MEL'S CARPET OUTLET

Sub-contractor installer was excellent. Mel’s Carpet Outlet sent same color carpet, but a lighter weight (less dense) with the installer than the one we picked out. And it was either measured wrong or cut wrong, because it was too short for the living room. And, when we questioned why they didn’t provide the trim pieces we paid for, all they’d say was they didn’t sell trim. And when employees say they’ll call you back, it would be nice if they actually did. And we got the bill for the balance they still included the charges for trim that we never got. I think it’s sorted out, but left a bad taste.

Estimated came out in the time frame suggested and promptly e-mailed our estimates. We haven't committed to the work yet as there are a few other to-dos ahead of carpeting on our list. We plan on getting the work done later this year.

It went well. Everything was great as far as price...we found they had comparable prices to other larger stores in town. They were very helpful as well. They ordered in specific samples for us to see and gave us time to think things through. They were kind and patient with our taking time to pick things out. The only complaint is that now after six months of having the floors installed a decision by the installer has caused a seam to start popping up. It wasn't poor quality or workmanship on his part but a poor decision. We haven't contacted them about this yet so we can't speak to whether or not it would be fixed. I am guessing they would be very helpful as they have been all along.
