The crew did a great job. Showed up and performed as expected. Hauled old door away. Clean up was great as well

I called, and they came out next day, were not home they fixed, and sent a bill. Very very quick response time.

They were great. They provided the stripping and explained how to install it. They didn't push anything extra and they were great.

Not so well. The panels were installed correctly. However, when the salesman came to give us an estimate, he never gave us a written estimate. He gave us a per-panel price and when I asked, "Bottom line, what will it cost to fix the garage door? He answered with the price of one panel. ($495 plus sales tax) When I received the bill, I called the salesman/installer who said the bill was correct and we misunderstood. He said he would talk to his boss about some kind of adjustment and get back with us. However he didn't call back and we made several phone calls trying to clear this up. Finally after the 3rd bill, I was finally able to talk to the owner who was extremely rude and threatened to take us to Court. I told him we had never been able to speak with him directly and since I was speaking in a civil tone would he please do the same. I asked him if it was their policy not to give written estimates and his reply was only if the customer asked for one. Immediately following the conversation with the owner, we did pay him the full amount. Since we had a bid to replace the entire door through another company for $800, we had no intentions of paying more to have this door repaired. I didn't think of getting an estimate when I believed the total due would be a little over $500. This misunderstanding would have never happened had we had a written estimate. The purpose of this post is to recommend to anyone doing business with Overhead Door: MAKE SURE YOU GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE BEFORE HAVING THEM DO THE WORK.

We've seen them 3 or 4 other times. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. I think it was about $85 for what they did.

I am struggling with this review a bit as I feel this is a responsible, responsive company that did their best to make me happy, but the results were disappointing. My frustration stems from a small gap that appeared between the top two panels of a garage door following the initial installation. Overall, they did a nice job replacing the door, repositioning the existing opener, and cleaning up some loose wiring. The installers pointed out the small gap between panels and indicated that that should lessen or disappear when the new top weatherstrip broke in. Never happened. I called the company back and they sent another installer who said they would need to replace the top two panels, which they did. Problem was the gap increased and a new gap appeared between two other panels. The 3rd installer intimated that sometimes they just don't fit as flush as they should. I called my salesman back and a 3rd set of panels was ordered and installed by installer 3. He pointed out that the garage header was bowed, which didn't allow the panels to fit flush. Attempt 3 produced a slightly bigger gap, but eliminated the 2nd gap. Bottom line, the initial installation was far and away the best and I would have been fine with it if I had just been told about the bowed header. I decided to live with it after the 3rd attempt as it became pretty apparent I wasn't going to get the results I had hoped for, despite their best efforts.

Our garage door came off the track and would not open or close. We submitted a claim through our home warranty, and Overhead Door of Des Moines was dispatched. They arrived as scheduled and completed the service promptly. Would use again.

The salesperson did not show up, nor did the person call to let us know they were not coming or to reschedule with us. I was shocked that a company with a good reputation (referred by family and neighbors) would treat potential customers that way. We went with another company in town.

I had Overhead Door come out to my late mother's home and service the garage door opener, which had not been working for a couple years. (Since the house was sitting empty, there hadn't been a need to get it fixed until I was making the preparations to sell the place.) The service man was on time (or early). He quickly assessed the problem, took care of the adjustments and lubrication, and was done in 15-20 minutes. The opener has worked perfectly since. I cannot give the same glowing recommendation for their office staff. First, I filled out the "contact us" form on their website and received no response. Normally, that's all would take for me to look for someone else-- for the love of Pete, if you're going to have a "contact us" link on your website, respond! But before she went to the nursing home, my mother had had another company out to service the door (I won't mention any names, but their office is now a massage parlor) and the tech did not fix the problem but still charged her for a service call, so I wanted the original installers of the door and opener, Overhead Door. Anyway, after a week without a response from Overhead Door to my website query, I called and talked to a woman there. I explained that there was no one at the home, so they would have to work around when I would be available. No problem, she said. I said that I would be available after 1:30 p.m. the next day. No problem, we'll be there in the afternoon, and the serviceman will call to let you know when he'll be there. The next morning about 9:00 I get a call from the service man, saying he'll be there at 11:00. I explained that I'd told the woman answering the phone that I would not be available until after 1:30. He said that wouldn't work for the route that they'd planned for the day, and made arrangements to come the next afternoon when I was available. So, I recommend their service work, but have an issue with their office help.

Everything was fine! It went really well. They were on time and professional.

Overhead Door Company of Des Moines Inc did a great job. they were very accommodating with what i needed. everything went off like clockwork. i would use them again in the future.

They were excellent. They were very caring about all of our needs, the price was right and the service was exceptional.

I ended up calling another honest company and today finally got the opener installed. It was an easy job for them and I appreciated their work.

The repair person appears to have attempted to repair the weatherstripping but in the end the door was destroyed and the Company told me that I needed to buy an entirely new garage door. He told me that a friend, another repair person and myself were "liars" that the door was broken before he arrived. Funny; however, because he admitted raising the door and entering my garage which would not have been possible given the given status of the door.
