Description of Work: I was having my home re-roofed and was going to remove the fireplace roof box and needed to know if different pipe would be required. I called Dave and he stopped by to look at my fireplace, about 15 minutes. He said I could remove the box but I would need a chimney sleeve, around $75. He was to install the sleeve during the roofing process; however, he spoke with the roofer and they agreed the roofer would install. Dave was to call me when in the area to stop by to ensure the sleeve was property installed and to show me how to use my fireplace, as the home was new to me. He called after he stopped and left the invoice. He charged me over $200, for the sleeve and 2 service calls. Since he didn't completely follow through with the spoken agreement, we agreed to $158.41. I have not used my fireplace to this day.

We reached an agreement to install a new electric unit that would have added features to match my needs. Unit was ordered and installed in a timely manner.

chimney repair
 + -1 moreWe had a little bit of a difficult time getting a hold of Dave to schedule the work, but once he returned our calls, he was able to come out and complete the work in one day. Very clean. They hauled away all of the demolition debris.
Description of Work: Our "brick" chimney (65 year old) was crumbling and falling apart. It is not a fireplace chimney but exhaust for furnace and water heater. Dave came out with one other crew member and demolished the chimney, rebuilt the roof around the chimney and replaced it with a steel pipe. They also put down new roof shingles and flashing around the pipe.

dryer vent cleaning
 + -1 moreDave did not call to confirm the appointment, but since he showed up on time, it didn't matter. I wish they had offered to remove their shoes, as I hate street shoes on my carpet. One or both of the gentlemen were heavy smokers, which bothers me physically. During the cleaning from outside, they had to break out "spokes" from my dryer vent, to insert their brush. That seems wrong, but I didn't say anything because I waited for four days for this appointment and had no backup plan. They did clean up after themselves inside, with the vacuum, and it wasn't a very messy operation. I appreciated that they vacuumed up the dryer debris that accumulates behind it, as it is not easy to get to that spot. I would use them again. They charge a flat fee of $90, tax included. For the work that was done, that seems high, but again, I saw no other option.
Description of Work: Dave and his partner cleaned out a blocked dryer vent that runs to my attic and then out the side wall of my home. They detached the dryer, attached a shop vac to the vent, and ran it to blow outward. From outside, Jeremy went up the ladder, removed the louvers over the vent outlet, and ran a spinning brush, powered by an electric drill, into the vent until debris stopped coming out. They reattached the dryer inside and cleaned up.
