovered that portions of our house sheeting had rotted through, those portions were removed and replaced without additional charge (anticipated by Tom and included as part of the original contract). They helped remove and re-attach our window treatments. Weeks and months after the project completed, small items that required attention (e.g. reattached shutter coming loose, storm door trim) and were dealt with very promptly after a single phone call. Even yet this spring, nearly 6 months after our project basically concluded, we went to install speakers in the siding above our deck. After a quick call, Tom sent out JR and Toby to created solid mountings that look and work great. We were impressed that months after they'd finished the original job and were paid in full, Hometown promptly attended to this relatively minor part of the project. We've been very pleased with Hometown Restyling and recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Hometown removed our damaged aluminum siding, wrapped our (previously unwrapped) sheeting, fixed our chimney, trimmed our deck, installed new vinyl siding, replaced our front door, and replaced over 20 windows.
