They started the job during a heat wave and so we were sympathetic and fine with them working half days. The job took over a week, with them not showing up at all on some days. They continued to work some half days even after the heat wave ended. We heard the owner trying to talk his employees in to going to work on another job before they even finished our roof. This is when some of them stopped showing up to finish our roof. The roof had cedar shake and had to come off completely so there was literally no roof while it was being replaced This was bad because of the summer heat just going out of our ceiling and was made worse because they were only working half days when they could have worked full days. While tarps were covering the roof, the tarps leaked and ruined a plaster ceiling and in the room. The owner promised to repair this. Since the work was done (almost six weeks ago) he has promised us multiple times he would come. He has never shown up despite numerous calls. When the roofers finished, we were told the area around the chimney and other openings needed to be sealed yet and they would be back. They have never come back to finish the job despite numerous calls. During one of the calls, the owner said it would take five minutes to do and during another call, he claimed it was done, but could not tell me when. After they finished, I noticed damage to the face board of the house. The damage was not there before and has left our attic open to birds, squirrels and whatever else can climb up there. On top of this, we had some metal hand railings from a previous job on our property. The owner of the roofing company offered to buy them. He took the metal for scrap and has never paid us despite numerous calls. Now, we will have pay to fix the face boards and I am going to have to another contractor come to check whether they sealed the roof or not.
Description of Work: This company was subcontracted by a general contractor to repair our roof after a bad hail storm.
