Green's Appliance Heating & Cooling

I scheduled service using their online tool. After my service window expired without a technician showing up, I called and was told the online scheduling tool wasn't up to date and let me schedule an appointment that was unavailable. They said they had called the previous night to let me know, but I have no missed call and no voicemail from them. They offered to reschedule me for a full 5 days after my initial appointment which I declined. They made no other effort to make up for their mistake.

Greens technicians were AWESOME. Zach Brichetto did a great job explaining my options. Josh Jones and one other team member did the install. They were polite and helpful. Very knowledgeable, able to offer suggestions but not pushy. I needed to keep costs down but had some special concerns that they listened to and found good solutions to meet my needs. Excellent craftsmanship left me knowing I made the right choice selecting Greens for my HVAC replacement. Thanks!

I’ve used Green’s many times over the past 18+ years (furnace, AC, etc.) and have always received great service. I was just at my mother’s house to let the technician in to repair her stove. They called me approximately 45 minutes ahead of time to let me know we were next up for service, and then again when the technician was on his way. They also sent me a text with an introduction to the technician (including a photo) so I would know who to look for. When Ty arrived at the door, he put booties on over his work boots to keep the carpet clean, even though I told him it wasn’t necessary. He figured out the problem quickly and gave me a price (down to the penny, including tax) for the work before replacing the igniter. He fixed the stove and even cleaned up the burners so they would work better. This company is extremely professional, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Estimate process was most professional of the four companies we reviewed. Installation crew did a great job and made sure that we were able to run air conditioning as soon as possible, which we really appreciated with the hot/humid weather.

The technician quickly found the problem and fixed it right away.

Arrived promptly and explained what he was doing and what kind of condition my HVAC was in. Trimmed a shrub that was very close to my A/C unit without me asking. Overall very pleased.

We have recieved quotes from eight HVAC suppliers in DSM area and Ames installing Consumer Reports recommended brands of manufacturers and were blown away by their competitive price and warranty terms. With our prior experience with Green's as a preventive maintenance and HVAC service company it was an easy choice for us. Green's came to install the new units on the next business day we awarded them the job. The job took 2 days, just like they said it would. Everything is in working order, we were trained on how to use the new thermostat, change filter and manage a central humidifier we opted to install. Their installers were professional and answered all of our technical questions very well. We recommend Green's to all of our friends in Ankeny and DSM area.

Green's did a great job and charged the same amount as their estimate. They also made multiple trips it took to deal with the city inspector. Very professional. .

Fine. He checked thoroughly. Gas coil vent was broken. He said it could be fixed but it would cost as much as buying a new dryer, which I felt was very honest.

Their prices were always less than other big name companies and they provided quick service. They were great about calling ahead of time to let me know when I was next on the list and then call again to let me know when he was on his way over and what time I should plan on him arriving so I could be sure to be home. They are the only Heating/Cooling company I have recommended and have never been disappointed.

The repair person came out on tume for appointment. He got the furnace started again and helped reset the thermostat to a more reasonable temperature. I would like to talk to them about a new furnace and a/c.

Everything was working fine, then the compressor on the outside unit blew up and called again for technician to come out and he informed me of compressor issue With price I was given it was more than I could afford to replace unit.

The weather was stifling and our house was becoming so, also. My husband called a few other companies. Some didn't answer, some didn't call back when left a message, and one said they were too busy! Green's was full that day, but said they could have a tech out to us early the next day. The people at the company and the technician, Bryan Hodges, were both honest and very considerate. They called when they said they would and also when we asked them to. The tech was here on time and did exactly what he said he would in a very timely manner. He was very kind and knowledgeable. After he had investigated and knew what the problem was he gave us an approximate estimate which we were satisfied with. Bryan was very careful removing the old fan, which had rusted on. My husband knew and Bryan also informed us the fan could have stuck and we would have had to purchase a whole new unit so we were very grateful for his skills. After finishing, we told Bryan we had coupons. He looked them over then asked us a few more questions, revealing my husband was retired military. Because of this, he actually saved us an additional 50 dollars! The entire job only took Brian a little over two hours. If my husband is somewhat of a handyman, but if he had tried to do it, it would have taken days and might not have gone very well.

Called on Tuesday morning, 7.5.16, was given a two hour window on Wednesday morning, 8-10am. At 9:20am the office called to let me know we were next on the list, could be 30-60 minutes before the tech arrived. I appreciated that. Office called back shortly to say he was on his way. Wiring fix was quick, but... Husband has pulled the dryer away from the wall, disconnecting the vent to see if there was an issue with the plug, and the tech refused to move the dryer back into place or reconnect the vent. The charge for the service call and seemingly simple wiring fix was $190. Astronomical for the amount of time taken and parts used and refusal to reconnect dryer so it was functional. Had Green's quote us an HVAC system last year and did not chose them to do the work, will never call them again. Please be aware their service personnel are not at all customer oriented and act like they could not care any less about anything but getting the highest charge and moving on to the next house. Why would any company be ok with sending out a repair person and leaving the appliance unhooked and not ready to use when they left? Tech said he could not touch the vent as that was connected to the house. How are you able to repair appliances without touching items connected to the house?? Makes no sense to me and the repair person was so rude about it. Again, we will not use this provider in the future.

We called Green after 3 providers either refused to service or canceled our appointments. We had dealt with the heat for a week and with kids in house was not fun. Friendly customer service rep let me know that they were full but could do a after hours call for a little more money. We went ahead and did it because we needed our AC. I had to work so my roommate welcomed the tech, and the tech then called me and let me know what the problem was and that it didn't need replaced right now but could in the future. All other techs that had come out and refused to do service said that it needed replaced NOW. He fixed it and told my roommate what to watch for in the future. And then called me for payment and to let me know that he would price my part so I could get it replaced in the future. He was very kind an courteous. I will defiantly use this company in the future.

I would have expected the service provider to do a more comprehensive assessment of the problem and be told up front that they were not able to work on this brand of appliance. The technician didn't pull the refrigerator out and check anything else out except to confirm that the refrigerator wasn't cooling and the ice maker wasn't working (which was the reason I called in the first place).

It went great from the initial phone call to the work being finished. The General Manager came out to my fathers house right away, gave him an estimate within his budget and the work was done the next day. The technician Bryan did a great job !!! I cannot tell you how happy and satisfied my 86 year old father is !!
