Hoyne Landscaping

We contacted the owner to have him stop in for a sodding quote, as he performed the work at the neighbor's yard. He made the appointment and didn't show. His partner had stopped at the adjoining neighbor's to check on previous work (coincidentally at the time of our appointment), and we asked him if he was performing the quote for us. He didn't know anything about it, phoned the owner and then did the quote himself because the owner cancelled. NEITHER PERSON returned any information to us

I purchase several items including a leaf blowers, an edger from Hoyne. I also used their repair service on a number of occasions.When I learned that this company spams craigslist with listings under owner instead of the appropriate listing of business, I brought this to their attention. The response was rude and they were unwilling to change their practice. This left me feeling as though I really don't want to do business with them any more.

We hired Hoyne Landscaping to put some pretty extensive drain tile in our yard and landscape the entire perimeter of our home, including edging, installation of plants and river rock. We picked/purchased all of the plants. His rates were approximately 30-40% cheaper than other estimates we recieved. The work all looks great even though we ran into unforseen issues more than once (to no fault of his). My only complaint is that he was difficult to get ahold of and very unresponsive to messages. Even though the work took quite sometime to be completed, my only complaint is that he was so difficult to get in touch with. There was more than once during the project where we hadn't seen or heard from him in so long that we thought we were going to have to finish the project ourselves or hire someone else. Then, out of the blue, his guys would show up and work for a couple of hours. Given the lower rates, I was perfectly fine having it take a little longer, if only he'd communicated better. A 60-second phone call would have been considerate here and there. That said, I'd probably hire him again, knowing full well that it would take a while. The work is well done, his help is very nice and his prices were excellent. Just would have appreciated a phone call here and there :-)

When providing estimate lead me to believe it would include about 6 small pine trees and the possibility of a burm in front to block view of electrical and cable utility box. When completed all I got was some landscaping blocks along 2 sides of the foundation that did not go around the corners as I requested. It was planted with mostly hostas, a couple of decorative grass plants, 3 or 4 bushes anda few day lillies. $1500, this is only a 1500 sq. ft. house. When they came to cut the grass they put holes in the two bottom corners of my siding on my brand new house. If they had gone around the corners like I asked they wouldn't have been trimming so close and wouldn't have put holes in it. Replaing the corner molding that was damaged would require ripping off the siding half way up. He took $150 off my final cost.Big deal.
