I'm very happy with the work that Andy and his father did. I had water damage on my ceiling and it now looks like new. They were very professional and cleaned up all repair waste. Andy was very accommodating in finding a time that worked for me, he had to come back three times to apply plaster and let it dry and I really appreciate it because it looks great!

They crew was very professional and completed the job in a quick amount of time. You could tell the painters knew what they were doing

Andy and his father did a fantastic job. We didn't know why our wall was bowing, they uncovered the cause which could have been much worse, fixed it and patched up the wall. They were prompt on arrival, cleaned up after each day and charged us exactly what was quoted. The wall never looked better! Would recommend their work to anyone!

I am very pleased with the work that was done. He came in, asked what I needed to get done and was there the next week doing exactly what we discussed. He even went above what we asked and repaired some spots that we didn't talk about. Very clean work as well.

We contacted Andy early November to have our drywall and basement ceiling patched due to a leaking pipe. We were able to get the estimate by sending him pictures of the holes on our wall and basement ceiling, saving him a trip to our house. He fit us in to his schedule before Thanksgiving, and showed up promptly at the scheduled time. Andy and his father were there for about 3-3.5 hours patching up 4 holes on our walls, as well as a big crack on our basement ceiling. They were very professional and friendly and the work was done nicely - they re-textured the entire wall instead of just the holes to make sure it all matched up. It wasn't necessary (we probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway) but they did it because they want to do it right. They kept the work area clean, and vacuumed and wiped all area cleaned after they were finished. He gave us a 10% discount at the end since the work was done quicker than he originally estimated. He was fair and explained things clearly. I would definitely hire him again for other house project.

We called to get an estimate for repair. We were told to take some photos and email them. It was about 4 days before we heard any response at all. Once we got the estimate, it was reasonable and we did go with Scott's. The job was done quickly and extremely well

The Scott's are a son & father team with a combined experience of 40 years. I had read the reviews posted on Angie's List and they were the first business I contacted by e-mail. In response to my e-mail Andy Scott called me directly and we set up a time for him to come look at the repairs needed. He came out the following day at the agreed upon time and gave me both a verbal estimate for the job followed up by an invoice via e-mail with the jobs specifically itemized. Andy also informed me that he and his father could complete the job in two days. The repair work was done on one day and then allowed to dry (set up). Then the sanding and paint work was completed on the second day. The Scott's did an excellent job. They were very professional and took the time to put down tarps on the wooded & carpeted floor as well as plastic over the bathroom vanity. They also used a wet/dry vacuum to get any loose materials that had come off the ceiling all cleaned up.They also left a small industrial fan to speed the drying time. The Scott's got a good match on the paint color and they not only painted the repair area, but the entire ceiling & walls. It all came out looking really nice. If I have any small criticism (more of a suggestion really), it would be to use NO or low VOC paint so there aren't any toxic fumes. Since my bedroom is right across from the small bathroom, I did not realize how strong the fumes would be or that I would have an allergic reaction (i.e., sinus headache and sore throat) as a result. But to the Scott's credit, they did leave the window open to help the fumes escape. The only problem was my 81 year old father wanted the window closed because he was cold. While I did turn on my own personal fan, it didn't help that much. But overall it was an excellent job and a reasonable price. Andy Scott is a straight up guy who is very easy to talk to. I would definitely hire Andy & Roger Scott again for other indoor jobs.

Working with Andy was extremely easy and professional. He was able to squeeze our jobs in between some other big jobs he was working on and we are so thankful for him and his staff for that. All of the workers were extremely friendly, professional and completed both our kitchen and bedroom in less than 3 days. This room is to be a nursery for our baby that is due in a month and I am extremely happy with how safe and warm she will because of the new ceiling/insulation. Andy gave us a same day estimate and was very willing to work with our needs. Aside from the job itself I was extremely comfortable hiring Andy based off of his confidence and knowledge on what needed to be done and his ability to determine exactly what we wanted. I contacted several other contractors/drywall people and most seemed to have knowledge on a part of what we needed done- Andy and his crew saw the project from start to finish including not only drywall but framing, structure, etc. We will definitely be working with him in the future on some of our many other home projects!

It went great! They made my previously ugly and unprofessional bathroom look gorgeous as it always should have. I called on short notice and we were on a tight schedule crunch with the mold remediators and the tile guys and Andy took the time to work us in even though their schedule was busy. Very fair price as well. They did great work and were pleasant to have in the house all day. Kept everything clean and treated it like their own. I've already called them to come back out and do some more work. Definitely recommend Their work. Honest and hardworking - which is sometimes hard to find, but you found it here!

Andy did a great job for us! The textures on our ceilings are pretty different, and he matched them nearly identical to the original. He finished the job in just a little more than one day, and if the repairs weren't done beautifully, we would have hardly known he was in our house. Left everything nice and clean. Very pleased with how it all turned out.

Due to our small window of time and his packed schedule he wasn't able to accept a job with us (we needed it completed beginning part of the following week). Over the phone Andy was extremely professional and I absolutely will contact him for future work we may have.

Scott came and was very nice to work with. He subbed out the electrical and also the sheetrock work but did haul away sheetrock garbage. Also installed some plywood on one wall before the sheetrock work. He arranged to have people here to do what he said when he said it. The people he hired did very good work and I am completely happy with the job done.

We spoke with several different providers for each individual service and were pleased that Andy could do it all (painting, construction, tile work, etc.) without having the complication of multiple vendors. Only reason we didn't hire him was timing...our window was very tight and, though he was doing his utmost to get it all done quickly, we wound up going the multiple vendor route, since they could work simultaneously. That said, he was great at returning our calls, came out and took thorough notes, listened and paid great attention to each of our requests, gave us a very detailed bid (with a very short turn around time) and followed up immediately on our questions. He even got a subcontract bid for carpeting that was very competitive. Overall, great experience. I'd be sure to call him again if we need anything done.

Contacted Mr. Scott and spoke to him personally. Discussed what I wanted to do with my deck and indoor repairs. He stated he would call me back early next week. to schedule an appointment and get an estimate . Have not heard from him in 2 weeks. Very disappointed. Contacted other service providers. Contacted him 5/19/14 and followed up. He stated he was leaving for a baseball game and did not write down my contact information. I stated I was very disappointed with the treatment I received.

First of all, Andy and his father are super friendly, and I chose them primarily because I sensed they would be great to work with. Right from the start he was willing to negotiate his quote with me and refine his scope a bit so we both were satisfied. He was not the cheapest guy, but his price was competitive. My biggest concern with any contractor is obviously quality of work---no problem here. My next biggest concern is a contractor's propensity to find ways to add cost to a project. Andy did not do that. We agreed to a price and he stuck with it. He did not nickel-and-dime me to death. I did ask him once to increase his price for some additional services, which he was willing to do for a very reasonable $350 (I think he might have had some regrets with this amount after realizing how much effort it took, but he did not ask me for any more money!). Andy and his father do high-quality work. I remember telling him that I want both him and me to be proud of what they accomplished, and that is exactly what he delivered. One thing I must emphasize is Andy's willingness to work within my schedule (not only because I, too, work for a living, but because I did some work myself and hired an electrician myself to do an extensive amount of electrical work.) All this hassle with scheduling, waiting, whatever, can be point of contention with some contractors, but not Andy! He understands the homeowner's circumstances and we just worked things out over the phone or email. Also, you can trust Andy in your home. I gave him full access, since I was rarely present when they did their work. He always left the place nice, locked up, and secure. Another key point: Andy hired an excellent cabinet installer---beautiful work---precise, neat, and sound. The plumber he hired is the nicest plumber I have ever met, and he did such a fine professional job. Thank you! Thank you! I highly recommend Andy and will most likely ask him to help me out on my next major renovation project that comes along.

Andy Scott and his Dad did a great job. They were there on time and were suppose to just paint the kitchen. I added afew things to the project -i.e. - the deck, garage and living room-they were happy to do them.. They did all the work in a timely matter and everything looks great. It is nice to have someone you can trust and cares about the work they do. I had no idea who they were before I hired them. I just used the recommendations on Angie's List and went with it. They were great to work with and I will use them again in the future when I need something done. They were also alot cheaper than the last company I used.

Andy was very professional and very prompt. He even hired extra folks to get things done. Great person to deal with, professional, and prompt . The work was performed at my mom's and dad's house that we were getting ready to sell in Urbandale, but I can't get the location below to change

We had two ceiling patches that were horribly done and he came in and fixed them up. The only way to know this is a cover up of the first horrible job is to actually have seen the old job. Looks amazing!!! He hard to seal/prime the ceiling due heavy tobacco stains and then just paint a white coat over. We needed this job done immediately and he was here right away and got the job done. Made sure to use a good quality sealer/primer so that stains will not show through in the future. He really made sure that everything was covered as to not get paint on anything. So professional, so courteous and really did an amazing job. Made sure when he finished up to grab a couple of business cards to pass out if I hear of anyone looking for someone.

The kitchen remodel was extensive--removing a wall, moving appliances and plumbing, new cabinetry, new flooring, covering a window, replacing siding. He is great to work with. We have an older home and he understands the complexities of this kind of upgrade. When there have been problems after a remodel (small things) he either comes himself to fix it, or sends one of his subcontractors. We found Andy on Angie's list and are very pleased with all of his service.

Outside of being hard to get ahold of at times, from an estimation/scheduling perspective, once he and his team's schedule freed up, they were very responsive and onsite immediately. Complete basement was drywalled in an afternoon, taping/mudding/sanding was finished immediately after that in 3 days, with the texturing and painting done within a week after that due to my schedule. They covered everything up to minimize the effects of the processes, and totally cleaned up everything once completed. Minor sanding imperfections were promptly corrected prior to texturizing and painting, and the shower stall was cleaned up promptly as it wasn't covered during the taping/mudding process. I have no follow-up issues or complaints, with Andy and his father, and their sub-contracting team being very professional and responsive to my needs/requests. The work fully met my expectations and looks great.

Scott's Home Renewal was very much on time and on task with the job. They were pleasant, professional, covered the floors and walkways, and cleaned the area after each portion of the process. The job required two mornings as planned, and they were flexible to schedule changes. I would definitely recommend them to others in need of drywall and/or painting services.

Contacted this provider twice for a bid. Twice I was told he would get back to me, never did, ever.

It went really well, they said they would be there at 7:30 am and done by 4 pm, which they were. They built a closet in my house in one day and it looks fantastic! They cut all the shelves for me as well. I would definitely use them again.
